good morning, it is 6:00 a.m., thursday, february 18. we're working on several developing and new stories. a man is shot execution style in west philadelphia. police are looking for the person who pulled the trigger. we have information on a hit rent run crash that involved a 3-year-old child. customers at a fast food restaurant are outrage over getting a sermon with their feels. let's find out about accuweather, david murphy has that and karen rogers has traffic, good morning. >> reporter: good morning, it's cold, we have clouds hanging over parts of the regionful we expect sunshine to dig in quickly this morning and expecting mostly sunny skies. 32 degrees in philadelphia. in the 20s in allentown, lancaster and wilmington. 31 in trenton and down toward millville and dover. the windchills even though the winds are not that strong this morning, still enough to make it feel like 25 degrees in

philadelphia and worse in other neighborhoods. as we roll through the day, most ily -- mostly sunny. 38 degrees is the high it will strike around 3:00 p.m. it will feel like the upper 20s at the best of times with a 20-mile an hour wind blowing. we have changes for the weekend, details just ahead. >> reporter: things are looking up in gloucester county after a big accident, a person was transported via medical helicopter. they have reopened the road, but slowing past the scene, 41 miles per hour, stick to buck root -- road or frys mills road. we have an accident investigation blocking delsea drive at garden road. cruise are out there doing the investigation.

execution -- the man was shot execution style. police are looking for the driver who hit a 3-year-old and didn't stop and just took off. katherine scott is live in tacony with the latest on that investigation. good morning. >> reporter: good morning, tam, the good news is the 3-year-old boy is expected to be just fine. police are searching for the driver. they have a better description of the vehicle they are looking for. i'll get to the description in just a minute, first let me show you where it happened. it happened at intersection of leave vick and ditman in tacony around 6:00 p.m. a 3-year-old boy was in the stroller being pushed by his father. they are crossing levic when the van taking a left clipped the wheel of the stroller the stroller toppled over. the van took off. the little boy was taken to saint christopher's hospital. here's the description of the

van. , 1998 dark green conversion van with a light green stripe on the side. if you have information let police know. katherine scott channel 6 "action news." a basement fire spread through a home in delaware, firefighters doused the flames on the 100 block of granite road in talleyville a couple of hours ago. nobody living in the house was hurt. and we have new information on a shooting involving two teenagers in the city of chester. they are looking for the gunman who they say is 16 years old. the incident happened at 12th and highland streets at 11:00 a.m. police say a student had a gun on the school bus and got off the bus and shot the other student in the backside. authorities believe both teens go to chester high school. police plan to charge the shooter when i find him as an

adult. a philadelphia police detective is under arrest. detective adam o'donnell was escorting the man out of the special victims unit and kicked the man in the knee and drove him to hunting park neighborhood and dropped him off on a random road. the victim was taken to the hospital with a broken femur. the department suspended o'donnell with the intent to dismiss. bill cosby has filed soothe soothe -- suit against andrea constan, her lawyer and her mother. confidentiality clauses are restricting the information from the settlement of the lawsuit. toyota is recalling

cloud cover continues to erode, even though there's some cloud cover, for the most part we'll be into a mostly sunny morning and staying that way through the afternoon. in the lehigh valley, high 34 degrees, windchills in the 20s, sunny and breezy. down the shore, sunny and breezy. high of 37. windchills in the upper 20s this afternoon. in philadelphia, 38 degrees i could see us with windchills in the 20s most of the day, upper 20s probably feeling like it's below freezing at the best of times. winds will be 10 to 20 miles per hour throughout the day, but lots of sunshine, you'll need your shades as you drive around. overnight tonight, clear skies and cold, 23 degrees, the winds die down a little bit. tomorrow we have high pressure in control, pushing off to the east, warm front approaches, it won't be here during the day, that means we'll get up to 41. not a whole lot of change in

too. we started out with more clouds and we expect to wind up mostly sunny. 32 degrees on the thermometer, so we're starting off cold, 20s in wilmington and reading and allentown. a light wind blowing at 10 miles per hour. feels like 25 in the city and in the teens in the northern and western suburbs. it stays chilly today. 11:00 we're getting over the freezing mark. the high this afternoon will be the 38-degree reading around 3:00 p.m. yeah, lots of sun, a little breezy, ten to 20-mile an hour winds that will keep the windchills at the best of times around freezing. karen when i step inside we're looking at a nice warmup for the weekend. details coming up. >> reporter: we have a multi-vehicle accident police tell me there are four vehicles involved, one a tractor-trailer, all happening on the ramp 422 eastbound from the schuylkill expressway to 202. you can see the back up here, jammed conditions 422 eastbound from the saint gabe's curve to

202. debris on the road, police say they are there are two people here it could be a serious accident. four vehicles involved one a tractor-trailer right on the ramp, 422 eastbound to the schuylkill expressway and 202. traffic is squeezing by that's why we're backing up on 422. northeast extension we had a disabled vehicle moved to the shoulder, northbound by mid county. in franklin township, there was an accident 55 northbound, you can see the debris on a the roadway, there was a vehicle fire briefly here, but the accident looks like it damaged the guardrail. a single-vehicle accident smashed into the guardrail. they had 55 closed for a while, because they had to bring a medevac helicopter to the scene approaching little mill road. the backlog is starting to ease

from police headquarters. >> reporter: the shooting happened late last night. police say the victim never had a chance, he was ambushed and shot multiple times in the face. the 31-year-old victim was killed execution style. gunfire erupted around 11:00 p.m. when officers arrived they found him on the ground seriously wounded. he was rushed to penn presbyterian hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later. police are relying on the help of the real time city cameras. they are getting help from local businesses, as well. it is believe he just parked his suv in south 52nd street when he was ambushed. the victim exited the driver door, when he walked on the curb, the shooter walked up within feet and fired at least 6

shots. it appears this individual was the intended target. >> reporter: and police say that the shooter ran north on 52nd and west on delancy street. they know that because of the real time cameras that are in the area they are approving to be big help. homicide detectives are reviewing the takes place from the cameras, as well. annie mccormick channel 6 "action news." the search continues for the hit-and-run driver who sent a 3-year-old philadelphia boy to the hospital. the driver struck the stroller in tacony last night. the child is being treated at saint christophers hospital for children and expected to make a full recovery. police are looking for a dark green dodge conversion van with a light green stripe on the side. the front hood of a cash ripped off as it slammed into a

building overnight. this is video in from the scene north 29th annie mccormick ridge avenue. it hit a tractor-trailer and jumped the curb. the driver is now being treated for head injuries at the hospital. and there's a push to reopen the investigation into the death of the ceo of cooper university hospital and his wife and group of 200 prominent people from new jersey are joining the effort. police ruled the death a murder suicide. the bodies their found in their homes a year and a half ago. their sons rejected the police report. they released a statement saying -- there are new details of a hockessin fire in delaware, a person passing by the home ran into the fire and rescued a

we have slow speeds on the schuylkill expressway and i-95 and our other big accident in vineland, cumberland county, delsea drive, vineland. chopper 6 was overhead. an accident investigation that vehicle hit the tree, it went off the roadway, we have debris on the roadway. it happened at 2:00. they are closing delsea drive down in vineland. watch for that garden road and west avenue. few flurries flying around, a couple of slick spots with temperatures below freezing. south dakota will become the first state mandating which restrooms transgendered students use. under the plan, schools would have to provide reasonable accommodation for transgendered students such as a single occupancy bathroom. opponents say the legislation
