local home invasion. police are looking for a suspect in old city philadelphia. a dead shooting on a college campus, this time gunfire erupted outside a dorm at northern arizona university killing one and wiewdged three -- wounding three others. police have the suspect in custody. we have the latest developments and the deepening debate over gun control. bozi. >> reporter: good afternoon rick, students are back at class, some students are questioning a law that allows students to have guns on campus while president obama is pushing for more background checks. >> four people possibly shot. >> reporter: an emergency call at another college campus, four people shot at northern arizona
university in flagstaff in a parking lot near a dorm. one of the victims dead. the 18-year-old gunman in custody. >> two separate student grooms got into a confrontation, it turned physical. >> reporter: as the victims of this school remain in the hospital, president obama is isn his way to oregon to meet with the families of the nine people killed in the malice -- mass shootings of a gunman at a community college. >> we're examining what other omses -- options are available to keep the guns out of the hand of chris. >> reporter: this morning one of the top polling candidates, ben carson is defending his recent suggestion that part of the saluting could be more guns including at schools. >> in fact if i had a child in
the school, i would much prefer that there be somebody trained on that campus rather than just leaving them at the mercy of some individual whose lost their senses. >> reporter: in arizona police have not said what started the deadly fight. so far there have been at least ten school shootings this year. in washington, channel 6 "action news." rick. >> thank you, back here, a mother accused of injecting two children with heroin just appeared in court in chester county. the 34 waived her preliminary hearing. she gave the drug to her 14-year-old daughter and 16-year-old boyfriend several times over the last month. david henry was there for the appearance before the judge this morning. we'll have more details in a live report at 12:30. >> a local business owner remains in critical condition after he was stabbed 20 times during an armed robbery in
southwest philadelphia. the suspect attack 62-year-old patrick spinosa inside his southwest auto tag store on dicks avenue at 6:00 p.m. investigators are trying to uncover a surveillance video from a nearby gas station. philadelphia police have released new video of a man who robbed three different groups of people at gunpoint in less than an hour. all incidents happened in the old city section of philadelphia. the man threatened the victim with the weapon before taking their cash and pushes and other belongings. two on south 5th street, the third at front and dock street. police believe the suspect drove away in a dark-colored suv with a new jersey license plate. police have released video of a terrifying home invasion in frankford. two of the three men were captured on video on porch of
home. they tied up the man at gunpoint while his wife and grandson pretended to be asleep. they ransacked the apartment and left with the other electronics allong with the couple's keys. anyone who recognizes the men is to contact philadelphia police. a water main break from last night is impacting homes and businesses in center city. trish hartman is live on the scene on south street where crews are trying to make repairs. >> reporter: rick, the water department tells us the these repairs will take until 5:00 p.m. or 6:00 p.m. water is shut off to customers on 5th from south to aluminum barreled as crews work to fix the main. about 50 homes and businesses are without power and 20 without water after a ten inch water main break at south and 5th street.
suesanne haney wanted to use the lawrnld -- laundry matt. water department officials say they don't know what caused the break and hope to have it fixed by this evening. >> we try to prevented them from breaking and replace them in our replacement program. >> reporter: the owner of johnny rocket is open and without power, while he may looks like business, he won't lose his food thanks to a load of dry ice. this street is from south to lumbard. officials ask that drivers avoid the area for the rest of the day. live in south philadelphia, trish hartman channel 6 "action news." >> thank you. checking the forecast get ready for a bit of precipitation later today.

be made public. a federal judge in new jersey has ruled that corruption charges against senator bob menendez will stand saying he failed to produce any evidence suggesting the charges should be thrown out. earlier this year the judge dismissed 4 of the 22 counts against him. in washington, republicans are discussing their next move now that kevin mccarthy has been withdrawn. mccarthy dropped out yesterday concluding he could not unite the party. boehner said he is intent on holding elections for a new speaker by the end of the month. two people are facing federal charges after the drone crashed over the white house. the men involved were given
criminal citations, but not arrested. this is the latest in a string of similar incidents. back in may secret service arrested someone who flew a drone in front of the white house, in january a drone operator crashed a device on the white house grounds. spencer stone one of the men who thwarted an attack on a paris train has been attacked outside a bar. the man believing to be certain threw a punch. others moved in. he rushes back in and is stabbed several times. police are looking for the suspects, as well as the motive for the brawl. 3,000 national guard soldiers and men are spread across the state helping with the aftermath of the flooding in south carolina. jeh johnson will travel there to

hearing this morning. she had nothing to say as she was led into court in had you evers. police have filed 18 new charges against here in addition to the 14 she was facing. police went to the home to check on the children. the home was in deplorable condition and discovered that rippy was injecting her 14-year-old daughter with heroin. she was injecting a 16-year-old boy. court documents indicate the heroin was supplied by her boyfriend. she was watching her inject the drug into the arms of the children. burn is on the run. police hope he turns themselves in. the abuse of the children would never come to light if the family friend hadn't tipped them off. rippy will go straight to
