news vandals cause a good bit of damage in delaware. who police are looking for after 17 victims had their car tires slashed. and a former teacher pleads guilty to disturbing charges regarding a local high school student. and now the big story, an inferno at a popular restaurant. annie mccormick is live at the scene on cheltenham avenue with the latest. >> reporter: no word on a cause yet on this fire. look behind me and see what is left behind, investigators from the atf and fire marshals office are out here early in this investigation. overnight the house of gin went up in flames and firefighters attacked it from all angles, the call came out at 1:00 a.m. and it took more than an hour to get
the fire under control. by dawn chopper 6 hd got a look from the air what was left. the restaurant appears destroyed. the restaurant owner seen here did not want to speak on camera. he told "action news" that luckily nobody was inside. his restaurant that served chinese and japanese cuisine has been a fixture here for years. >> it's a great loss. everybody comes here. they make good food. everyone comes here i come here for lunch, i work across the street. everyone is going to be really upset. >> residents and employees from local businesses from cheltenham avenue got a look at the damage and many were surprised it didn't spread. >> it can be rebuilt probably. >> you can see the bulldozer there, that will help investigators with this
investigation and it's expected to go into the restaurant, what is left of it. they are also asking anyone that may have information around here that may have video to call them. reporting live in german town, annie mccormick, channel 6 "action news." police have identify the gunman in america's latest mass shooting. it happened last night in kansas. cedric form allegedly went into his workplace and killed three people before being shot and killed by an officer. here is the latest. >> reporter: good afternoon investigators say they are familiar with ford, he has been in their jail at least a couple of times and deputies had interacted with him less than two hours before the shootings. investigators are getting close to what led to the terrifying shooting rampage at a small kansas community. >> the gun was straps to him and
he was ready to go. >> just before 5:00 p.m. thursday, officials say he opened fire from his car on other drivers wounded two in separate locations and then drove to his workplace. >> the shooter takes that victim's car and travels here to where xcel is. ford arrives at xcel industries armed with an assault rifle and handgun. he shot one person in the parking lot of the industrial plant before going inside. >> everyone was just trying to get out. >> three people killed and 14 others injured before a deputy took ford down. >> the only reason he stopped shooting is because that officer stopped the shooter. >> hundreds of employees escaped the building their family and friends anxiously waiting outside. >> oh my god. >> i finally got to see him, i didn't want to let him go. now safely reunited with his wife jared says that ford was a
hard guy to get to know. >> really quiet. he didn't say much. >> ford posted this picture and video of himself on facebook firing an ak style rifle and had an extensive record. less than three hours before the rampage he was served a protection order at work and was upset and left the plant. turning to politics now the republican presidential candidates are in the final stretch to super tuesday and during the final showdown at the debate, both ted cruz and marco rubio took on frontrunner donald trump. tuesday next week 11 states will vote and 590 delegates are at stake. donald trump is going in with three straight victories. >> this is a man who for 40

a sexual encounter with rodney for months. he plead guilty to six counts and was immediately taken into custody and is due back for sentencing in april. police in new jersey are looking for a man that sold heroin to a person that overdosed and died. police are charging eric amona, under new jersey law anyone that sells drugs that later kills a user could be liable for their deaths. if you know where he is you are asked to call police. several cars and a tractor trailer collided in the eastbound lanes past conshohocken. one person was injured. the cause of the crash still

a pilot was forced to make an emergency landing at guam international airport. it came down without its nose gear. the cargo jet hit the ground as it landed. only three people were on board and nobody was hurt and airport operations were not effected. a sheriff's deputy in south carolina is still in the hospital after being shot twice. the deputy stopped a suspicious vehicle in goose creek early this morning. when she tried to take the driver into custody she was shot twice, the suspect ran to a nearby home and was found dead

reading and lancaster. you look at the winds and this is an issue through the rest of the afternoon. 26 in dover and 30 for both reading and lancaster and 30 miles per hour wind gust in atlantic city that is why you have to factor in the winds and windchills hold in the 20s for most of the day. and here is satellite 6 along with action radar a cold front is still to the north and we are dealing with the northwesterly winds that is why it's quite blustery and we are finding snow showers north and west of the great lakes and down wind of the lakes as well. today mostly sunny and maxing out at 42, and winds close to 35 to 40 miles per hour. and windchills will be in the z most of the day. overnight tonight it's clear and less wind and we drop down to 25 in philadelphia with the north-northwesterly wind that hangs on tough. here is the setup. a windy one and plenty of sunshine by the afternoon and
