on facebook and twitter. if you're just waking up with us, 7:02. firefighters had to rescue a person from a home in delaware county. crews used chain sauce to gain act -- chain saws to gain access through the roof. home. one person was rescued from a third floor room and taken to crozer-chester medical center for treatment. the fire spread to two vacant homes before firefighters got the upper hand. no word on what caused the fire. police took a man into custody for allegedly starting a fire in west kensington overnight. firefighters were called to the home on custer street. police say the man started a fire by lighting up curtains. a mother of the homeless man charged with attacking a pennsylvania supreme court justice says her son battled
schizophrenia for years. police say james paul puddle judge kevin dougherty in the face. the suspect's mother said her 26-year-old son was diagnosed with schizophrenia when he was 19. she said he reliesed taking the -- resisted taking the drugs he needs because they make him feel like a zombie. a place where they can keep him and not give him the option of leaving. >> reporter: he had two perceives convictions for dui and simple assault. he faces simple assault and reckless endangerment charges. animal control officers were notified after police received a tip about what was happening on the 7900 block of marsdan street. 15 small dogs and cats were

man waving a gun in this surveillance video threatened a store clerk's life over nachos. the 4-year-old manner grabbed a bag of nachos and walked out of the store. when the clerk went after him and demand he paid, he pulled out a gun. he got a shot as he sprinted through the store and out the back door. officers caught the suspect after a brief chase. a picture of tender moment of care carried out by a tennessee hale patrol officers has gone viral. the trooper is seen holding a three-year-old girl who was in a car that crashed after a police chase. when she arrived she found the girl traumatized after the accident. police questioned the child's mother. there are no injuries

23 degrees the first day of spring in the lehigh valley. 14 in the poconos, 28 in reading, 29 in philadelphia. satellite and radar, we have a pocket of air in place across the mid atlantic and the northeast. what will happen an area of low pressure will develop here off the coast of the carolinas, it will pull to the north an hit the cold air and you'll get light snow overnight tonight. temperatures are mild for snow, but cold for the first day of spring. 45 degrees by 1:00 p.m. cloudy conditions, light shower activity for the jersey shore. later on wet snowflakes mixing in. this is 7:00 p.m., most of the day is actually dry. we get into the overnight hours, temperatures drop off a little bit, but we're still well above freezing, even as it's snowing we'll have a difficult time sticking. it may stick to the grassy surfaces, all the roads will be wet. right through 1:00 p.m. as we get through the mid morning hours and 7:00, 8:00 a.m.,
temperatures are still stuck in the low to mid 30s, which is above freezing, all of a sudden the sun comes out and we're back up to 49, 50 degrees, whatever accumulation you see across south jersey and delaware it will melt during the day. period of light snow is expected overnight tonight. the steadiest of the light snow is expected to fall east of the delaware river. it is going to be delaware and south jersey expected to see the most of this. accumulations on grassy surfaces. with that said if the snow comes down hard enough, some of the back roads could slicken up a bit. most of the accumulation is expected to be on grassy surfaces. coating to an inch in the gray shade which includes the i-95 corridor, wilmington, philadelphia and trenton. looks like the lehigh valley for the most part will miss out on this, same thing with the poconos. the 1 to 3 is confined to areas closest to the shore, cape may, atlantic, southeastern burlington, monmouth and ocean counties expect to see one to

nicu families. after a few months she thought of another way to help. angel eye cameras. technology that allows family and friends to see and interact with the babies when they are away from the hospital at any time. i did a lot of sitting at the hospital when he was here caring for the other kids. >> reporter: after two fundraisers and go fund me page, kelly raised $15,000 to help holy redeemer hospital purchase the cameras. they go live april 4. the goal is to have these in more hospitals in the area so perhaps the cameras can be used in other areas of the hospital, as well. i hope these cameras change a lot of lives. >> reporter: in hungd --

last chilly days and things start to moderate tomorrow and beyond. satellite and radar, for the most part everything looks fairly innocent nothing going on. look at the hint of yellow toward the bottom of the screen that's where we'll see low pressure develop and that will run up the eastern seaboard it will throw back light snow is in the delaware valley tonight and new england. with the breeze it will feel like the 30s all day long. the fact that the air temperatures top out in the 40s that means the ground will stay gneiss and mild and the snow will have difficulty sticking. 3:00 p.m., had a. 45. 44 degrees at 5:00 p.m. forecasting a high of 45. we are expecting light snow overnight tonight, but then we warm up nicely starting tomorrow. and then we're back up in the 60s and 70s believe it or

the action cam was at the scene 900 block of east cathedral road in the andora section of the city. took ten minutes for firefighter to free the trapped driver. he was taken to einstein with non-life threatening injuries. police are trying to determine what caused the driver to lose control. palm sunday services will go on in front of a church that was destroyed by a fire. creative minds and christianity academy is connected to the church. darby mayor invited the church to use the recreation center for palm sunday services. the day care is trying to figure out how to care for the children come tomorrow morning. we are trying to relocate the children to the area so if someone is listening to this, have a space or rec center or have a church with a basement, we need to keep our children
together. about 100 children attend the day care. the cause is under investigation. flames tore throt -- through the roof of an apartment building in claymont, delaware. firefighters were called to apple tree court. 22 units were damaged. nobody was hurt. the red cross is helping 24 people find another place to stay. from our delaware newsroom, police in newark are investigating how a man fell from a third story roof and died. it happened on the 100 block of west main street yesterday afternoon. that victim is a 20-year-old man from massachusetts. leaders at the university ever delaware say he is not a student. although fraternity members live at the home, it is not a frat house affiliated with the school. a new jersey lawmakers has introduced a bill that causes a growing traffic danger. abc news used time lapse video
