"(alex giaimo) in college football if you're home over the holidays then you most likely did not have a successfull regular season. tomorrow is christmas eve but it's also the day the hawkeyes fly to pasadena for the rose bowl. and although the hawks won't be home for christmas they are grateful to be spending the holiday with their football family. (kirk ferentz) christmas? it's actually like a wednesday of practice for us. ho ho ho...so uh we will celebrate christmas as a team that evening but it's just we do things a little differently i guess but i explained to our guys, first of all, as a coach, it's bad luck to not be coaching over christmas or over the holidays. we tried that a couple years ago it's not much fun. (cole fisher) we had one year, obviously, when we didn't make a bowl game um you know i was home for christmas and yea it's great seeing the famly but at the same time sitting at home with the family watching the football games it's not ideal. (alex giaimo) the hawkeyes head out tomorrow morning for warm weather and sunny skies. not to shabby of a christmas after all. in iowa city with your hawkeye headquarters report. i'm alex giaimo.
