6:00 a.m., thursday, march 10 we're following breaking news. someone ran into two philadelphia police officers injuring them as the person fled the scene. the action cam shows the aftermath of a dramatic house collapse in germantown. it happened while two people were inside. accuweather is be tracking record warm temperatures for today. there will a lot more of all that. matt pellman is filling in for karen this morning. look who snuck outside. >> reporter: look who is out here without a coat in like forever since i was off the last couple of days days.

as i look toward the east we'll get sunshine mixing with the clouds and the rain north and west you won't have to worry about that until late tonight and overnight. 60 degrees in philadelphia. wind or the light side on the terrace. some of you are starting to experience winds in the teens. 5 in allentown. 58 in reading. 56 in wilmington, a light jacket probably works this morning and here are the latest winds, officially 14 at the airport. you can see that's the anomaly, most places are in the single digits. it will be breezy later in the day. 60 degrees by 9:00 we're off to the races again. 11:00, 69. 1:00 p.m., 75. 3:00 p.m., that's the high, 80 that will be another record in philadelphia just like the record we set yesterday. we have the showers coming overnight tonight and they could extend into the early part of tomorrow morning's rush. highly check that out on future tracker 6 when i step inside. >> reporter: yesterday afternoon we saw so many people wanting to be out and about on the roads,

it was a busy afternoon, i expect it to be the same way today. things are getting busy on i-95, people are tapping their brakes in the work zone at cottman and girard. vine street expressway looking good, overnight construction closures have been lifted. everything is moving just fine. the closures will take effect again tonight at 11:00 p.m. in both directions between broad and the schuylkill expressway. getting word of a broken down box truck on the platt bridge, eastbound away from the airport toward 26th street. it's blocking one of the two lanes. so coming away from the airport, 95, expect slowing in fact, i think i would stay on i-95 northbound and the george washington bridge as an alternate. better -- girard point bridge. better news in juniata park, they have open g and erie.

>> reporter: boulevard we have a broken down vehicle on the side as you get on the westbound side of 76. downed tree in limerick township cherry lane at center road. a driver smashed boo an unmarked philadelphia patrol car putting two officers in the hospital. that driver did not wait around after the accident and took off. scots scott is live at the scene in the city's juniata park section. katherine. >> reporter: matt, the two officers were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. police are searching for a dark-colored vehicle. it will have heavy front end damage. since we spoke, as matt mentioned they did reopen east erie by g in juniata park. traffic is getting through. just a few minutes ago, the unmarked police vehicle was towed away. you can see the damage to the rear of the car. there were two officers if the

unmarked car, plain clothes officers from the 4th district, members of the tactical team. they were traveling west on erie when a car hit them from behind and took off. the vehicle struck the side of a parked car and came to a rest on the sidewalk against the coca-cola building. both officers were treated for neck and back injuries and one of the officers has abrasions to his leg. police will review surveillance footage to see if they can get a better description of the suspect's vehicle. i did speak to some employees who were inside coca-cola at the time. they said they heard someone hit the wall, so they came out to take a look and one of them soon realized his car was the parked one that was damaged when it was struck by the police vehicle. he took a look and saw problems on the wheels. he said there was damage to the side of the vehicle, but he is not sure of the extent of the it yet. two officers taken to the hospital to be checked out we are told their injuries are

minor. katherine scott channel 6 "action news." a home in the city's germantown section came crashing down overnight. it happened before 1:00 a.m. on the 5100 block of merion street. there were two people inside, they managed to escape it without injuries, but they said it was a wild scene. i caught the ceiling. he caught the ceiling, i was holding it up, he said, come on, let's get out, thank god we out of there. the red cross is helping two adults and five children from a neighboring home that seems like it might be in peril. look at what was once someone's home rubble on the ground. investigators are trying to figure out what exactly caused the home to turn into that heap of stone. police plan more patrols in center city this afternoon. it will be in response to a melee at 15th and market yesterday. a group of teens were fighting

each other. as police started to break it up, teens started throwing items at officers. police arrested 6 teens and an adult. happening today, atlantic city officials plan to bring bus loads of city residents to the state capitol in trenton to testify against a planned state stakeover. the mayor said the bill will strip residents of their civil and constitutional rights. governorgovernor christie sporte legislation to sell lands and degree of care bankruptcy. moody's released an analysis warning that atlantic city will run out of the money in the neck few weeks if the measures are not approved by law makers. an automaker trying to beat the system is now paying the price. he is paying the price, but i have to wonder what that severance agreement how much

58 in reading, 56 in wilmington, 57 in trenton. down the shore cooler in cape may at 53. satellite shows you the additional clouds that are sweeping in ahead of a frontal boundary we are looking at holes in the clouds, and again it's clouds and sun. we see the showers west and south of us, it doesn't look like they will be an issue until later tonight. we'll show you that on future tracker 6 in a moment. lehigh valley clouds and sun, warm, 77 degrees, we are looking at record highs across the region including up north in the northern areas like the lehigh valley, maybe not so much at the shore, but definitely in an away from the shore. at the beach 72 degrees today. cooler next to the cool ocean water. a mix of clouds and sun, pleasant enough for mid march, certainly. 80 is the high again in philadelphia. we hit the yesterday and we're expecting it today. clouds and sun, that means record warmth as existing records across the philadelphia and the rest of the region are

in the mid 70s. winds 10 to 20 miles per hour, later in the afternoon. here's the record highs we expect to have a chance of falling. philadelphia, good shot at that one. 77 in allentown. that's the forecast high. 78, two degrees past the record high in trenton. wilmington and the airport atlantic city have a chance to beating the 'o6 records. showers build in the overnight hours and breezy. future tracker 6 at 7:00 p.m. we're dry. probably takes until 11:00 p.m. until we see the showers in the northern and western suburbs. overnight for the morning commute there will be light showers around. we dry out quickly and by 10:00, or 10:30 we'll be returning sunshine into the picture tomorrow. it will be cooler behind the shower activity. 80 is the high, record warmth,

6:14, 59 degrees, a lot of people got out there and enjoyed the warm temperatures yesterday. you're in for that today, we'll get up to 80 again. matt pellman looking at the roads, what have you got. >> reporter: it is national park i don't care lunch day, did you pack your lunch today? i did. i do everyday. >> reporter: as you head out, a couple of things to without for you, a broken down truck on the platt bridge up and over heading toward 26th street eastbound taking out the left lane. if i were you avoid the eastbound platt bridge and head for i-95 northbound the girard point bridge as an alternate. where you don't want to head later today is the schuylkill expressway, starting at 9:00 a.m. they will be doing bridge inspections this time in the right lane between university and south. yesterday they were walking eastbound, today -- they were working eastbound, today it's westbound.

use the northbound on the vine westbound instead. right now the schuylkill expressway looks fine. a new closure after the rush hour 9:00 a.m. in fishtown if you're traveling delaware avenue northbound you'll not be able to get on aramingo avenue northbound for the next six months. all part of that on going construction around that with i-95. they will send you over to richmond lehigh, from there you can get to aramingo. the lanes are just starting to form on southbound i-95. still wrapping up overnight construction on the pennsylvania turnpike eastbound by the neshaminy toll plaza, left lane blocked there. we got rid of the down pole in montgomery 202 everything is clear there. on the down tree at cherry lane lab cleared out of the way. u.s. officials have announced special forces have captured the head of the isis unit that was trying to develop chemical weapons. a commando force made the

gray and breaks in the clouds and we'll have sun. we have rain out near pittsburgh that's not an issue until later tonight. 55 in allentown, 56 in wilmington. as you look at the latest winds not that strong, single digits across the region. 14 in philadelphia. that's a snap shot at the top of the hour. right now the winds appear to be lighter. 60 degrees by 9:00 a.m. 11:00 a.m., 69. the story of the day is the afternoon temperature profile, similar to yesterday, by 3:00 p.m. we'll get 80 which is easily a record for this date. in fact yesterday i believe we hit 80 degrees for the earliest that we've ever seen in philadelphia in any year since we've been talking measurements. that goes back quite a long time in philadelphia. we have cooler air tomorrow and transitional showers on the way tonight. i'll have that coming up in the seven day. matt, what are roads looking like early? >> reporter: pretty much normal.

normal means slow on i-95 from cast academy to cottman. we're backing up and slow from allegheny into girard. normal morning volume kicking in. on the vine street expressway westbound, we would be slow normally as you head toward the schuylkill expressway. but there's a fender bender on the shoulder that's attracting attention. overnight there was a crash that brought down a pole and wires near montgomeryville by the pine crest country club that's cleared out of the way. severing reopened by doylestown road business 202. no issues on the northeast extension of the pennsylvania turnpike. we have an issue on the schuylkill expressway yesterday. there was a big accident, this morning it's been quiet. we're starting to see the normal building volume as you come eastbound, speeds in the 30s and 40s coming from conshohocken heading toward belmont. we have a broken down truck on the platt bridge eastbound that's cleared out of the way, everything is reopened there. the ben franklin bridge our good

people in the area to lose electricity. the power has been restored. developing this morning, five people are dead in what police are calling an ambush styled shooting in a backyard party in suburban pittsburgh. two gunmen remain at large. four people were gunned down, three others were injured and are in critical condition. people scrambled toward the house as the bullets began flying. there's no word on who the suspects are or what i they did it. the red cross is helping two families out on the street after their philadelphia row home fell down around them. the walls came tumbling down on him or her i don't street in germantown section at 1:00 a.m. the two adults inside made it out unharmed. i was hanging up my clothes and we heard, boom, boom. it all came down. i was laying down and it sounded like thunder, i want
