some dry air punch its way in to a few spots here in our first round of many rounds of rain. i want to show you right now storm tracker6 live 3-d because you can see a lot more rain is on the way. so we've got not just today but tomorrow as well two rainy days coming your way. satellite6 and action radar showing lots of clouds in place, rain here currently through the region, heavier rain just at our doorstep. it's going to be on and off through the day. the fog is an issue. visibility at philadelphia international airport at 3-mile visibility, 1.3-mile visibility in mount pocono. 3-mile in wilmington, five in millville. so, it's a little tricky to see in some of those spots. you've got rain coming down and fog as well. 49 degrees right now philadelphia. yesterday our high was 47. so, we've already surpassed yesterday's high. we're talking about a mild couple of days but a wet couple of days. let's look at how this is going to spell out for you. by 9:00 a.m. 52 degrees with rain coming down by noon, 53 rain and drizzle mixing in on and off through the day.
by 3:00 p.m., 55. in the late evening and nighttime hours it gets a little quiet, kind of a lull in the action and then it comes right back for tomorrow, more rain on the way so we'll talk about this its a lot going on in the forecast. i'll walk you through it in that seven-day forecast in a few minutes matt. >> quiet would be nice but that's not what we expect this morning on the traffic front. already, karen, we have several issues including this one in northeast philadelphia, the blockage of the ramp from woodhaven road eastbound to i-95 southbound. it's because a tractor-trailer right there jackknifed on the ramp. so they've closed the ramp entirely. if you're trying to get to 95 southbound do so via street road or academy road instead of woodhaven road this morning. had a broken down vehicle on the boulevard northbound at devereaux. that's cleared out of the way. as is a crash there was on the ramp from the schuylkill eastbound at 26th street. head toward the platt bridge and the airport. that ramp is completely reopened. and so, too, is the vine street expressway. overnight construction cleared out in both directions here by the schuylkill. it's wet, it's a little bit foggy but we're moving okay. construction crews will,
however, return tonight at 11 o'clock and each night this week for more work. getting word of a bad few crash in parkesburg in the southbound lanes of route 10, past sadsbury road. we're hearing someone is trapped in the wreckage. good spot to avoid. east nottingham chester county downed pole closing baltimore pike near twin house road. barnsley road or route one oxford bypass are alternates. tam. >> thank you matt. developing overnight a shooting in north philadelphia has wounded a 21-year-old man and damaged several parked cars. nearly two dozen shell casings littered the scene on the 2900 block of north fourth street. the victim is in the hospital with at least two gun shot wounds. some people near the scene are now in police custody and we'll have a live update on this investigation coming up in our next half hour. >> and new this morning, investigators are working to determine the cause of an overnight fire in gloucester county. the action cam was on the scene in walnut street and winslow road in monroe township at midnight. a home under construction caught fire.
it took firefighters half an hour to get it under control. no one was hurt. two philadelphia firefighters and a third person were hurt when a garage fire in olney quickly spread to a nearby building. chopper six was over the 100 block of west wellens street last night when the flames were really cooking there. they shot through the roof of the one-story garage and it took nearly an hour to contain this fire. none of the injuries are life-threatening. >> a judge in the poconos listened to hours of testimony. when it was done he decided five members of a baruch college fraternity should go on trial for a pledging death. one of the frat brothers took the stand in a deal with prosecutors. he told the judge they and the other defendants tried to cover up what really happened to 18-year-old michael deng. police say the men waited an hour before taking deng to the hospital after he fell unconscious during a violent hazing ritual in monroe county back in 2013. >> i'm erin o'hearn here at the big board. happening today the delaware river port authority will start its commuter discounts
for frequent travelers over the four bridges which connect pennsylvania to south jersey. to take advantage of the new discount plan you must enroll. commuters could then make 18 or more trips on any of the drpa bridges in a calendar month will receive a credit of $18 that will go towards trips made the previous month. unfortunately the discounter is offered to private accounts only and can not be could combid with other toll discount programs. you must add this plan to your account by december 28th to receive credit for this month. you'll need your four digit pin. remember, this is just for jersey e-z pass holders. they'll try to make it available for pennsylvania e-z pass holders by the beginning of the year. tam. >> thank you erin. the sixers game tonight is a hot ticket but it kind of has nothing to do with the game itself as much as one of the men on the boards. kobe bryant is coming home to play his final game just two
days after announcing his retirement. annie mccormick is live outside the wells fargo center where it's going to be a special night tonight. good morning, annie. >> reporter: tam, it is and it's not only going to be a sentimental night for kobe bryant but also a number of people here in his hometown that helped him get to the nba. less than 24 hours from playing the sixers in philadelphia for the last time, kobe bryant did what any local does when they come home. stopped at his favorite spot to get a cheesesteak. later as bryant left larry's stakes in wynnefield he said this. >> feels good to be back. >> reporter: bryant will end his successful career on the court at the end of season after announcing his retirement from the nba over the weekend. the long time los angeles laker calls lower merion high school his university since he missed college opting tot to be drafted into the nba seven.
at lower merion last night, friends and fans expressed the pride they have for kobe including his coach who saw something in him from the start. >> i was the one comparing him to jordan. i thought that he was really going to have a lot of greatness and hall of famer amazing resume, five rings, 81 points performances, i saw it coming and i couldn't be prouder. >> reporter: now, back in the day kobe bryant's dad actually played several seasons with the sixers. tonight expect to see tributes to him. if you want to attend some of those we're told that you should head early ahead of the game. for now reporting live in south philadelphia, annie mccormick channel6 "action news." >> thanks, annie. now drivers are dealing with a rainy commute around here but at least it's not cold enough for snow. plows will be out in parts of minnesota for a second straight day. some parts of the state are expecting up to a foot from this two day snow event. this is part of the same system that caused dangerous
icing and flooding in the plains. >> and all of this is also affecting us. we're not getting that but we're getting precipitation. >> that cold front comes through our area, it's mild ahead of it so we're talking about temperatures well above average today and tomorrow as the rain comes down. i guess that's good news but it's still tricky to travel n let's take a look at storm tracker6 live double scan around the region and you can see a good amount of rain through the area but i want to go in a little closer with our street level view and show you some of the dry air slots that are trying to punch its way in. as you can see in parts of south jersey and right near malvern. so, yes, we have this rain. this is just round one of many rounds. but i think we're going to have a little lull as this pushes out before the next rounds can comes in. let's go on outside. we want to see what it looks like as you're heading out looking live at the platt bridge, you can see the fog. visibility down to 3 miles right now at philadelphia international airport. so, you not only have the rain you've got the fog to contend with as well. satellite6 and action radar showing that we've got those showers pulling through much of the region and then we get an area where maybe it's just
cloud d.c., a littlcloudy, a lif drizzle. just rounds of rain and drizzle coming through. we have on all right always on day planner to help you plan out your day. let's take a wider look here. the cold front is well out to the west. that's not coming through until tomorrow evening. so, we have not only today but tomorrow we're dealing with all this moisture that's going to get pressed through the area and behind that front colder air. so, we're going to be feeling the change but for today and tomorrow while it's wet it's at least mild so that's helping us out, even in the poconos. look at future tracker, 36 degrees at 9:00 a.m. so that's good news for traveling there. so, this is a look at 9 o'clock in the morning. you can see we still have rain through much of the area. we advance this to 1:30, same situation. on and off. some of it heavy at times. we get a little bit of a lull here or there at 6 o'clock we're looking at some rain in spots but you see drier in others and then in the overnight hours it gets a little quiet with the rain dying down before tomorrow's rain hits us so it's today and tomorrow we're dealing with
it. by 8:00 a.m. 51 degrees. by 11:00 a.m. v 2:00 p.m. 55. raining on and off. by 5:00 p.m. 56. some areas looking a little quieter and the rain in the overnight hours we get a lull in the action. 57 degrees for your high. temperatures well above average today. it's not just today but tomorrow. 48 hours dreary but mild, periods of rain. looks like the levers is going to be on wednesday. an inch to 2-inches of rain but your high temperatures in the 50's and 60's so we are at least just talking rain. we got to watch those wet levers. they're just as slick as ice sometimes let's look at your exclusive accuweather 7-day. periods of rain, 57 degrees for your high. rainy and mild tomorrow as well, 61. looks like tomorrow evening and nighttime we dry out. it turns cooler on thursday with some sunshine returning, 53. and then the weather gets kind of quiet. friday mostly sunny, 52. saturday a seasonable high of 51. sunday staying nice for hanukkah, 54. monday even milder.

[gunfire] police say it began when an officer tried to stop a wrong way driver in a jeep last night. the driver sped up, hit a shuttle bus and crashed into a pole near a hotel. investigators say two men jumped out of the jeep and ran off. the driver was arrested rider away. passenger exchanged gunfire with officers and was found dead a short time later. police say 33 found guns and a large amount of marijuana in that crashed jeep. >> lawyers for the convicted boston marathon bomber will be back in court today. the defense for dzhokhar tsarnaev wants a knew that i a different venue. they'll argue the jury pool could not be impartial. in june tsarnaev received the death penalty for his role in the 2013 attack that killed three people and injured hundreds more. a hearing to formally charged the accused planned parenthood shooter has been set for next week. the district attorney in colorado springs said robert dear could face more than the initial charge of first degree
murder. now little is known about the suspect on inn friday's deadly rampage but police records show a woman accused dear of sexual assault back in 1992. at the time dear told authorities that the encounter was consentual. no records show the outcome of that investigation. >> lang today philadelphia mayor elect jim kenney holds another town hall meeting. it begins at 7:30 p.m. at south philadelphia high school. kenny answered residents' questions last night at his first town hall. this one was held at central high in olney. residents asked him about schools and safety. kenny wants to create two dozen community schools in the city over the next four years. they would act as hubs where families could access health and social services. >> principals know what's going on in their schools. they also know the kids that are in trouble, the kids whose families are in trouble and we need to be able to communicate with them on a regular basis so we know what's going on in the neighborhood. >> a lot of parents are concerned with their children and the behavior throughout the city and the children not getting the proper education they need. >> kenny also heard about

>> flight attendant with american airlines faces charges on claims she attacked fellow crew members and u.s. marshals. a air marshal says other flight attendants told them joanne snow was acting erratically and they requested she not work the flight from charlotte to frankford germany. american airlines management didn't remove her. snow is accused of slapping a flight attend dander grabbing another air marshal's collar and striking him in the chest. >> new this morning, a louisiana family says a toy hoverboard set their house on fire. jessica lorn's 12-year-old son hayden says he plugged it in and sparks start ted fly from the wheels. the consumer product safety commission says it has had eight reports of hoverboard injuries in the last three months but they were all related to falls not to fires.
