the tri-state area. we're tracking the fires that have broken out and the warning for everyone this afternoon. also the race for the white house got more crowded. two new names have been added to the republican ticket. a local team of doctors is heading to nepal in the wake of last month's deadly earthquake. >> details on the weather worries due to the winds the dry conditions and warm temperatures today. chopper 6hd live over burlington county. you can see the smoke in the distance that's where several brush fires have broken out and burning right now. officials say more could happen later today conditions are ripe for it. meteorologist david murphy will have the latest from accuweather in just a moment. but first we turn to "action news" reporter, john rawlins with more on the fires burning. >> reporter: hi, sarah multiple fires burning about 65 acres by our calculation apparently not an accident or act of nature. you'll hear about that in a

moment here. officials awoke to five sprid -- spreading brushfires in pemberton township. ground crews and helicopters are using to contain the fire. two. largest are a work in progress. as for a cause -- >> these are man-caused fires. it's suspicious, the fires are under investigation local county law enforce. are working together, state park police are involved. >> reporter: well, it's that criminal investigation go forward, the fire fighting continues. the hope is to have the fires contained asap. john rawlins channel 6 "action news." >> let's he -- let's go back live outside, sky6 live hd showing you the center city

skyline. like we mentioned the dry conditions and high winds could make for a dangerous situation. our team coverage continues with meteorologist david murphy outside the studios with the latest from accuweather. >> reporter: not only are the brushfires underway. they have good fuel to work with this afternoon and the winds could make it earer to spread. we have -- easier to spread. we have fire concerns officially kicking in at 1:00 p.m. it's after that time period we expect the breezes to begin to build. this doesn't expire until later tonight. combination of low humidity and breezy conditions and the dry fuel on the forest floor due to the lack of rain around here of significance is making it important for those of you who smoke not to flick cigarettes out the car window, never a good idea, especially today. don't do any off roading as the manifold and hot parts under your car can hit tall dry grass

and get that going. if you see smoke along the roads call 911. the winds are in the process of buildings we're only up to 9 miles per hour in philadelphia. you can see double digits beginning to pop up here and there. and generally we expect a 10 to 20-mile an hour breeze this afternoon coming up from the south. saturday we got up to a comfortable 74. yesterday, 81. today, 85. all these numbers above the average high of 70. today's high of 85, the last time we were this warm was on september 28 when we hit 86 on the thermometer in philadelphia. 85 is the high around 3:00 p.m. 4:00 p.m. we'll see a similar number of 84 and down to 81 by 6:00 p.m. and finally back into the 70s and eventually all the way down into the 60s. and, of course, your pollen count is running high as it has been a lot lately, but looks like it will drop off tomorrow,

fbi is looking for evidence after a deadly shooting in texas that they are calling a terror attack. yesterday two islamic extremists were killed after they opened fire at a controversial cartoon contest, offering $10,000 for the best drawing of muhammad. one of the suspects was elton simpson who was convicted in a terror investigation. fbi spent the morning searching the apartment in phoenix no major evidence has been found. doctors nurses and paramedics with the delaware medical relief team are on the way to nepal to help victims with last year's deadly earthquake. three doctors left in advance of the first wave of volunteers. more of the team is expected to arrive on thursday. the death toll from the earthquake has topped 7200

witnesses say the mother made it out of the water and collapsed. the baby was 700 yards downstream and in the water for four minutes an officer pulled him from the water and began cpr with another officer. allentown police say the mother and child are in serious condition. they have not released the mother's name and no charges have been filed. now an "action news" exclusive, a 12-year-old from south jersey managed to use an amazon gift card to buy an illegal stun gun online. the boy's mother arena brother certify septembered the package -- the intercepted the package. he would have opened that, and god knows what he would have done with it. >> it is crime to possess such a we have in the state of new jersey. he ordered the 11-dollar stun gun from an amazon vendor.
