moving fine they opened it a half-hour ago. >> breaking right now, police are on the look out for a robber who stabbed a retail employee at a northeast philadelphia store and took off with a tv. katherine scott is live at the walmart at the philadelphia mills mall with surveillance pictures. >> reporter: that's right, matt, police are hoping someone recognizes the man in the surveillance pictures and gives tips about his whereabouts. his forearm, the cashier, i said say, his forearm was slashed while trying to stop the customer from leaving the store. it's on the 4300 block of byberry road. let's go to the picture of the suspect. there are surveillance cameras inside and outside the store. he tried to leave the walmart with the shopping cart and two boxings of boots and flat screen

tv worth $400. when the cashier asked to see receipt. he showed him an old receipt for something valued at ten bucks. that's when things got confrontational. when the cashier told police, the suspect said let it go or i will kill you. he pulled a folding knife from his pocket and lunged toward the cashier trying to stab him. the cashier blocked that and that's when he was stabbed. the suspect ran out of the store with the is of and the customer ran out of after the suspect. >> the customer tried to ram the perpetrator's car with a shopping cart. the perpetrator sped off and

went left on franklin mills boulevard. >> reporter: customers were coming inside and outside the store, but the police are on the scene. the suspect was driving a light gray smaller vehicle with a hatch back. the boxes of boots were left behind. they will be dusted for from time to time because he wasn't wearing any gloves. if you have any tips, northeast detectives want to hear from you. katherine scott channel 6 "action news." >> 5:05. a woman is on the mend after being shot in philadelphia's west oak lane section. gunfire erupted near north 20 account street. she was sitting in the car when she was shot in the back of the neck. she is in serious, but stable condition, no arrests have been made. police rounded up a number of johns after a prostitution sting in camden last night. under cover agents posted as

prostitutes. authorities say the men come from all over south jersey looking to buy sex. >> we have had some professional people that come from the office, we have blue color workers -- collar workers, we have locals. stings are necessary in order to clean up the city. authorities offer rehab services to the prostitutes involved many who they say are heroin addicts. >> a tree fell and killed a person in the western suburbs. dispatchers say it happened near the border of berks and chester county. crews rushed to the reading furnace road in wore wick township at 4:00 p.m. the victim was grinding a tree stump at the time. a slick and inventive burglary at a center city jewelry store on 19th street on wednesday night. the burglar got into the shop by

precipitation. as we look outside we have clouds for the most part over center city. i could see some sun early. i think overall we're looking at a mix of clouds and sun and best chance of a shower north of philadelphia, during the rush hour later afternoon sunrise. the rest of the day is likely dry at least mostly. 54 degrees in philadelphia. the number has dropped. winds out of the southwest at 6 miles per hour. not all that strong this morning. future tracker 6 shows the line of showers mainly off to the north at 7:00 and then well get into a portion of the day where it's bright. maybe a sprinkle in some northern areas, but looks like the chance of precipitation is the main story. 53 degrees by 8:00. 60 by 11:00. 64 by 2:00. 67 is the high around 4:00 p.m. high temperatures from north to south, looking manageable. 64 degrees and breezy in

allentown. cool enough for a coat. a lot of 67s in the center portion of the region and similar numbers down the shore. we have a crush of cold air masses north of the hudson bay. highs in the 50s and lows in the 30s. this is an air mass that will put us ten to it went degrees below average. there's a chance of frost. saturday night there will be some. sunday night it will be widespread. all the areas have a chance of this outside of the areas down the shore and urban centers along the i-95 corridor. it will be cold there, but not enough for frost. get the potted plants in and bring in the hoses and turn over the water to the outdoor spigots. saturday night it will be chilly for temple ucf. i will be there. bundle up a little bit.

thinking which way do i go to work. if you were to take lancaster avenue, 41 minute ride that's the shortest distance, the schuylkill expressway is a little out of the way. it will only take you 29 minutes with the light volume on the schuylkill expressway no problems there. 48 in martins creek, 45 in quakertown. 43 in coatsville. 50 in center city. 56 in hammonton, 54 in dover, delaware. it's another day similar to yesterday, temperatures stuck in the 6 and breezy. >> new this morning, a baby girl who police say was tossed from her mother's 6th floor apartment in new york city has died. police arrested the mother and sent her to the hospital for psychiatric valuation. the three other children were placed with the child welfare. this is the third death of a child posed from a new york apartment buildings since august. customers from a target in
