it is a very active crime scene. police commissioner has been in this line of work for 45 years, he says the worst part of the job is a mourning the loss of an officer killed in the line of duty. he says it never gets any easier. at about 8:30 p.m. last night officers responded to shots fired near east 100 second street and first avenue. >> he ran towards danger. it was to that call. commissioner witnesses told responding officers that several men lead north on the footpath. one victim told cops that his bike had been dolan at gunpoint. officers were on the lookout for suspect with a bike and i found him riding north on fdr. >> reporter: there is an man into officers.
