looking at drying conditions though and as you take a look at satellite and radar most of the rain is out of the area and we have some cloudy skies over to the south and west of us but there are in breaks in those clouds beginning now across the region and things are improving. 55 degrees currently in philadelphia. 53 in allentown. 54 in millville and as we take a look at the bus stop forecast this morning, 51 degrees by 6 o'clock and 54 by 8 o'clock. partly cloudy and cool. and dry in most spots with those clouds beginning to show some holes in the action and continuing to improve. by 8 o'clock, 54 degrees. by noon, 62. and by 3 o'clock, 65 degrees. that will be your high. 59 degrees will be the 6 o'clock temperature and it does look like it's going to be pretty good this afternoon for veterans day ceremonies, a little above average temperature-wise and a bit on the breezy side with some sun coming back. karen, we do have a little rain in the forecast tomorrow. i'll have mosh on that coming up. >> all right dave as we honor our veterans today and you head out to work we expect to have a lighter volume as some

people have off today. we're looking lie at i-95 at cottman. it's a bit damp but no other problems. southbound traffic headed towards center city moving nicely. no extra overnight construction and no delays. it's still pretty early. vine street expressway open in both directions. the crews had to cans tell their work, once again that that's two nights in a row they had to cancel because of the weather. tonight they'll close to the vine in both directions until about 5 o'clock tomorrow morning. a couple nasty accidents. this one in fairmount park arc single vehicle accident smashed into the guardrail here. lincoln drive at rittenhouse street. police on the scene with this. another accident in montgomery county just cleared a minute ago on john fries highway at north gate boulevard so watch for. that we have a lot of wet leaves out there. even though the roads are trying to dry it it could be slippery in spots. a couple accidents already. take it easy matt and tam. >> "action news" obtained surveillance pictures of an armed man who police in delaware say put a 71-year-old woman through a frightening ordeal. "action news" reporter katherine scott is live where this all began at that wawa in new castle.

katherine. >> reporter: matt, and police are looking for the public's help. they're hoping that someone recognizes this suspect. the victim is a 71-year-old woman. we're told that she wasn't hurt but that the investigation into this continues. police say she was approached outside of this wawa in new castle. the man had a gun. the incident did not end there. but let's go to a picture of the man police are looking for. you can see him right here. he was wearing an orange shirt and police believe he's between 40y 40 and 50 years old. new castle county police were called about this around 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon and police say the 71-year-old victim had left the wawa in philadelphia pike and beeson road in new castle when the suspect came up to her. he had a handgun and demanded cash. investigators say the suspect forced her to drive to the wawa on dupont highway and memorial drive in wilmington. the victim told police she gave the suspect cash before he fled in an unknown vehicle. the exact details, how exactly the cash was obtained whether

it was an atm or otherwise and how much police haven't yet said. this all happened -- they released this information overnight so we're waiting for more details today. but no injuries were reported. if you have any tips, new castle county police want to hear from you. we're live in new castle, katherine scott channel6 "action news." >> katherine, thank you for that. police in montgomery county are investigating a violent domestic incident. a man was seriously hurt in a stabbing. it happened at a home on acorn street in lansdale late last night. the man suffered multiple stab wounds. in he's in the know critical condition. it's not clear who stabbed him or why. >> i'm erin o'hearn. new this morning a man asking for samples of children's hair is also accused of trying to lure a four-year-old boy into his vehicle. reading police released this surveillance picture of the suspect's volkswagen jetta. the incident happened friday on the 500 block of minor street. authorities say the man told residents he was collecting the samples on behalf of an amber alert.

the four-year-old boy he's accused of trying to lure was not harmed. if you've seen this vehicle call reading police. a lane us in crime out of hatfield. a six-year-old girl was raped and sexually assaulted in her bedroom. now the suspected predator is behind bars. police say oscar herrera broke into the girl's apartment through a living room window. court documents state the little girl was woken up by a male behind her threatening to hurt her and her family if she didn't shut up. her rare are a apparently didn't know the girl's 11-year-old brother was in the bunk below. when he heard her screaming, he ran to get their parents for help and the mother then grabbed the girl out of her bed. >> have to give great credit to this 11-year-old boy who had the courage to step up and help his sister and great courage to the family for their restraint that they exercised in what i can only imagine was an absolutely harrowing circumstance. >> herrera admitted to breaking into the same unit months earlier when no one was iny inside. his bail is set for a million dollars.

>> "action news" learned overnight that a woman hurt during a collision with a deer and a car has died. the animal crashed right through the toyota that jamie piscopo was riding in on sunday. this happened on route nine in delaware city. the 48-year-old had serious injuries and she died at christiana medical center yesterday. now this is the height of deer mating season so they're more likely to be out near and crossing roads to get to one another. so state gaming commissioners are urging drivers to stay alert. >> time is now 5:36 and mayor michael nutter will join other city and state officials at the korean war memorial to honor veterans on this veterans day. before that the mayor will lead a wreath laying ceremony at the too many of the unknown e revolutionary soldier at washington square. all veterans who attained noontime ceremony at the veterans memorial will receive a 50th anniversary commemorative pin. >> in the afternoon but even the morning not bad. storm tracker6 live double

scan shows us that that rain from yesterday is continuing to push farther and farther away from us to the northeast. not out of the question that some of you north and east of philadelphia are seeing a little drizzle but i think most of that is beginning to die away for you. as we take a look outside we have cloudy skies overhead but you can see the clouds are much higher than they were yesterday, easy to see the tops of the center city sky scrapers and we'll start seeing some breaks in those clouds as we go through the morning then the afternoon. temperature 55 degrees currently. the winds out of the northwest at seven. every now and then it's a little bit breezy out there with winds going a bit higher than that later and there again is that rain getting on out of here. still a fair amount of cloud cover but you can see some breaks here or there. and generally speaking it does look like we are transitioning to a clouds and sun mix as we roll through the day. 54 degrees by 8 o'clock. by 11 o'clock, 61. and then by 2 o'clock, 64 with a high of 65 degrees this afternoon. at about 3 o'clock. that's pretty good considering that today's average shy in the up are 50's so not bad for veteran and everybody else who wants to go out and about

today. high temperatures accomplish olittle bitof a range. down the shore low 60's for the most part. clouds mixing with sun and then tomorrow we ease the temperature down to 63 as clouds will increase as a frontal boundary comes in and an area of low pressure wraps by to our north. there will also be a few light rain showers around as you can see only totaling about a quarter inch of rain and then behind that on friday blustery and gusty winds arriving. as for tomorrow's rain, cloud cover in the morning. it doesn't look like it's all that wet during the morning commute but later in the morning and then in through midday there's that chance of a shower or two. and fortunately looks like it's probably over in most neighborhoods in time for the evening commute. the two commutes mainly dry but in between some light rain. your exclusive accuweather 7-day, clouds mixing with some sun today, a high of 65 degrees for veterans day. a nice afternoon for ceremonies and not too bad this morning. tomorrow as you just saw some periods of light rain. otherwise, clouds, some sun and a high of 63. and then on friday, behind

that system, windy and cooler, a lot of sun on friday but a high of just 58 degrees. and then on saturday, still on the windy side and even cooler with a high of 54. the winds do die down on sunday. the sun comes back. then we get a high about 60 degrees. it's really going to be nice weather at lincoln financial field for the eagles-miami dolphins and all those eagles fans and those win or two dolphins fans will be there. on monday still nice back up into the low 60's and 66 degrees on tuesday with increasing clouds. might have some rain around the middle of next week. >> continuing to love fall david. >> not too bad this november, right. >> you give us no choice. thanks, david. 5:39. still ahead on "action news" police are eyeing foul play in a mysterious death in a new york suburb. it involves the wife of a millionaire mcdonald's franchise owner. >> local developers create a wearable device made to help women fight off attackers. karen. >> a new accident involving this vehicle facing sideways right on the ramp from i-95 northbound to woodhaven road. it is damp out there.

the rain has let up but those roads are still saturated and kind of slick in some places. >> karen rogers taking a look at the accident. >> always tricky on-ramps too. we're looking live at the scene and watching as we see more emergency workers come to the scene. when i first showed you this it was just two vehicles out there by themselves. now they have fire crew ambulance police on the scene. this is the ramp from i-95 northbound to woodhaven road. i know it's dark. can you see this vehicle facing completely sideways on the ramp right here. i was watching as the guy got out of the car with a flashlight trying to warn people. he was worried someone was going to smack into it. traffic kind of squeezing by in the left lane but certainly creating a slow go. the ramp from i-95 northbound to woodhaven road, you can see more emergency workers on the scene right now. and watch how that traffic, thanks penndot as you pan back you can see the traffic is really slowing down in this area and yet another vehicle coming to the scene, a penndot truck as well trying to warn people about this accident.

that's i-95 northbound at woodhaven road. checking some construction in the suburbs around the area, radnor delaware county, croton road will close between upper gulph road and hillside road from 9:00 until 3:00 for the water main installation. construction on silver run road shut down between old corbett road and vance neck road. coming from west conshohocken coming into the city on schuylkill expressway a pretty easy 21 minute ride. no need to take any alternates. you're looking good this morning on the schuylkill so far. satellite6 and action radar showing all that rain from yesterday lifting out there. it's a little damp. we have a touch of drizzle in a couple spots this morning and certainly wet leaves on the roads. we saw a number of early morning accidents and i think that could be a contributing factor so slow it down. my dad used to always say wet leaves are like ice matt and tam. >> thank you karen. seattle's famed gum wall

getting a fresh start. powerful steam cleaners are blasting away 20 years of double bubble and double mint. crews will remove an estimated 1 million washington, d.c. of gum. the cleaning is expected to take three days but officials know traditions are hard to break. they expect people to start sticking gum right back on the wall. they just hope mainly they can contain the area to something smaller than the whole wall. >> new this morning, the murder of an elderly socialite has stunned an update new york city suburb. authorities say 83-year-old lois colley died from blunt force trauma. a caretaker found her body on monday evening in the laundry room of the woman's sprawling westchester county estate. there are no signs of forced entry and the only item missing is a small fire extinguisher. police say they don't have any suspects or a motive. colley's husband made his millions on several mcdonald's franchises. >> there's a lot of buzz about a device being developed by a company in university city. it's called athena after the greek goddess of war and courage its a wearable distress signaling device

>> happy veterans day and thank you to all veterans for your service. i'll be emceeing an event in south jersey i'm so excited this morning to go out there to see them. let's take a live look at your big problem this morning is the latest accident on the ramp from i-95 northbound to woodhaven road. and it's an accident involving a vehicle facing sideways. now we can see police and penndot there. they've set up some cones and flares trying to warn the drivers here. traffic is just kind of squeezing by in the left lane on the ramp from i-95 northbound to woodhaven road. watch for this accident causing a problem this morning. we had an accident here in fairmount park. a single vehicle accident, a car smashed into a guardrailly they just left the scene. you're moving better now at least dave on lincoln drive. little damp out there. >> all right, karen, drying out generally over the region, perhaps a little lingering spitting drizzle well to the north and east and east of philadelphia.

temperatures aren't too bad in the northern and western suburbs. we're in the low to mid-50's. 53 at pottstown, 52 in saint davids and more of the same in south jersey, 52 in glassboro. 52 -- or 54 i should say in buena, 53 in woodbine. same thing down the shore and very similar numbers up and down the state of delaware this morning. if you're out running errands, the later you wait the more mild it will be. still in the 50's by 9 o'clock but drying out with some sun coming back. by noon 62 and by 3 o'clock that's your high, 65. it is going to be a little bit breezy today but comfortable and as karen mentioned veterans day is looking pretty good for all those ceremonies so if you have plans to head out, dress appropriately for these numbers and remember that it is a little breezy but not a bad day at all. matt and tam. >> david thank you. philadelphia presented its marian anderson award to a world renowned jazz musician trumpeter wynton marsalis. >> ♪ (applause). >> the 54-year-old new orleans native received the award during a black tie gala at the kimmel center last night.

world war ii hero found their way back to a new jersey soldier's family just in time for veterans day. cheryl puorro received her grandfather's lost medals during a ceremony in toms river yesterday. one of them is a silver star the countrys are third highest decoration for valor. her grandfather anthony sordill served as a military doctor in north africa. sordill survived the war and died in 1997. pooh are row thanked nick dell prieto who found the medals. >> very appreciative. he was very nice. >> they belonged to a veteran that served and defended our country. a little emotional. >> dell preit who is a veteran said he found the medals at a flea market. puorro thinks the medals were lost during super storm sandy. >> crayola not just for kids. the crayon and arts company is targeted owing an older
