good afternoon sara bloomquist is off and in the news former president, george h.w. bush remains hospitalized after experiencing a shortness of breath and officials determine the cause of an apartment blaze in delaware. but the big story is the christmas eve rush, people are trying out of town or driving to grandmom's house or going to the stores to get last minute gifts. >> the action cam found this man trekking through the rain with his suit case in hand. we have team coverage of the holiday rush this afternoon and john rawlins is at the owe airport and walter perez is live in south jersey where last minute shoppers are busy but lets begin with karen rogers at the big board. >> reporter: that is right, we told you that the first half of the day is the wettest than is what we see on stormtracker 6

westbound lanes of the expressway. the 55-year-old driver suffered several injuries when his truck crashed and rolled over, he is hospitalized in critical condition. the fuel tank ruptured and hazmat crews were called in. six philadelphia police officers were hurt when two cruisers collided on the way to the same call in north philadelphia last night. the 22nd district police cars crashed and one was carrying four officers, they were all responding to shots fired at nearby 20th and oxford streets, one officer suffered a concussion and each officer was wearing a seatbelt and the airbags did deploy, there was no shooter or gunshot victims found at the scene of the call by the way. now firefighters are pinpointed the cause of the blaze in delaware, it was caused

by a stove being used to heat a second story unit. it quickly spread and damaged 15 apartments on butter nut court, they are working to place the families in vacant units elsewhere in the complex. there is more to come on "action news" at noon. protests break out in suburban st. louis, after a black teen was fatally shot by a white police officer. and severe storms that may have sparked a tornado killed four people in mississippi and destroyed homes and businesses, and karen rogers returns with the complete accuweather forecast. for the christmas day holiday. no matter who you are,

after a fatal shooting of a black teenager by a white police officer, it happened at a convenience store in berkeley, missouri, just a few miles from ferguson where michael brown was killed in august. >> reporter: anger erupting on the streets of suburban st. louis again last night this time in berkeley, missouri, protesters gathered where a white police officer fatally shot a white teenager. berkeley police say that the officer was conductsing a routine check when the teenager pointed a gun at him, police released video captured outside after the incident. you have to look carefully, it shows a man raising a weapon towards the officer, the police say the officer fired in response. >> the video shows that the

deceased pointed a gun that has been recovered. >> the protest took a turn towards violence, a quick trip convenience store was vandalized and two officers suffered injuries. >> there are no winners just nothing but losers. >> the shooting happens just a few miles from ferguson, missouri, where michael brown was fatally wounded by a white officer in august. a woman in the crowd identified herself as the victims mother. >> the officer a six year veteran is on administrative leave, he was given a body camera to wear but did not have it on at the time of the shooting. in other news this noon president george h.w. bush remains in a houston hospital at

this hour, the 90-year-old was taken to the hospital yesterday after experiencing a shortness of breath and doctors are keeping him in the hospital for observation, he recently appeared at an event in november.

according to the number of packages being delivered. the u.s. postal service is delivering 2.2 million packages on monday breaking its own record for the most parcels being delivered in one day. the post office, fedex and ups took the increase in online shopping and were prepared. this noon, gay and bisexual men were banned from blood donation buzz that policy could be changing, they favor banning a ban on donations with a modified policy, the ban dates back to the aids crisis but many groups like the medical association says that it's no longer supported by science given advances in hiv testing. the "action news" team is working on news stories tonight beginning at 4:00, like this one, gas prices are still
