22. pottstown, 21. we've had high temperatures monday through friday ranging from 56 to 49. this is the first time this month we've seen true arctic air in place. agenda -- gandys beach, 21 degrees, we have coastal storm getting better organized over the next few hours. all the moisture you see toward the bottom of the screen that stays out to sea. this is a big storm lots of rain and snow associated with it for the carolinas and the virginias, again we're expecting the majority of this, if not all of this so miss us out to sea. good news there. monday night into tuesday, that's a different story, i'll focus on that in a little bit. here's the forecast for today, 49 degrees we'll see a gradual
increase in clouds. 1:00, 46 degrees. 3:00 p.m., 48. 5:00 p.m., 47 look at all the cold building to the north, it's heading south into the lower 48. it gets in here by the end of the upcoming workweek. along with the cold air we have several chances of snow. we'll talk about that when i see you again in just a few minutes. well, the big parties already started. america's biggest game of the year is tonight auto in california. everyone is excited. broncos play the panthers super bowl 50. fans of the teams used this as a reason to party all day long, brandy hicks is out west for the big game. >> reporter: super bowl 50 is final lie -- finally here. excitement building between the broncos and panthers.

for the purpose of the first time and people are rewarded for work rather than nonwork. ted cruz attacked president obama. this is a president who in the wake of paris and the wake of san bernadino will not even use the words radical islamic terrorism, much less focus on defeating the enemy. the candidates face the breaking foreign policy matter, north korea launching a satellite into space they believe was a coverup for a missile. john kasich talked foreign policy, while ben carson talked about health care. you have to replace it with something that makes sense it doesn't make sense. on the democratic side hillary clinton said her
handling of the tragedy in benghazi happened during the fog of war. she was of course secretary of state at the time. bernie sanders vowed to keep telling americans the truth. he later appeared on saturday night live. our monica malpass begins live reports from new hampshire tonight on "action news" at 11:00 p.m. you can see her reports on 6abc.com, and we'll have a live report from abc news in the next half-hour. plus, "good morning america" will have the coverage of the lead up to the new hampshire primary, "g.m.a." weekend begins at 8:00 after "action news." new this morning, a philadelphia police officer was dragged by a car during a confrontation with a drive in the overbrook section of the city. the officer topped the vehicle at 2:30 along the 6100 block of lang -- lancaster avenue. when the male driver tried to get by a, the officer was caught under the car. he escaped with minor injuries.
the man and woman in the car got out and made a run for it. police say they arrested the man in the school yard near kelly drive and ridge avenue. the woman is still on the run. there's word on why the officer pulled the car over. from our new jersey newsroom investigators are looking for the cause of a fire that gutted a former millville bar. the action cam was on the 500 block of south second street. the blaze broke out and went to three-alarms. firefighters rescued a person in the building. a nearby resident told "action news" the fire's intensity was scary. i backed up, because of the the heat coming off. it took three hours for crews to bring the fire under control. governor wolf and the republican controlled pennsylvania legislature have not completed work on a budget this year, but that is not stopping the democratic governor
from going before the lawmakers on tuesday to make a pitch for next year's budget. wolf is the first governor to reach this point proposing a budget while the current one is in limbo. he is asking for additional spending in education. there is no indication that the two sides are close to an agreement on the current budgeted. 7:09. the philadelphia auto show comes to a close at the pennsylvania convention center. 700 of the newest classic cars and trucks are on display. you can go for a drive on a test track. sixers cheerleaders will be making an appearance today. there's much more to come on "action news" sunday morning. we have crews trying to save survivors trapped in

a little bit of snow potentially tuesday. some of the coldest air we've seen this season arrives friday into saturday. there are a couple of models that don't get us out of the teens on valentine's day. double scan drive is crystal clear, we're showing a chilly 28 degrees at this 7:00 a.m. hour. dewpoint, 22. winds out of north/northwest at 5 miles per hour. that gives us a feels like temperature of 23. 19 in allentown. millville, 21. trenton, 23. wildwood and dover, 27. we're watching a couple of features out there this morning, there's an alberta clipper arctic front diving in across the high plains. there's a surface storm here off the coast of the carolinas. this time around the surface storm will pull out to sea. it may brush the jersey shore with a rain or snow shower overnight tonight. the bulk of the storm passes us by to the east. monday night into tuesday, the
colder air arrives it will transfer its energy to a coastal storm somewhere off the virginia capes. where it sets up determines who sees the snow and how much snow we pick up over the neck 48 -- next 48 to 72 hours. future tracker 6, we start out with sunshine. clouds increase throughout the afternoon, they lower and thicken and become mainly cloudy overnight tonight. the coastal system passes on by to the east at 7:00 a.m. jersey shore picking up a spritz or sprinkle, it's liquid not seeing any snowflakes at that point. during the afternoon the model hints toward a mixed rain or snow shower, we'll allow for that, it's not a big deal. it's monday into tuesday when the secondary storm develops off the coast. this model shows nothing on tuesday, but there are other models that that have this area filled in with snow as the moisture starts to roll in off the atlantic. tuesday is looking like the day of concern with the potential of
some impacts in the delaware valley. saturday, sunday, monday all days are clear. it's monday night after midnight into tuesday afternoon. this is generally looking like a light snow event, one to three inches. we're leaning toward that at this point. there's a couple of models out there that shows a model snowfall of 3 to 6. anything heavier than that. we're not worried about that. it's a light event with the possibility of it becoming more in the way of 3 or 4. most of the models have it between 1 and 3 inches. ment temperatures will be above freezing on tuesday afternoon. that's a good sign. if we pick up the snow, most of the roads stay wet and not white. 49 degrees, that's the forecasted highlight breeze out of the northeast 35 to 10. overnight tonight, 26 degrees outlying suburbs, 32 for center city. the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast, 45 degrees mostly cloudy, very mild for tomorrow. normal is 42.
and then for tuesday, we'll post cloudy with some snow developing 39 degrees. again, accumulations should stay on the light side. wednesday, lots of clouds and flurries, 39. the next arctic front rolls in thursday, we're posting a high of 34. friday's high of 32. saturday, 28. all the numbers, there are several forecast models that show a lot colder air rushing in. we're taking it day by day, with he don't want to go 15 for the high and correct it. we're taking it one step at a time. time 7:16. drivers who parked on the ice on lake geneva, wisconsin have learned a valuable lesson in science. they parked there during winter fest, the temperatures began to rise and the ice started to thaw. the ice could no longer support the weight of the vehicles and they start to do sink.

wilmington, 24. when you factor in the light breeze it feels like 15 in reading. 15 in millville. 23 in philadelphia. 23 in trenton and it feels like 27 in dover. so it's another morning where you really need to bundle up if you're heading out early. satellite and radar, the clouds slowly increase throughout the day as the coastal storm starts to get its act together and pulls to the north. it will ride up the eastern seaboard, but fortunately watch this, it stays offshore. it's a darn good thing, too, because with the amount of moisture that this system is printing out this would have been another foot of snow easy. that's how much moisture this storm system has associated with it. the modeling suggests this will stay out to sea. new england could get another 3 to 6 inches of snow, places like cape cod and eastern portions of long. for us we're looking at increasing clouds and once again chilly temperatures. here's the forecast for today.

6:00 a.m. when firefighters got to the scene, they found the residents safely outside. cruz put out the flames in 15 minutes, no word on what caused the fire. new this morning, a teenager is in the hospital after police say she was attacked by the family dog. it happened on the appear hundred block of pemberton street in west philadelphia. the 14-year-old girl was home with her siblings when someone locked on the door, the family pitbull escaped from the basement and attacked the girl. other children called 911. when officers arrived they were forced to shoot and kill the dog. the girl is recovering from children's hospital listed in stable condition. health officials in montgomery county want to talk to a good samaritan who saved a youngster from a rabid racoon. jeff chirico has the story. >> reporter: the girl was walking home from school on
thursday afternoon when a racoon attacked the girl. a good samaritan happened to be driving by at the same time. stopped his car, had a hockey stick in his trunk which he got out and used to hit the animal, the racoon until it detached from the girl which was wonderful of him to do that. he drove her home. animal control trapped the racoon in the woods and tested to be rabid. health officials want to talk to the man to make sure he was not exposed to the virus, as well. incubation to rabies could be from days to week. it's very important that proper medical officials have a chance to talk with the gentleman. >> reporter: there is a small chance he could have been exposed to the rabies virus even if he was not bitten.

trenton, 23. dover, 27 and wilmington 24. some areas have a little bit of a breeze, we're subtracting a few degrees from the actual temperatures when you factor in the winds. 5 in reading. 5 in philadelphia. feels like 23. temperature 28. millville, 5. dover, 2 miles per hour. let's go wider here's satellite and radar we're watching a couple of features, an arctic front to the north pushing through the high plain states and low pressure spinning along the u.s./canadian border. this is a coastal storm that will pass us by to the east. we'll not so lucky with the arctic boundary. as that hits the coast, another storm develops right here. it will be a weaker, much more disorganized storm than we are seeing right now. it's that storm that brings the chance of snow monday night into
tuesday morning. that guy will exit stage right. if this came occupy the coast, we would -- came up the coast, we would get hammered again. future tracker 6, high, thin clouds overspread the area south to north. cloudy overnight tonight, we're dry as the storm stays out to sea. the model shows showers from cape may to sandy hook. these will be rain showers as temperatures are mild along the shore. the system then pulls away. we get into monday afternoon there could be a spritz or sprinkle around as high temperatures top out in the mid 40s. monday into tuesday, the colder air works into the pattern. we change the liquid precipitation over to winter white. even though the model is clear for tuesday, we see the snow overspread the area as the secondary low takes over. there's not too much change as

it's getting warmer, i can't see that far. it's going to be nice, right? >> reporter: it's going to be a nice finish to the weekend, temperatures close in on 350 degrees, and then we get into monday night and tuesday, we could see a system that produces light snow for parts of the area. looks like a light snow event. generally 1 to 3 inches. there's an outside shot we could see more than 3. temperatures will be above freezing tuesday afternoon that means most of the roads will be welt. if there's anything untreated and the snow comes down hard enough, the secondary roads could be covered. looks like a minor event, one to three inches and most of the main arteries will be wet. 45 degrees today and tomorrow. we get colder by the end of the seven-day forecast. it's 75:00 we're just a few minutes away from saying good morning to "good morning america."
