garden lane. the house caught fire at 4:30 this morning and it seems to have started in the basement according to firefighters. that led to a partial collapse on the first floor, so all the crews are sort of hanging around the exterior there even though one of them is on a ladder right now. the fire looks like it may be under control right now. they're sticking some hoses in their but -- all right so we do see some flames there still coming from the upper part of the structure. we'll get some more information from firefighters about this fire burning at a home in aston delaware county. >> first up we'll go over to dave murphy and karen rogers get the late of the in accuweather and your commute. good morning. >> it's not quite as cool as it was yesterday but we are still on the chilly side. as we take a look at satellite, you can see that there are some breaks in the clouds early. a system passing us by off the coast is taking rain up towards boston but not really here. we do have a little bit of rain out to the west of us and some of that may clip parts of the region later this morning and in through parts of the afternoon. 62 degrees currently in philadelphia, 62 in millville.
49 in allentown. we have slipped into the 40's there but all these numbers are better than they were this time yesterday morning. and winds once again this morning are fairly light. we have popped up to about 8 miles per hour in philadelphia but that's about as high as you're going to see them today, maybe a little bit higher than that later this afternoon. 62 degrees in your storm tracker6 app right now. down to about 59 by 8 o'clock and then by noon 68 and we are going to get into the 70's for one more day. 3 o'clock, 72. your high today is going to be 73 at about 3:30 or 4 o'clock. cooler air coming in tomorrow, karen, and another shot of even chillier air for the weekend. details coming up in the seven-day. >> all right, dave, so we're going watch for a spotty shower later. for now the roads are dry. we're not seeing any weather-related problems and looking live on the blue route near macdade that's southbound traffic right there. traffic moving nicely. light volume, no big issues on the blue route. on the ben franklin bridge westbound traffic coming into the city no delay. all lanes opened. eastbound we do have the right lane blocked with construction but no problems on the ben franklin bridge. in fact all your area bridges
looking pretty good right now. we do have a couple of accidents, though. so you want to watch for it here in lower moreland on huntington pike at chestnut street as well as meetinghouse road and delene road. a couple accidents in montgomery county. here's a live look at i-95. this is actually the boulevard. we see that that southbound traffic headed towards the schuylkill and moving okay at this point. not seeing a big problem right now. traffic is looking okay. little bit of building volume out there but no major problems, matt and tam. >> okay, thank you karen. developing overnight, man was strolling into his home after grabbing a little takeout for dinner but his pleasant night ended with him attacked robbed and shot after assailants forced their way into his home. let's head over to katherine scott live in front of police headquarters with more details. googood morning, katherine. >> reporter: good morning, tam and that 28-year-old victim remains in stable condition. police say there are some surveillance cameras in that area so they're hoping there's some footage that can help in this investigation and police were out at that scene many
scene overnight in fern rock. this happened just before 12:30 this morning on north 12th street on the 5900 block and when police got there, they found a man inside his first floor apartment. he had been shot in his leg. he was also bleeding a lot from a cut on his head. police think he was either pistol whipped or hit with pipe that was found at the scene. he was taken to einstein hospital and again is in stable condition. the victim told police he had just gotten takeout food, had parked his car to go inside his home when two masked men came up to him. they both had guns. they forced him inside his apartment at gun point. his girlfriend had been inside the apartment. she wasn't injured and was being interviewed by police. the men ransacked the place but the victim told police only his rolex watch was taken. >> while inside the apartment, for some unknown reason, the 28-year-old victim was shot. we're not sure at this time if there was a struggle or why one of the perpetrators shot the victim but he was shot one
time in the leg. >> reporter: and the two suspects fled through the front door. they were last seen getting into an older model dark colored nissan. it was going north on 12th. northwest detectives want to hear from you if you have any tips. we're live at police headquarters, katherine scott, channel6 "action news. >> okay, katherine, thank you. it's 6:04. also developing philadelphia is working to -- philadelphia police i should say are working to piece together a violent home invasion an nasty car crash in southwest philadelphia. police say three men walked into a home and shot a 52-year-old man and threatened his 23-year-old wife. three children were in the home at the time but they were not hurt. police discovered a weapon outside of the crime scene on the 1100 block of south ruby street. police also found a gun inside an overturned car at 51st and locust streets. we'll have much more on this story coming up in the next half hour. >> gunfire in a philadelphia neighborhood has a 14-year-old boy fighting for his life. shots rang out along the 1200 block of north tenth street in north philadelphia just before
9:00 last night. police discovered the teenager lying in the street with a bullet wound to the head. as officers took the teen to the hospital, a gun fell out of his pocket. they are still working to confirm that it is a real gun or maybe a bb gun. at this time it is unclewer who shot the teen or why. >> happening today, family and friends will remember the late jerry mondesire. he was a civil rights leader journalist and former president of the philadelphia naacp. he passed away at the age of 65a viewing will be held today at the saban funeral home at 12th and brown streets. tomorrow there will be a celebration of life service at bright hope baptist church. >> americans want to buy their stuff quickly and they want that stuff delivered not tomorrow but now. stacey delikat is filling in for maribel aber and tells us about a retailer that's doing just that live at the nasdaq if times square. hey, stacy. >> reporter: good morning, matt, that's right it is all about immediate gratification these days and now kohl's says it will offer same day
delivery service in philadelphia just in time for holiday shopping. the retailer is expanding the service to a total of 66 cities after testing it in san francisco and chicago. kohl's will be working with department liv which has contract drivers pick up the ordered items from stores and drop them off to customers. same day delivery service expected to be available in philadelphia in the coming weeks. checking the markets the dow jones industrial average made it seven winning sessions in a row yesterday. right now futures pointing to a lower open and index on the health of small business center city due out later today. and budweiser and miller may soon be part of the same company. anheuser bush and rival sab miller say they have agreed in prince foal a deal. ab would buy miller for $106 million. miller had turned about the previous offers for the rival. this would create a beer giant that sells one of out of every three beers worldwide. quite a big company, matt. >> you got that right. thanks stacy.
the democratic presidential candidates go head to head in their first debate tonight and an extra podium is ready if joe biden gets into the race within the next few hours. hillary clinton bernie sanders martin o'malley jim webb and lincoln chafee will be there in las vegas. hillary clinton's use avenue private e-mail server while secretary of state is likely to be part of the q and a. a review by the associated press released overnight found the server was vulnerable to hackers. clinton has apologized for using the server. she has not said how it was secured. >> turn now to dave murphy. we are enjoying a last few days. that can feel a little summer-like in the afternoon. you better enjoy them now. >> yeah, cooler air is coming in. storm tracker6 double scan we've got a coastal storm system passing up through new england taking showers up through new york and long island. dry conditions here and the farther west you look through the region the better chance you have of seeing some stars out rider now. there's center city on sky6 and those clouds are going to start to roll in from the west a little bit later on and
bring some showers but early on dry and perhaps a little sun squeezing out. 62 degrees currently in philadelphia. the number has bumped just a little bit in the city over the last half hour many do. down to 49 in allentown, run in reading. so cool this morning but these numbers are a little bit better than yesterday morning and the winds once again are fairly light. future tracker6 showing you how after some early sun the clouds thicken up around midday and there is the chance of a spotty shower coming through. the latest future tracker6 progression has most of this up to the north of philadelphia so that a lot of the region may not even see anything this morning. we'll allow for something but it may not wind up being that much and by five or 6 o'clock a couple more sprinkles and showers possible here or there. some of this stuff may take until later tonight to get by the shore and finally off the coast. but as you can see this isn't a lot of rain overall just some light nuisance showers for the most part. clouds and sun overall today in the lehigh valley. a cooler high of 69 degrees and a slight chance of a spotty shower but that certainly won't be the order of the entire day. that would just be here and
there. clouds and sun at the shore, spotty shower can't be ruled out as you just saw, 72 degrees the high down along the boards and in philadelphia we're going for a high of 73 with that mix of clouds and occasional sun and some spotty showers possible at times but dry most of the day. winds out of the southwest at eight to 16. so, later this afternoon the winds are up a little bit higher than yesterday and here's how the numbers are going to go. 59 by 8 o'clock, 66 by 11 o'clock. we spend the afternoon in the low 70's. 71 by 2 o'clock, 72 by 5 o'clock and your high of 73 right around 3:30 or 4 o'clock this afternoon. tomorrow the frontal boundary that's giving us this instability is off the coast and behind it we'll see the breeze rolling in from the west-northwest and cooler air arriving with a high of just 67 tomorrow and going on down from there as we head toward the end of the work week. your exclusive accuweather 7-day forecast, there's the fall apples for you, 73 degrees is today's high, clouds mixing with some sun and occasional spotty shower. tomorrow dry, a bit cooler, partly sunny and 67. and then lots of sun on

>> welcome back. chopper six on the scene of breaking news coming to us from aston delaware county. take a look at what chopper can see. this is the 400 block of garden lane, the fire breaking out around 4:30 this morning, crews out there for a couple of hours almost. heavy fire showing through. it started in the basement, spread to the upper floors, a little while ago we could see it coming out of the second floor. there's been a partial collapse on the first floor. crews have been doing everything they can to get in there and get this tamped down. we're told utility crews have also been called out. i guess some concerns about maybe gas lines, other things within that home. the also the red cross has been called out to help with three adults but for now we're not hearing anything about injuries but you can see incredibly smoky scene there. looking to see if we see flames but we definitely see a lot firefighter there is on the scene in aston, delaware,
the 400 block of garden lane. we'll keep an eye on this and bring you the latest as it comes in to us. >> let's turn to karen rogers for a look at the traffic problems out there. karen. >> yeah, we're looking live right now on 202 past 401. that's your northbound traffic head towards 422 moving okay. southbound we can see construction with the cones set up through this area. not causing too much of a slow go yet. for the most part we've got building volume. a couple at out there, one in lower moreland and huntingdon pike. two accidentsly in montgomery county. overall speeds looking good on the schuylkill expressway. even i-95 we're at 23 miles an hour. just had a live update near cottman looks miles an hour near girard and on route 42, that's your northbound traffic at creek road still looking pretty good. i want to go to the waze app for your commuter traffic report and show you coming in from work some of the different areas that you can take through the region right now. maybe we have that, maybe not. there you go. all right. so, with the waze app you can see if you're coming in from malvern into the city it's a 48 minute ride. if you were to take west chester pike so probably not
your best. 42 minute ride if you take route 30 to the blue route to the schuylkill but your best bet at this point is a 35 minute ride if you take 202 northbound to the schuylkill coming from malvern. let's look at the temperatures right now. we have no weather related problems. expecting a shower coming through later but currently 62 degrees, not feeling that bad out there. we did dip to 49 in allentown and 62 in millville but we've got a mild day today once again into the 70's. 73 to your high, matt and tam. >> thank you karen. newly released video shows an albuquerque police officer hitting a suspect with his vehicle in june. police say the man was wanted for trying to run over officers numerous times. cell phone video shows the man running from officers. the video does not show what happens next but you hear a vehicle engine rev, tires screech and then the sounds of a crash. police said an officer in his blue unmarked truck hit the man. none of the officers involved in the arrest have been disciplined. >> and we are here at the big board. we all know driving drunk can get you injured or even
killed. any uninhibited periscoping can get in you trouble. doing both will land in you jail and that's exactly what happened to this 23-year-old florida woman after a night of what appears to be heavy drinking. all streamed live on the periscope app. whitney beale did this. >> i'm driving home drunk. i'm really drunk. i am -- 57 people. oh, my gosh, i didn't know i would get this many people. >> not sure any of those 57 people were quite sure what she was thinking when she streamed this video live. but while she thought she was provide something sort of entertainment, several periscope viewers started calling 911. that's when an officer downloaded the live feed and figured out beale's location. she was then arrested on a dui charge. the live video that she put on the app may have gotten her in some serious hot water but it also may have saved her life and the lives of many others. matt. >> yeah, worked both ways. thank you erin.
a louisiana man is behind bars for crashing a stolen plane. he told police he stole it to impress a date. texas officials say nathan henley told the plane's owner he was going to wash the aircraft before a scheduled flight class but took it on a joyride instead. henley who is not licensed to fly took off with his date and they were not seriously hurt in the resulting crash. the plane ran out of fuel. >> ♪ >> don't date him. >> got to fill it up. >> that would help. >> it's 6:18. married to medicine, a paramedic makes a pit stop on her the way to her own wedding reception. david. >> sweatshirts on the kids although i don't know if they need the hoods because it's not all that windy. cool, though. this afternoon for one more day at least we can enjoy t-shirt weather after school for a couple of hours. i'll have your day planner forecast next and we'll check out the airport for those of you traveling.

melton was wearing all black at the time. police say the driver may not have realized they struck the man. >> a tennessee bride put her paramedic skills to work on her wedding day. a picture now going viral shows sara ray in her wedding gown there in the rain at the scene of the crash. a driver had run a red light and slammed into her family members. so ray and her husband who is also a paramedic immediately jumped out and went to the scene to help. her grandmother was sent to the hospital for a short time but then the wedding reception was able to go on. >> way to go. 6:27 and developing overnight, two people are wounded in two separate home invasions in philadelphia. >> also, when we come back, chopper six is live over some breaking news, a house fire in delaware county. we've got a full report up next. big fat zeros which means calm winds and as we head off to school and work, your storm tracker6 app has that 62 right now. probably down to about 59 by 8 o'clock and then we're getting mild again today. by noon, 68. by 3 o'clock, 72. and a high of 73 around 3:30 or 4:00 this afternoon, probably still above 70 by 6 o'clock. couple of more sprinkles and showers possible later in the day. it's not going to be a washout today, though, karen. most of the shower activity will be in the minority of the day and most of it just light and nuisance stuff. as we step inside we'll take a look at a cooldown coming starting tomorrow. >> dave we've got a new accident it's right on the schuylkill expressway. this is the schuylkill eastbound near the boulevard and i was watching live as police pulled up on the scene just a minute or two ago. we're seeing an accident here. looks like it's involving that truck and another vehicle, two vehicles, they were blocking a lane. it's been pushed off to the side but you could see the schuylkill eastbound kind of jamming up. a little tricky spot around that curve and i think we're looking live as we see more emergency workers. looks like a tow truck trying to cut over and get to the
scene. they always try to clear it out quick when will you've got an accident on the schuylkill because look at that traffic. watch how he just cuts in front of that guy. that was a little dangerous. 29 minute ride on the schuylkill eastbound from the blue route to the vine. the schuylkill eastbound new accident creating speeds at times we saw the single digits, now looking at about 16 miles an hour. a minute ago i looked at that and it was 9 miles an hour so very slow speeds on the schuylkill eastbound near the boulevard. we are also noticing slow speeds on i-95 southbound near girard, a 18 but even at cottman it's particularly heavy this morning traveling only about 19 miles an hour. this is i-95 southbound. here are you at cottman as you try to head towards center city. really backed up at this point. already a 30 minute ride. that's a pretty good sized delay at this hour from woodhaven to the 59 sign on i-95 southbound so you've got a jam on the schuylkill eastbound, a jam on i-95 southbound as well. we've been talking about this fire location in delaware county and we are seeing closures of garden lane near virginia lane. you could stick to schoolhouse as your alternate to that one but the big accident this morning right now is on the schuylkill expressway.
>> ♪ >> alall right, we are here in the sat center following breaking news coming out of aston which karen just mentioned. firefighters just got a house fire, pretty significant house fire under control. let's take a live look from chopper six overhead. you can see that heavy smoke billowing from the 400 block of garden lane. we understand firefighters are still work on some hot spots but a pretty impressive amount of spoke and you can see the house lit right there, some lights that are obviously set behind that house. again, smoke coming from that house. crews were called to the scene just past 4:30 this morning where heavy fire was showing through the second story single family house. it appears at this point that the fire started in the basement and then spread to the upper floors causing a partial collapse on the first floor and you can see how it really just gutted that. there's really nothing left on the front of that house. let's take a look at some ground video. obviously an emotional scene and a frightening morning for
people inside that home and the entire block. we haven't received any reports of injuries but the red cross has been called to as sister three adults. again, breaking news out of aston, that house fire started early this morning. we understand it is now under control but firefighters continue to stay in that area to fight some hot spots and we will keep you updated. obviously this has to be put under control completely and then the investigation will begin later this morning as to what caused the blaze but it did cause that partial collapse on the first floor. of course stay with "action news" and 6abc.com for any updates. live in the at light center erin o'hearn channel6 "action news." >> thank you erin. search is on for a trio of home invaders who shot a man and threatened his wife at gun point. police believe they have recovered a key piece of evidence from an entirely different scene. "action news" reporter katherine scott is live outside philadelphia police headquarters with the full story. katherine. >.>> reporter: matt, the
victim in this home invasion remains in critical condition at the hospital. police say it's too early to know if he's going to survive his injuries. his wife was threatened, his three young children were upstairs as this was all going on. police were able to speak with the victim's wife so they got a good idea about what happened last night in southwest philadelphia and police were called to the scene and they did get some evidence including a shell casing from a large caliber semi-automatic weapon and they also discovered another weapon on the porch of the home that police believe the suspects may have dropped while they were fleeing. just after 11 o'clock last night, police were called out to the 1100 block of south ruby street and when police got there they found a 50-year-old man lying on his living room floor. he had been shot in the head. he was bleeding heavily. police rushed him to presbyterian hospital. as i mentioned, investigators say the victim had been in the house with his wife, his three
children ages five, two and 10 months. they were upstairs. that's when flee men cam three n through the unlocked door. >> one of the perpetrators who was wearing a mask took the wife back into the kitchen, put a gun to her head and asked her where is the money? give me the money and threatened to shoot her. she stated she had no money and then she heard a gun shot coming from the living room. >> reporter: and around the same time that investigators were called to that home, there was a car crash reported at 51st and locust and when police arrived there, they found the overturned chevy right in the middle of the intersection. it had hit a parked car and flipped over. a bloody handgun was found inside of that vehicle. everyone inside the car had fled the scene but police believe that accident could be connected to the home invasion. we are live at police headquarters, katherine scott, channel6 "action news." >> okay, katherine, thank you. another home invasion is
under investigation as well in philadelphia. this one happened in fern rock on the 5900 block of north 12th street. detectives are looking for two men who ambushed a man who was walking into his home holding his takeout dinner. the duo forced themselves into the victim's apartment. police say the man was shot pistol whipped and possibly beaten way metal pipe. the search continues for three men wanted for the murder of a transgender prostitute. philadelphia police say pedro redding has confessed to his role in the crime but they say redding was not the trigger man. keisha jenkins was killed last week at 13th and wingohocking. detectives say this is not a hate crime that the motive was robbery and jenkins was shot after she fought back against the again. >> 6:37. philadelphia's new main mayoral candidates squared out of in a debate last night. democrat jim kenney and remember melissa murray bailey squared off in center city. plans for schools were discussed. >> universal prek is an absolute. we're working on plan right

we're looking at the arrival of showers in parts of the region later on this morning. ooh 62 degrees is your current temperature. winds out of the south-southwest at just 8 miles per hour. a little breezier out there this morning in some spots than it was yesterday but not a big difference. future tracker six showing you how through the morning we are mainly dry to start out but then the clouds start to fill in and by 10 or 11 o'clock out in the northern and western suburbs there's the possibility of some brief shower activity. the latest model runs have been taking most of this off to the north and then kind of floating it away from us later in the afternoon or evening, a couple of very small nuisance sprinkles and showers start to move in. this is not a washout today but at times there is the possibility of a shower and it's a good day to keep that future tracker6 and storm tracker6 app handy on your smartphone. 59 degrees by 8 o'clock. 66 by 11 o'clock and as tam mentioned we still have looking at that warm air. got a cold front out to the west that's not going to be through until later tonight. ahead of it we'll get into the 70's again noon. 71 by 2 o'clock, 73 is your
high probably around 3:30 or 4:00 and then still holding onto the low 70's as we head towards dinnertime. again, a slight chance of a pop-up shower here or there but dry most of the day. 69 degrees is the high in allentown. low 70's from philadelphia down through millville. and all the way to the shore. clouds mixing with sun and a spotty shower at times. tomorrow the front that's bringing us today's instabilities is off the coast and behind it as is often the case with front, we're going to get breezy with winds rolling in from the west-northwest and 67 degrees a cooler high and that is just the beginning of the cooldown. your exclusive accuweather 7-day, 73 today, clouds and sun, a spotty shower. tomorrow breezy a bit cooler 67. down to 65 under the sun on thursday and more clouds with another front on friday and a high of 64. just a spotty shower here. friday's showers are a lot like today's, it's just here and there. and then behind that frontal boundary look out. saturday a high in the 50's.
59 degrees. bundle up if you're headed to the temple game as i will be and then 56, lots of sun but pretty cool on sunday. and notice sunday's overnight low, 39 degrees. that means some suburbs will be down closer to the freezing mark and i wouldn't be surprised if sunday night some areas start to develop some frost overnight. yeah. >> we won't be able to ignore it when we come to work on monday morning. we'll be freezing once we step out the for you're right. >> it's 6:41. in-flight fallout. claims that an american airlines crew bullied a passenger off the plane. >> later a man risks his own life running into a stranger's home to save a pet dog from a fire. karen. >> neighbors are so nice. let's look outside on the schuylkill expressway. we've got a bad commute on the schuylkill its because of an accident that we've got near belmont. look at this traffic here at city avenue. completely jammed especially eastbound, a 31 minute ride from blue route to the vine. we'll show you the accident scene when "action news" comes right back.
>> 6:44. let's check the tuesday morning traffic with karen rogers. >> and you see the flashing lights. we've got a big accident. it's on the schuylkill expressway. was blocking a lane. it's now off to the side. we can see it right here. we're watching live as penndot kind of pulled up to the scene. they have a tow truck on the scene, police on the scene. all assisting with this accident and even though it's on the side we're seeing big delays now on the schuylkill expressway. this is happening eastbound just approaching the roosevelt boulevard. so, you want to watch for these delays. we've seen speeds earlier just in the single digits. we're up to the teens at times on the schuylkill eastbound. watch how slowly people are going by this accident scene approaching the boulevard so you're really slow at this point from conshohocken but then it really jams from belmont to the boulevard eastbound on the schuylkill
expressway. a heavy delay. a 34 minute ride from the blue route to the vine already right now. i want to pull in the waze app right now because if you're trying come in, let's say from king of prussia and you stay on the schuylkill expressway, right now it's a 51 minute ride. what you can do is take conshohocken state road, route 23, a 41 minute ride. that's a much better way to come in. try to avoid the schuylkill eastbound right now. and we can actually show you some of the speeds with that here on our big board. we're looking at at best about 13 miles an hour eastbound on the schuylkill especially heavy from belmont to the boulevard where we have that accident. but you could see how it really slows already approaching the conshohocken curve and then westbound you're no better than 15 miles an hour in that same area so really heavy. we've seen some very slow speeds now on i-95 southbound. looking at 16 miles an hour so watch for slow speeds particularly heavy approaching cottman and then near girard as well. we've had a couple of new accidents come in. this one's south broad street at allentown road. that's a new accident as well as one on frankford and academy road so a couple of accidents outer there this
morning. and i-95 i've noticed quite a jam-up here near cottman especially. already a 34 minute ride from woodhaven to the vine even though no big weather related problems, 62 degrees right now in philadelphia. headed up to 73 so it's nice and mild this afternoon. matt and tam. >> okay, thank you, karen. a very sad story here. developing overnight two firefighters in kansas city, missouri were killed and two others were injured when a burning building collapsed. crews were dispatched to the blaze around 7:30 last night where they found an apartment building heavily damaged. the chief says the firefighters rescued two people carrying them out of the second floor on ladders before a wall collapsed. none of the firefighters have been identified yet. there's no word on the condition of the two firefighters who were injured. >> and this is new. passengers booed an american airlines flight crew over the treatment of a female passenger who was removed from the flight to oregon. >> (booing). >> a witness says a flight attend dander told a woman to
move out of the aisle. the woman felt the attend daunt was rude and went to another crew member. then the original flight attendant came back. >> are you serious. >> oh, my god. >> i didn't even know he was talking to me. i can't do it. this can't be legal. >> some passengers are filing complaints over the attendant's conduct. american airlines is investigating the incident. >> ♪

matt and tam back to you. >> we'll be watching. thanks amy. >> we've got an accident, headaches if you're traveling on the schuylkill expressway. this is a live look at the schuylkill expressway. the accident there in the process of trying to clear it off to the shoulder on the schuylkill eastbound at the boulevard but we very quickly saw the speeds just slow down because of this. and right now we're looking near city avenue. and eastbound you see how that traffic is really jammed. in this shot it's really jammed in both directions here but from the blue route to the vine it's a 35 minute ride eastbound on the schuylkill expressway this morning. overall mass transit better way to go. we've got no reported problems dave. >> love to see that all green graphic karen. on the big board this morning chilly startup temperatures but not quite as cool as this time yesterday. 52 in slatington and fleetwood. mid-50's in saint davids. across the river in south jersey, 57 in glassboro, five hammonton. 56 on the boardwalk in ac and low 60's as we travel down through the state of delaware. if you're dressing the kids obviously it's cool enough for a sweatshirt. not all that windy so maybe
they can leave the hood down. this afternoon, though, t-shirts for at least one more day for a couple of hours. and here's why. we are going get up into the 70's again today. by 9 o'clock, your errand running weather cool, 61 degrees. by noon, 68 and there could be a couple of showers around late in the morning in through about midday or early afternoon. and then your high today is going to be 73 degrees late in the day around 4 o'clock and then down to 71 by 6 o'clock. a couple more light scattered sprinkles possible late this afternoon and this evening. matt and at a many. >> thanks, david. new on "action news" an off duty firefighter went into rescue mode when he passed a burning home in tennessee. tim toe water calmly carried an 80 pounds pet dog out of a stranger's home in springfield. he spotted the fire while driving and made the snap decision to rush in. the homeowners were out of town and were able to later thank their hero in person. >> he didn't have to go into a house that was on fire. deeply appreciate that man being there. >> i don't do it for people to say thank you and pat me on the back. ooh you do it because it needs to be done.
chopper six high in the sky and the action cam on the ground showing you all of the debris. that house pretty much burned out there. this is the 400 block of garden lane. firefighters still on the scene looking out for any flareups. the red cross is helping out three adults. developing overnight a gunman shot a man in the head critically wounding him in his own southwest philadelphia home. another gunman demanded money from the man's wife. the bandits, three of them, may have crashed a car before getting away. a weapon and a shell casing were found at the home. philadelphia police are looking for two men in separate violent home -- another violent home invasion this one on 12th street in fern rock. ended with a man shot and pistol whipped possibly with a metal pipe. he's being treater in a hospital. >> i've got an update on that accident on the schuylkill expressway. one of the vehicles has been towed. we still see police and a truck on the scene off to the side on the schuylkill eastbound near the boulevard. a 31 minute ride. penndot has left the scene. one of the vehiclesed to weigh but it's still causing headaches, dave. >> cool this morning, mild this afternoon again. 61 degrees by 9 o'clock.
