tracking the end of a snowstorm. let's go over to david murphy and karen rogers. >> reporter: all right, guys we have snow showers moving through the region, they are moving toward the east quickly. you might pick up a coating on untreated road surfaces. the brighter stuff is pushing into chester county and pushing into beks county by 8 -- berks county by 8 and 9:00 a.m. we are expecting the return of sun and improving temperatures. use caution for the morning commute. temperatures are close to or below freezing. we have lingering flakes along with the other stuff that came through overnight while you were sleeping. we have slick sidewalks and road surfaces, karen rogers has been talking about the sides of roads an off ramps and things like that. 32 degrees in philadelphia. 29 in wilmington. below freezing in allentown and
reading and millville and dover. in all these areas, icy patches are possible. cloudy skies on the bus stop this morning, snow shower in some neighborhoods, temperatures close to the freezing mark in philadelphia between 6 and 8:00 a.m. as we roll through the day we'll improve getting the high of 40. more of the same around 3:00 p.m. we dip to the freezing mark by 9:00 p.m. tonight. probably not a whole lot of refreezing, but it's something to keep in the back of your mind. all right, karen, roads this morning, that's the big story. looking live in lansdale. it's a light snow shower coming down. we can see slush on the roads. even though most of the highways are wet, a little slush on the secondary roads take it easy out there, you kind of see the flurries under the street lights there. let's take a live look at 422 eastbound traffic heading toward king of prussia you can see the snow on the sides of the roads, the main lanes themselves.
chester county we'll see when it looks like right there. we got more snow in the western suburbs. route 100 northbound traffic heading toward lionville. slush on the roads, that we're seeing, especially the sides of the roads and the center lanes, it's clearer on the schuylkill expressway, here at girard, the highway just a little bit damp. you have to watch for the ramps and overpasses, they get icier first. 42 northbound at creek road. i drove on 42 a couple of hours ago, it's looking good, matt and tam. the school closings list jumped in numbers, we have a list at 6abc.com and at the bottom of the screen. we turn to katherine scott. live in west chester, chester county with a live look on conditions there. tell us what you're seeing, katherine. >> reporter: tam and matt we're getting a light snow in west chester, it's nothing major, but it's sticking to the roads.
we're along east market street you can see the surface of the road is wet, but it's clear and we have not heard any problems from drivers who have been coming through here this morning. they say it looks good and they are relieved about that. let's go to video from last night where you can see the snow falling on 422 in limerick. there was enough snow you could see it accumulate on the roads. it did slow traffic a bit. plows and salt trucks were making the rounds last night you can see them loading up before heading out in the video. drivers took their time. they said the conditions were not too bad. we spoke to a plow operator who was out all night with his crew. the main roads are not too bad. some of the side streets are slick if you don't have four wheel drive be careful driving out there. penndot has been good staying on top of the stuff, same with the townships. >> reporter: as we are live along east market street we've seen the plows coming through, some of them are plowing the

hampshire was kind to the clintons. it was the state that made clinton the comeback kid in 2002. warrant are being prepared in connection with the assault investigation involving lesean mccoy at an old city nightclub. this shows mccoy and three friends scuffling with three off-duty police officers. no arrests have been made in connection with the incident. police recommend criminal charges. the district attorney's office is reviewing the case. mccoy has retained philadelphia attorney jack mcmahon. jim kenny is giving up the tickets to see the boss for good cause, he donating his 18 seat suite to found raising to support publication -- public
education in the city. bruce springsteen will showcase his latest album. it's for a good cause. >> reporter: absolutely. storm tracker 6 live double scan right now we have precipitation out in philadelphia and out to the west, the stuff to the west is probably more pronounced, you take a closer look you can see there's a bright band of snow pushing into the western portion of chester county and pushing away from reading in berks county and some of this may start to trickle into new castle county around newark and wilmington before too much longer. there's a little bit of purple there. this is scooting through pretty quickly and not having all that much additional impact on treated surface, certainly. untreated surfaces from this snow, but the other stuff that we had come through earlier
could be icy. so be careful if you're walking around on foot. even in allentown where the snow is not that strong we had some earlier. if you're driving around on the side streets that might not have gotten the full treatment. areas around kent county and sussex county, delaware is done. we have cloud skies across the region that includes center city philadelphia. it's chilly with much region on or about freezing. in philadelphia, 32 degrees, if we have icy patches develop on the sidewalks and side streets they are still there with the temperature. winds out of the west at 12 bundle up. 32 in philadelphia. below freezing. wilmington, millville, dover, trenton, all the northern suburbs, icy patches possible just about everywhere across the region this morning. terms snow we got a half inch.
montgomeryville, 4, 3 in chadds ford. doylestown, 3. western suburbs and places in western chester county and berks county places like that, some parts of northern montgomery county got the heavier snowfall 35 inches, most of you one to three inches through the region. some of that melted during the day yesterday, what you got on the ground this morning might be less. hockessin, 2.3. newark, 1.7. half inch in mount holly. not a lot of snow out there. additional snow showers as i mentioned is probably off the map by 8:00 a.m., 9:00 a.m. this morning. the rest of the day we'll have sunshine. here's the call in terms of temperature. 31 degrees by 8:00. noon, 37. the high today will be 40 degrees this afternoon at 3:00. we won't be back below freezing until 9:00. 10:00 p.m. tonight.

are seeing near lancaster. as we go closer, some of it is showing a brighter shade of lavender, honeybrook 322 right now also on the 30 bypass near coatsville and downingtown coming down pretty good. this is heading towards pottstown brighter shade along route 100. malvern, light, chadds ford light, flurries in norristown and philadelphia, you see the brighter shade that's moving to the east. you got to watch for that, i want to show you what the temperatures are looking like. 30 in allentown. 27 in lancaster, sitting on the freezing mark in philadelphia. a little bit below that in the suburbs. with the snow coming down, visibility has become an issue in the western suburbs where the snow is heavier matt and tam. missouri state trooper was caught on camera saving a woman from the burn car. in the dash cam video you can
see the smoke in the distance. with the help of another man they pull the woman to safety. police say the crash was caughted by a man who ran a red light. he took off, but officer were able to track him down. new this morning, delaware state police released a surveillance picture of a man they say robbed a td bank in new castle. he walked into the branch christiana road yesterday afternoon and handed a note to the teller. he ran off with an undisclosed amount of cash. nobody was hurt. an illinois man proves a crime never pays, especially if you're robbing a photo booth. he took money from the photo booth. what he didn't know the photo booth has a security feature as soon as someone tampers with it takes photos.
