took over the number one spot. >> brooks: so you know what, that tells me that neil young went solo before 1972. good morning. it's friday morning. brooks tomlin in for jayme king. let's get your day started. 68 degrees, on the bottom left-hand corner of your screen. that's 8:00 temperature. most people will be already in the 70s by 9:00. early morning lows in the low to mid 60s. upper 50s up towards alachua, marion county, and even 70s right on the coast in brevard county is where we started. once again we're warming up, upper 60s, low 70s right now. and another ten minutes we'll get the 9:00 numbers. and i think most of us will be in the 70s already. on the way to highs in the 80s. i don't see a significant cool
8:46 am
i do see rain, possibly thunderstorms coming tomorrow. sunday, monday. best chance will be sunday. many and also on sunday we spring forward. remember that one hour. we lose an hour of daylight in the morning. we gain an hour of daylight in the evening. the winds, that's been a big story the last couple days, gusty winds out of the atlantic ocean. we're going to continue with southeast winds but not as strong as they have been the last couple days. right now five to ten miles an hour. temperature wise, there we are, 72 in the villages, 70 in palm coast. you look around the southeast and into the great plain states there is no arctic air. there is no canadian air. there is no snow anywhere. it's 61 in dc. 57 in nashville. so even though we do see a system that's going to come through, we don't see a cooldown. and that system right now is dropping copious amounts of rain across the lower mississippi
8:47 am
for us that system is going to move off to the north, so our rain chances very small as we go through the weekend. here is the forecast. today we say partly cloudy, dry, and warm with the southeast winds. tomorrow the rain still stays, the bulk of it stays in the gulf of mexico. slight chance of a shower tomorrow. best chance of rain here on sunday afternoon. we're keeping an eye to the sky, 50% chance of rain, but not a washout. here is your forecast. 87 degrees today. 84 and 85 degrees saturday and sunday with good chance of rain sunday but not a washout. and then we dry out and stay warm all next week. weather baby time, who do we have this morning? we got corbin. corbin is hanging out with a good smile. love those eyes. corbin just made our day. you love him, amy? >> amy: yes, adorable.
8:48 am
this morning. >> amy: so cute. now i want to take you to i-4 westbound. things are still moving slow right here at exit 68. this is a view looking from central florida parkway. the crash has been cleared. it is off to the shoulder, but cars are slowing down to take a look so things are moving slow in this area. taking you out to melbourne the crash that was blocking several lanes, it has now been cleared. things are still moving slow, i-95 northbound because of the crash, as well as on -- right here where we're seeing slowdowns because of people who left i-95. something to keep in mind if you're in that area. taking a look at drive times, 14 minutes. eastbound from the attractions to downtown will take you 15 minutes. if you're using the 408 this morning, the 417 to downtown will take you 11 minutes.
8:49 am
>> amy: beautiful. gives you chills there. the top six for "american idol" is now set. last night the journey ended for two more contestants. avalon young and lee jean were voted off last night. it's mean to put the big red x through their face. isn't there a nicer way to do it? those still left had great performances. so we're going to start with porsche, she is your favorite. >> i said it since the beginning. she doesn't have the star quality, but her voice tops everybody on the show. >> amy: for me it's the hair. i love it. we're going to listen to a
