just hours after stepping off the republican presidential debate stage in south carolina, donald trump was back in iowa today for a few events. stephanie/2shot he's talking more about how he's going to win the iowa caucuses and the nomination, though his speeches still focus on poll numbers and big promises. local 5's chief political correspondent amanda krenz has more. cobblestone theater in urbandale to show the movie "13 hours," that depicts what happened at benaghazi. the showing is tonight at 6. the movie was just released on thursday. it shows the terrorist raid on the u-s embassy in benghazi back in 2012 -- and many people are critical of action as state during that time. jack/ots: presidential candidate is coming out of the debate on a high note - and with an endorsement. jeb bush now has the backing of former candidate lindsey graham. the south endorsed bush saying it's a no- brainer. graham says the election will most likely be decided in south carolina, and so his support of bush matters. graham is the first former presidential

endorse another contender. he dropped out in december after failing to qualify for the main stage at several debates and not raising enough money and support in the early voting states. stephanie: a class of students at a des moines elementary school celebrated m-l-k day a little early today. stephanie/1shot: martin luther king junior day is just days away, and students at samuelson elementary took to the halls to celebrate the civil rights leader's legacy. they walked in silence one at a time and then stopped to join hands while listening to doctor king's "i have a dream speech." "i have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed. we hold these truths to be self evident that all men are created equal." stephanie : and there are several upcoming events on monday to celebrate dr. king's birthday. there will be a prayer breakfast on the drake campus, a

ceremony with governor branstad at the botancial garden in des moines, as well as a morning run at the state capitol. jack: on wall-street- this now marks the worst two- week start to a year - ever. jack/lam: the dow jones industrials closed today down 390 points, the nasdaq and s&p 500 down as well. abc's marci gonzalez shows us what experts say is behind the stock sell-off. a few hours next month -- to hold staff meetings about food safety. the chicago- based company has more than 19-hundred restaurants, including 17 outside the u.s. the shut down will happen on february 8th. the company has been in the hotseat this past year...since chipotle was tied to series of disease outbreaks, including e-coli, salmonella and norovirus. stephanie/ram: and it's not just chipotle that is shutting its doors. walmart is closing hundreds of stores around the globe - for good, and it's putting thousands of people out of work - though none of those stores are in iowa. wal-mart announced its first ever mass closing on friday...with 269 stores worldwide closing their doors. 154-of those stores are in the u-s. the company says approximately 16-thousand employees will be impacted by the closings...10- thousand of whom are in the united states. according to its press release - walmart says "more than 95 percent of the closed stores in the u.s. are within 10 miles of another walmart, and the company hopes

forecast with chief meteorologist brad edwards. this is local 5 news at 5, we are iowa." stephanie: ted cruz's citizenship and his eligibility to become president is now the subject of a lawsuit in texas. stephanie/ram: a texas attorney has formally filed a lawsuit against cruz, saying that he should be disqualified from the presidential race because he isn't a natural born citizen. the suit wants a judge - possibly even the supreme court - to determine whether or not cruz can or cannot serve if elected. cruz was born in canada to an american-born mother. the issue was brought up by front-runner donald trump in last night's republican

pushing hard for cruz to go before a court to get the issue settled. jack/1shot: the results of the online iowa straw poll have been released - and there's a new runner-up to the first place candidate in iowa. donald trump remains the clear front- runner with 34 percent, but in second is rand paul. rounding out the top five are marco rubio, ted cruz, and ben carson. on the democratic side, iowans chose hillary clinton over bernie sanders, but only by one percent. martin o'malley remains in a distant third with 4 percent of the vote. jack/lam: former president bill clinton is back in iowa this weekend, campaigning on behalf of his wife, hillary. clinton has several organizing events, hosting three today in sioux city and marshalltown. he's been pushing that a democratic agenda is best for the country - and that hillary is the best candidate to deliver it.
