afternoon looks drier. this afternoon once the rain gets out of here we're expecting a rush of strong winds. the national weather service has a wind advisory that kicks in at 2:00 p.m. and doesn't end until midnight. we could have gusts as high as 40 to 50 miles per hour. that could put trash cans and recycling bins on the roads. the rain will take until noon to get out of here, it will die down after the rush hour. 47 degrees in philadelphia. same thing in wilmington. mid 40s in trenton, allentown, trenton and lancaster. 51 in cape may. 41 in millville. look for temperatures hovering about 47 degrees between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. with the showers likely through the morning commute. 3:00 p.m., 64 degrees. obviously the rain tapering off after midday. you get a decent high today of 66 degrees around 4:00. the problem this afternoon as i mentioned, the strong blustery winds building in.

haddon heights carlisle road at amhurst road watch for restrictions there. a delaware county teenager is talking about a violent encounter with a thief that happened steps from her front door. police believe he maybe involved in other crimes in the past few weeks. annie mccormick has the story. >> reporter: matt, the victim said she was looking for her keys when someone grabbed her from behind. thanks to her family, that suspect is behind bars. ashley lamy walked "action news" into through the terrifying ordeal after this man sultan akbar-abdullah tried to you can't grab her and rob her at knifepoint. he didn't count on her dad and uncle to jump into help.
i didn't realize, i was like -- >> reporter: my dad open the door. >> reporter: lamy's uncle did not want to show his face on camera but showed us his injuries. he tackled sultan akbar-abdullah after chasing him to the nearby alley where he waited for police. the suspect confessed to police he committed three recent armed robberies. authorities are considering him a suspect in at least two others, lamy is grateful for her uncle's quick reaction. i never thought it will be a time he would have to risk his life for me. >> reporter: the uncle telling "action news" he was glad to get the guy off the streets. the suspect is being held on $100,000 bail. annie mccormick channel 6 "action news." thanks, annie. chester police are investigating
an act of fatal mischief that left four school buses damaged. the vandals broke windows ripped off doors and damaged tires. students in the chester upland school district return from spring break tomorrow. no word when the buses go back into service. a similar case in berks county, someone smashed windows at 14 cars in the city of reading. police are checking into whether anything was stolen from the vehicles, they are asking anyone who lives on the block and knows anything to give them a call. 70 people were killed and hundreds more injured in an parent suicide bombing at a pack pack -- pakistani park. the bomb went off at a children's ride. it was aimed at christians celebrating easter. we are so upset because of
our worship. >> reporter: authorities detained nine people. last week's airport and subway bombings in brussels, state department officials confirmed four americans were killed in the attacks. the airport where 11 people were killed will be closed until at least tomorrow. 5:36. today we learn more about the co-pilot who was detained moments before a philadelphia plane was scheduled to take off. federal authorities say the american airlines co-pilot was taken into custody on suspicion of being drunk. tsa alerted police. the pilot failed a breathalyzer test. federal prosecutors are reviewing the case and release more details later today. the pilot has not been identified but saying he is from pennsylvania. get out of the it near the elliot hotel and it burst into flames. they are investigating while it calling fire. the bomb squad was sent to disneyland to investigate a pipe bomb explosion. police investigated the area in anaheim to make sure the area was safe. the explosion damaged the walls of the building, no injuries were reported. chicago mayor rahm emanuel will expected to announce his pick for the top spot decision, emanuel was rejected three finalist recommend by the chicago police board for that top police post. the mayor has chosen someone whose not on the list. he stated earlier this year that retired police chief charles ramsey from philadelphia was his first choice. ramsey declined, but he is
