han, matt o'donnell is off today we're working on several developing stories. a deadly crash police are working to find out what caused a fatal pileup on i-95 overnight. we're live with the details. change is in the air in cuba as president obama perhaps to spend his first full day on the island. spring has sprung at least on the calendar, but snow could cause a messy commute this morning. let's go over we have our annie mccormick live in south jersey with the conditions. first up. let's look at weather and traffic with david murphy and karen rogers, good morning to all of you. >> reporter: we have snow hugging the coast on its way away from us, wet roads back in philadelphia. anywhere you see 32 on the car thermometer that might be the case in the northern suburbs you might want to slow it down. we might see wet roads out of this, very little snow accumulation, same story to the south, not big snow totals and
most of it on the grass. as we look at the wide view there goes the snow and the rain as it came through late yesterday and last night. now we have breaks in the clouds out to the west. we are expecting the return of sunshine quickly this morning. 35 degrees in philadelphia. down to 33 in trenton. 33 in allentown. 33 in wilmington, remember we were well above freezing in the 40s in most neighborhoods yesterday, even though we are close to the freezing mark in through here, hopefully the roads are warm enough to just stay wet. on the bus stop, 32 degrees by 6:00 a.m., 33 by 8:00 a.m. as we roll through the day we'll see breezes pick up and the sun come back and the roads will quickly dry off. 11:00 a.m., 42, 47 by 1:00 p.m. we have a high of 50 degrees we'll hit that late in the day say around 3:30 p.m. or
4:00 p.m. karen what are you seeing on the roads? >> reporter: we're looking good on the roads, we have snow on the grassy surface. it's damp. you have to be careful on the ramps and overpasses and bridges. you have to be careful we have snow off on the sides of the ranches. in the overnight hours we had a bunch of terrible accidents. we had a fatal accident 55 southbound at new garden road. police are out there continuing the investigation, they are allowing traffic to get by on the left shoulder, watch for emergency workers on the scene on 55. in new jersey, 42 not watching anyone slip or slide. looking good in the area. not seeing any sign of the snow, either. this is the boulevard southbound
traffic here heading toward the schuylkill expressway and moving nicely at this point nydia and tam. and developing right now, one person was killed and several others were hurt in a nasty crash on i-95 that shut down the highway for hours. vernon odem is live in south philadelphia near the broad street ramp and veteran, you --, you have the latest. >> reporter: good morning, tamala, good morning to you, i-95 was shut down for 4 1/2 hours overnight after a deadly here in south philadelphia near the broad street entrance which you see right behind me in south philadelphia. one man is dead, five others hospitalized. this was the scene just after 11:00 p.m. last night. northbound i-95 near the broad street entrance. there were four vehicles involved. it took all that time for the investigation and the cleanup. no word yet on whether this was weather-related. those are all the details we have so far.
the deceased is a male. we are now waiting for the state police to provide more information. again, i-95 northbound back open this morning after 4 1/2 hours shut down overnight. one person was killed, five others are in the hospital at serveron. at jefferson. live in south philadelphia, vernon odem channel 6 "action news." now let's take you over to mobile 6. it is on the move, it is making its way through wilmington. you can see the roads look damp of we had overnight flurries in some parts, in some places it came down decently. there's accumulation on the grassy surfaces. everywhere you go treat it as if you were going through rain and there were slick roads. annie mccormick is in hamilton township. there were a lot of flurries
coming down before now it's just a little bit. >> reporter: for the better part of an hour we've seen consistent snow falling. earlier was heavy wet snow. i want to show you what it's leaving behind on grassy surfaces. look here, it's almost an inch in atlantic county this is what is left behind grassy areas, trees and bill boards. if you're leaveing the house now, you have to watch the visibility it's tricky as you're driving. nothing too bad, as for the roads, the pavements, because the temperatures are not so cold, not freezing temperatures you'll not have the slick areas where it's freezing, nothing like that, you will have puddles because the precipitation is falling. it was an hour ago we were seeing the heavier wet snow.
because of that the south jersey transportation authority who maintains the atlantic city expressway has been out here with salt trucks to make sure that the people heading out for the morning commute will be okay. we were talking about what we would expect. we caught up with people yesterday, and people who said they are ready for spring. annoying, i want it to be over already. looking forward to spring, can we spring already? right, you want spring? >> reporter: can we spring already, seriously, again as we look at the atlantic city we don't have too many commuters so far. as the commuters head out, no major problems along here. they are making sure that the roads are taken care of, because

churn said black lives matter banner was vandalized with a sharp blade. police have not made any arrests in these cases. let's turn to david murphy, there's flurries coming in today, but by the end of the day seems like we'll be moving back to normal. >> reporter: storm tracker 6 live double scan, tam, we have wet snow that's moving out of the philadelphia. it's up and down the coast, if you're near the garden state parkway and the bottom of the ac expressway, you have the wet snowflakes flying, as annie mccormick mentioned, most of the roads are wet, temperatures are mild and we're hovering around the freezing mark and maybe a little bit above. nuisance snow for the most part, if you find side streets or secondary roads or ramps with snow on them, of course you want to slow down.
generally speaking this has been fairly low impact. i'll leave you with the wide view, i'll show you where it is snowing and where it ain't. up and down the i-95 corridor. we received an inch to an coating. looking outside looking at the ben franklin bridge, looking for the roads to dry out a little bit after we got the wet snow and rain overnight that did make them wet. temperature in philadelphia, 35 degrees. some suburbs near the freezing mark, keep it slow and cautious. the winds out of the north at 8 miles per hour. not all that strong for now. 33 degrees in allentown. down below freezing in reading and lancaster. 33 in trenton and millville. closer to the freezing mark in some spots like the airport in atlantic city. take it slow, but cautious driving will get you you want to go. snow totals the latest numbers in from the national weather
