we're up to the double digits in philadelphia and as we get past sunrise and into the latter morning and afternoon hours we're looking at breezes between 10 and 20 miles per hour so a bit breezy and definitely cooler. 56 degrees by 6 o'clock, 57 by 8 o'clock, so you'll need the coat early, partly cloudy and cool and this afternoon still going to be seasonably mild but cooler than yesterday when we got up into the mid 70's. 57 at 8 o'clock on your storm tracker6 app. by noon, 64. 68 by 3 o'clock. and your high today is going to be 69 degrees at about 4 o'clock this afternoon. again, partly sunny, breezy and cooler than yesterday. gets even cooler in the accuweather 7-day forecast. we'll have more on that coming up, karen. >> all right, well, not a bad commute n no weather related problems for you. looking live on the vine street expressway we're seeing traffic move in both directions. the vine was closed overnight but they reopened a little bit earlier than scheduled, a few minutes before 5:00 a.m. it will close again tonight at 11:00 p.m. until tomorrow at 5:00 a.m. so you want to watch for that construction that will be ongoing on the vine street expressway. here we are on the roosevelt boulevard. that's your southbound traffic
headed towards the schuylkill. little bit more volume than we saw half hour ago but it's early so traffic moving okay there. and here at 95 at broad street in south philadelphia traffic moving nicely but do you have the flyers tonight at 8 o'clock so you might want to take the extra trains that they're running at 7:08 and 7:18 to get you there on time instead of sitting in the traffic. i-95 looking good right now but we certainly expect it to be congested later. a quick look at the big picture. speeds mostly in the 40's and 50's. a good start to the day. matt and tam. >> thank you, karen. developing overnight a motorcycle rider has been killed in a crash in delaware county. this happened late last night at market and chestnut streets in boothwyn. the biker died at the scene. a car with significant damage to the front passenger side stopped on the side of the road. police are still investigating what exactly happened here. >> authorities in camden county continue to question a father about his son's desk. however, there are no arrests or charges in the case. 100 neighbors and friends held a vigil for three-year-old brendan creato last night.
the boy's body was found yesterday about a half mile from his father's home in a wooded area of haddon township. authorities are awaiting an autopsy before releasing any details on the suspected manner or cause of death. creato's parents live separately. his mother released this statement. we will bring it now a live report at 6:00 a.m. mourners lit candles in north philadelphia in memory of duval johnson last night. someone shot the 14-year-old in the head on the 1200 block of north tenth street on monday. johnson died yesterday. police have not named a suspect or offered a motive. >> police expect to arrest a serial robber today. she's accused of stealing from older residents in kensington. investigators have surveillance video of the woman on 3300 block of mascher street. she's robbed nine homes in the area. she befriend residents first talking to them to con her way inside. she told olga marrero she was bleeding.
once inside she stole $300 in christmas gift money. all of it was saved for marrero's grandchildren including one who is seriously ill now. marrero talked exclusive to "action news." >> probably like january. >> reporter: so you've been saving that money all year. >> yeah, yeah, uh-huh, my husband, too. >> in another case she brought a child along to help con her way into a home. police say they know who the woman is but have not identified her because she hasn't been charged yet. >> ♪ >> what happens in vegas stays in vegas but not last night. in fact many of the topics covered in the first democratic debate will likely be ringing in the ears of voters until november. next november that is. the five candidates focused more on policy than finger pointing. hillary clinton appeared polished and confident but wasn't able to avoid the controversy surround her e-mail. however, she had some unlikely support. >> i've taken responsibility for it. i did say it was a mistake and i have been as transparent as
i know to be. >> people are sick and tired of hearing about your damn e-mails. >> thank you. me, too, me, too. >> the candidates also addressed the issue of gun control and even took questions from facebook. >> the nra gets its way in our congress and we take a back seat. >> i would bring the gun lobby in and say we've got to change this. where could we find common ground? >> do black lives matter? >> i risked my political life raising the issue of criminal justice reform. >> they voted for moderates, they voted with the hope that there was turmoil. >> we've been seeing that political ad running on our tv screens urging joe biden to throw his hat in the race. so, will he or won't he is expected to make an announcement this week but a lot of people pulling for him saying run, joe, run. >> wonder what he thought of the debate. >> he didn't show up. they had a lectern for him just in case. thanks so much erin. the iowa caucus is about three and a half months away.
we are less than three weeks away from the philadelphia mayoral election. i've been talking to the major candidates democrat jim kenney and republican melissa murray bailey. you can watch my latest segment of go pro politics which is on aggressive policing right now on my facebook page. >> let's turn now and talk to dave murphy about what you can expect in accuweather the last few days have been great, cool mornings, lovely afternoons. what about today? >> not too bad. storm tracker6 live double scan shows we're starting out dry so the showers we had at times yesterday are gone. as we take a look outside it's a decent morning out there, a little bit on the cool side. there's sky6 looking at the ben franklin bridge. obviously everything's dried up from yesterday's sprinkles and showers. but it is going to be a bit on the breezy side as we roll through the day. in fact right now got a 10 miles per hour wind at the airport. temperatures 57 degrees. there's that wind out of the west-southwest and it is cool to start out across the area. satellite and radar shows you how we're probably going to get some early sunshine but a lack of real significant clouds although there are some
clouds sweeping in pretty quickly and it's going to be one of those days where at times the clouds are winning out, at times the sun is winning out and overall we'll call it partly sunny. we're going get up top a seasonable high later on. 57 degrees by 8 o'clock, 62 by 11 o'clock and sixty six by 2 o'clock. our average high today has just slipped to 67 degrees as of this afternoon. we're going to go to 69 which is in that vicinity and 4 o'clock is more or less when you can expect that high temperature. breezy, partly sunny, a little cooler than yesterday when we got up into the mid 70's. 67 in allentown, 68 in reading, 69-degree readings up and down the i-95 corridor. i wouldn't be totally shocked if a couple spots actually hit 70 and then 68 down the shore. not a big difference between the shore and areas to the north. high pressure in control for tomorrow. mostly sunny and nice as a result. but it will be even cooler with a high of just 65 degrees and that's going to be the trend with temperatures continuing to dip as we head toward the weekend. on friday, a frontal boundary arrives, too, and gives us the possibility of a couple of showers but like yesterday i don't think friday's showers

>> ♪ >> hey everyone, it's midweek and it is 5:42. we're taking a live look at philadelphia international airport. look at that. we have dipped into the 50's this morning. >> let's head over to karen rogers. nice cool morning out there. how is the commute? >> well, we've got some construction out there that's causing problems but it's half wrapped up so i guess that's good. this is the route one super highway at 413. northbound the construction has cleared. southbound we can see they're in the process of picking up but crews are still out there on the scene. traffic is getting by, not causing too much of a delay here in bucks county but the crews still out there working. in upper hanover township we've got a new accident. garyville pike shut down in both directions right at 663. so you went the watch for this accident coming in to us in upper hanover. also in new jersey on 295
northbound between 42 and 168, we do still have construction out there. it's a bad spot for construction. they're still out there and you know that's going to create a slow go for you right now near bellmawr camden county. i want to switch over to the waze app and talk about the best ways to come to work right now. as we do that we can check some of the different routes. so if you're coming in this morning from radnor township and you're trying to get in, you know the easiest way would be the direct way you would think would be west chester pike, take that through broomall. that's a 36 minute ride. it's a 37 minute ride if you take lancaster avenue but if you go a little further out of the way and you look at this, if you can take earl's lane to sproul road, the blue route to the schuylkill expressway, actually only 29 minute ride so you might not think going out of are way even at this early hour is the best bet but sticking on the highway your best route right now. let's take a look right now at the temperatures around the region. only about 3 degrees colder right now, cooler than it was yesterday morning so it doesn't feel too bad just yet. 57 degrees right now in philadelphia. now, yesterday we made it up to 76. not the case today. staying in the 60's.
69. so feeling more autumnal. partly sunny and breezy, a nice day ahead, matt. >> thanks karen. new this morning, a small plane crashed into a mobile home park in florida. fire officials say there are an unknown number of victims. managers of the communities in palm springs say first responders pulled three bodies from the wreckage late last night. one witness said the plane swayed side to side before it suddenly dropped on two homes that burst into flames. the faa is investigating the crash. >> new this morning, princeton university public safety officers will soon have access to rifles. the guns could be used in case of campus emergencies involving active shooters or armed suspects. the policy change will be implemented officer the next several months. the officers do not carry guns in general while they're on duty. currently princeton police respond to incidents involving an armed suspect or active shooter. >> ♪ >> and developing this morning, there are reports that former nba star and chloe
kardashian's estranged husband lamar odom is in a coma. the 35-year-old was found unconscious inside a nevada brothel last night. authorities plan to fly him to a hospital in las vegas but law too tall to fit in the helicopter. the owner of the love ranch said odom had consumed cognac and ann heche balance supplement but has no knowledge of him taking other drugs. this condition is not known but tmz is reporting that he is in fact in a coma. chloe kardashian filed for divorce from odom in 2013 citing irreconcilable differences bit the divorce has not been finalized. hayden panettiere gave birth in december. a spokeswoman said the actress entered treatment voluntarily and is asking for privacy at this time. tam, back to you. >> we wish her well. this is new. the navy's top official confirmed the services discussing extra time off for

cinnaminson, 54 in hammonton and 57 avalon. low to mid-50's up and down the state of delaware. if you are running errands today it's going to be a decent day to get that done. 58 degrees by 9 o'clock, 64 by noon. if you like cool and somewhat breezy conditions the morning is your time of day. this afternoon seasonably mild, 68 degrees at 3 o'clock. we'll get a high of 69 probably around 4 o'clock. and there will be a 10 to 20 miles per hour breeze through most of the afternoon. dry out there, though, and pretty seasonably nice. tam. >> okay, thank you david. well, a wisconsin store has ordered actually a jury has ordered a wisconsin gun shop owner to pay nearly $6 million to two police officers. they were shot with a gun purchased at the store. the officers filed a negligence lawsuit against the owners and operators of badger guns. the suit alleged the shop allowed an illegal sale despite several warning signs that the weapon was being purchased for someone else who couldn't buy it legally. the officers were shot in the face during a traffic stop in 2009. there's new information about the woman who shot at
two shoplifters at a home depot in michigan last week. police have charged the 46-year-old with reckless discharge of a weapon. tatiana rodriguez says she saw a man push a cart full of stolen items toward a getaway car. she has a license to carry a concealed weapon and thought her actions would help stop the suspects escape. instead the county prosecutor called her actions disturbing. the two shoplifters have been arrested. >> ♪ staci, you have got to get down here.
