even up in allentown and reading, it is to some degree humid. heading out on the bus stop this morning, 72 by 6 o'clock, 75 by 8 o'clock. warm and humid with some clouds probably lingering and mixing with the sun. and as we roll into the afternoon another hot and humid one, 85 degrees as soon as noon, 911 by 3 o'clock and that high of 92 is going to be late in the afternoon around 4 o'clock. the humidity will be higher than yesterday and it will feel rather sticky. we've got a little chance of a pop-up shower or thunderstorm today but a much better chance of some drenching downpours tomorrow, karen. details ahead in the seven day. >> all right, rain much needed but we never like that on the roads. we're not seeing it right now obviously. we're dry and clear on 422. seeing more volume than we had during the summer time. we can tell that people are getting back to work, back to school and certainly up early even at this hour. 422 just a little bit of volume out there. on the big picture we see speeds mostly still in the 50's on the blue route, schuylkill and i-95 and so watch for that. the phils play tonight at 7:05. those sports express trains start at 6:08f you're headed

engine plane which caught on fire. now, there were 157 passengers and crew members on board this plane that was bound for london. it took 50 firefighters minutes to douse the aircraft but again, they had this under control in just minutes. that was good news. 14 people were taken to the hospital by early tuesday evening for minor injuries. most a result of sliding down those inflatable chutes to escape the burning plane. though some flights from vegas were delayed for more than two hours, right now the cause of that fire is still under investigation. tam. >> okay, thank you, erin. firefighters spent the night putting out what's left of the flames in the new jersey pine barrens. the forest fire that broke out in woodland township on monday is now contained. it burned a thousand acres. but it didn't threaten any homes. the forestry service says the extremely dry conditions out there fueled that wildfire. >> and in the seven day we're going get some help in that dry matter coming soon.
storm tracker6 live double scan shows that you we are dry across the region and as we take a look outside, we have sky6 and there's penn's landing and everything is lit up nice and pretty for you this morning. doesn't feel all that pretty, though, as we're starting out warm and rather muggy. right now temperature in philadelphia is 75. your dewpoint up there at 72. 72 is a very high number and so you're looking at a dewpoint that is definitely indicating high humidity out there as you step outside. winds out of the south at 8 miles per hour. you'll feel the effects of that humidity if you're out exercising this morning. if you're walking around after the sun comes up. future tracker6 shows you that during the morning hours we're basically dry with a mix of clouds and some sun. but by about two or 3 o'clock, we'll be on the lookout for at least some spotty showers and perhaps a thunderstorm popping up. now as i advance this through the afternoon into the evening, you can see that most of the time most of the area is dry. but at times there is the chance in this humid atmosphere of something popping especially in the northern half of the region. there's the 11 o'clock view. things kind of dying down. the big story for most of you is going to be the combination
of heat which technically is a little lower than yesterday. yesterday we got to 94. today we're going to do a high of 92 at around 4 o'clock and there you see how the numbers climb but the humidity is going to be higher today. so, even though the number on the thermometer is a little bit lower it's liable to feel more uncomfortable for you. and again later in the day a shower or a thunderstorm. high temperatures across the region will go to about 90's in allentown, 91 in reading and trenton and in wilmington. 88 in millville and down the shore mid 80's ocean water still in the 70's. slight chance of a rip current today, though and without the lifeguards around be careful, okay. and for the phillies tonight it's going to be humid. thunderstorm can't be ruled out but i think most of that is going to be up to the north of the ballpark. 84 for the first pitch, 79 in the ninth inning and like the last couple of nights it's going to be humid down at the ballpark. 82 then -- i knew that was going to come. i just could not stop it. okay. so, 82 is tomorrow's high. it will be a lot cooler, still humid but with a front coming through we are looking at showers and thunderstorms that could bring some drenching
downpours. most of this on the model is happening in the afternoon. this is the 1 o'clock view. then at 3 o'clock when the kids are getting out of school, it's not raining everywhere but where it is it's really coming down. same thing for the evening rush hour. then things die down later tomorrow night. your seven-day forecast, we're going for a high of 92 today, hot and sticky. tomorrow much needed rain at times it will come down in buckets in some areas. 82 is the high. one to 2-inches of rain possible across much of the region. then friday improvement. clouds giving way to sun, humidity lowering during the many during the day. a nice afternoon with a high of 83. saturday looks good around 83 for a high and then sunday 79. weekend rain, yeah, late saturday night into sunday morning appears to be the best chance. kind of like those numbers getting back into the 70's for the first time in about a month. >> yeah, it's been while. thanks, david. 5:40 now. and it is time for some pope swag. find out where you can grab a pope francis plush doll and more in advances of his historic visit. >> and you can win a home for just $200. but of course there's a little
