nearly hit one of the responding officers. annie mccormick is live near the end of the pursuit where police are looking for the people involved, annie. >> reporter: and matt, luckily the officer is okay. the pursuit did end in the south philadelphia neighborhood, but at this hour, police say one possibly two suspects were riding in the vehicle are still on the loose. take a look at this video. this is video of the van, police say the van came on the radar of officers in southwest philadelphia who were on routine patrol that fit the description of a vehicle just in a burglar. when the officer approached the van, the veered toward them. the suspects drove off heading over the passyunk bridge. officers in south philadelphia stopped the van on carlisle. two suspects were seen fleeing from the van. the foot pursuit ended with nobody in him custody you

have any information contact police. annie mccormick channel 6 "action news." a 17-year-old is under arrest for shooting a driver in the holmesburg section. it happened on meridian street last night. a bullet shattered a rear drivers side window and went through the head of the man behind the wheel. he crashed into two parked cars. the witness saw the shooter run into the back of the house where police took the teen into custody. this is new this morning, fire damaged a row home in philadelphia overnight. the action cam was on mount airy avenue in west mount airy neighborhood. fire crews focused their sweep

threatening injuries. president obama has introduced merrick garland to the supreme court. after a noted career as a prosecutor including winning verdicts against timothy mcveigh and the uni bomber. republican leaders in the senate say they will not hold confirmation hearings. instead they say the balance of the court should be decided when voters elect the next president. it is a president appear constitutional right to nominate a supreme court justice. and the senate's right to act as a check on the president and withheld its consent. president obama has called on republicans to give his nominee a hearing and a vote instead of tieing the nomination to election year politics. to go down that path would be wrong. it would be a betrayal of our
