do think it's high and thin enough where the sunshine will be able to burn through it pretty quickly once it gets up over the horizon. we're starting out on the cool side with just about everybody in the 40's. philadelphia slipped to 49. probably going down a few more degrees before we start to turn it around so chilly and a little bit windy this morning with winds running in the teens in most neighborhoods and up to 20 in a couple of spots like philadelphia. could even have some high are gusts and today is going to be rather windy once again much like yesterday afternoon and evening. mainly clear and breezy on the bus stop this morning. temperatures probably dipping down into the mid 40's in most neighborhoods between 6:00 and 8 o'clock and as we roll through the afternoon lots of sunshine but windy. again not quite as bad as yesterday but gusts up to about 30 at times. and a high today of just 57 degrees so it will be cooler. that 57 chiming in probably around 3:30 or 4 o'clock. also want to remind you that after a break yesterday the pollen count is back up there in the medium high to high range for the next several days. we're getting warmer air back in play a little bit later in the week.
karen rogers i'll talk more about that in the accuweather 7-day i can see your traffic camera bouncing a little bit. >> yeah, winds shaking the cameras a little bit so watch for that as you're heading out. we're looking live here burlington bristol bridge. traffic is just starting to move once again. we had a bridge opening but traffic moving again so looking a little bit better right there. sticking with your bridge overview, the ben franklin bridge looking pretty good. westbound traffic just a few cars coming into the city. yesterday morning you were driving in the rain. today you are clear. we do have an early morning accident though here in horsham right on easton road so watch for it near moreland avenue. we're hearing there are injuries on the scene so emergency workers coming there. live outside of i-95 at broad street that's your southbound traffic headed towards the girard point bridge. no problems right now. a good look at i-95 with no problems. hopping into new jersey this is what it looks like on 42 if you're coming up from deptford or turnersville you're looking good so far. we have pretty light volume. matt and alicia. >> thank you karen. we continue to follow breaking news overseas. a highjacked egyptair plane has landed safely in cyprus an island in the mediterranean
sea and the president of that country is now saying the incident is not pr related to terrorism. a passenger claiming to be armed with an explosive belt forced the flight to change course. so far negotiations with the highjacker have resulted in the release of all passengers except for the crew and four foreigners. the highjacker is said to be an egyptian-american with dual citizenship and he's a doctor demanding a translator and political asylum. stay with "action news" and 6abc.com as they try to get all of those people including the highjacker off the plane. developing right now, the search for a hit and run driver who struck the victim so violently the man's body ended up in a burger king parking lot. "action news" reporter katherine scott is live where this happened along route 130 in pennsauken. katherine. >> reporter: matt, at this point police haven't released a description of the vehicle but we do know there's front end damage to that vehicle. they also have not released the identity of the victim.
now, this happened last night here along route 130 in the southbound lanes in pen salk can ken. the road is opened right now but it was closed for hours for the police investigation. police say a man had been crossing right around here on route 130 near browning road around 11:30 last night. according to police, he made it out to the median before being struck by a vehicle traveling south. the man was then thrown across the southbound lanes and he landed in a parking lot near a burger king and was pronounced dead at the scene. police were here looking for evidence and they did recover a front bumper that came off the striking vehicle and again, we don't have a description of the vehicle but there are a lot of businesses around here and the hope is that there are some surveillance cameras that can can provide more information to police. we are live in pennsauken, katherine scott, channel6 "action news." >> all right, katherine, thank you. new this morning, flames broke out inside a sheep barn in new castle county, delaware.
a farmer on the ground noticed smoke on the cranston heights property just before midnight. he was able to rescue about a dozen animals. the barn sits on an historic property from the 1700's. now operated as green bank mill, a living history museum. dozens of bricks fell off of a building and crashed right onto north broad street overnight. fortunately it happened at an hour where there weren't a lot of people outside. no one was hurt. building inspectors are now on the scene in north philadelphia to determine a cause. police have closed off the sidewalk and one lane of broad street while crews clean up the debris. >> the capitol visitor's center in washington will be opened today following a security breach that forced police to open fire. 66-year-old larry dawson of tennessee is charged with assault with a deadly weapon and assault on a police officer while armed. police shot him yesterday saying dawson pulled a gun in the center. he is in stable but critical condition. a female bystander also sustained nonlife-threatening
injuries. now, police say they arrested dawson last year and issued a court order for him to stay away from capitol grounds. the american airlines co-pilot who was taken off a flight bound for philadelphia over the weekend has been charged with operating under the influence. john maguire was escorted from the plane on suspicion of being drunk. maguire is from chadds ford delaware county. >> happening today, president barack obama will address the heroin and prescription drug epidemic that is sweeping the country. the obama administration will issue a proposed rule today that aims to increase medication based treatment for people addicted to opioids like codeine and morphine. in addition, 60 medical schools will committee to increased training for prescribing opioids. deaths linked to those drugs soared to more than 29,000 in 2014. that's the highest number on record.
the fbi has hacked into the iphone belonging to one of the san bernadino shooters without any help from apple. the government has now withdrawn its court order against the cell phone company which refused to unlock device. the fbi won't say how it managed to access the data on syed farook's home. apple with the final word here saying it will continue to increase the security of its products and also reiterating its position that the government's demand on them was unethical. >> turning now accuweather. not as windy as yesterday but still a little -- >> still pretty blustery. yeah, tomorrow saturday where high pressure settles over us and knocks those winds down. storm tracker6 live double scan shows you we're dry as we take a look outside. we have the camera shaking a little bit out there as we try and focus in on the platt bridge. and that's 'cause there is still a wind blowing around. it really built in yesterday afternoon and last night and it's still there. 49 degrees is your current temperature in philadelphia. your winds west-northwest at 20 miles per hour. and a lot of us are looking at
winds in the teens across the region. 49 degrees in philadelphia, so it is cool. 45 at allentown and reading. 47 in both wilmington and trenton. i knew that was going hit me. 47 degrees by atlantic city. part of the weather story this morning by the way is how the pollen count is back up and you are seeing evidence that of right now. we have satellite showing you some cloud cover. high and thin enough where i think it is going to probably filter out pretty quickly this morning once the sun gets over the horizon and we will wind up with plenty of sunshine. but one of the big stories today will be the fact that we have more gusty winds on the way. the winds won't be quite as strong as yesterday. out of the northwest at 15 to 30 miles per hour, gusting up to 35. yesterday, of course, we were worried about gusts up to 45 or 50 so not as strong but still strong enough to cause a concern about debris on the roadways whether it be tree branches or crash cans, something like that. temperatures are going to be cooler today, too. we'll still be in the 40's through most of the morning and staying in the 50's this afternoon instead of the 60's like we saw yesterday. your high about 57 degrees or
right in there around 3:30 or 4 o'clock this afternoon. windy, sunny and a little cooler. high temperatures across the region 52 degrees in allentown, 53 reading, 56 trenton, 58 wilmington and millville and 54 in cape may. tomorrow things get a little bit better. high pressure rolls in and with that high right over us that will knock those winds down plus we'll get more sunshine and we'll bump that temperature up to about 60 degrees and it's going to get even warmer than that as we head into thursday and friday. your exclusive accuweather 7-day forecast, windy and cooler today with a high of 57 degrees. tomorrow sunny and cool, less wind and a high of 60. and then sun gives way to clouds on thursday as a front approaches but ahead of that front we will get up to 72 for an afternoon high. there will be some rain arriving eventually. it may hold off until the evening hours which would give us a pretty nice day and then some of that rain spills into friday. by friday afternoon we're hoping for the return of some sunshine. another high of 70 degrees as we won't see that cool air rush in right away behind the

flying around out there. but this is the blue route near the schuylkill and traffic here moving very nicely unlike yesterday morning with the rain we're looking good weather-wise at least dry conditions for you as you head out on the blue route. we do have some construction going on out there. county line road between park road and fairmount closed until april 8th. use horsham road as your alternate. that's new construction starting this week. same situation in northampton. willow road near bustleton pike is shut down until june. tanyard road is your alternate for that one. we have crews on the scene right now on the a.c. expressway eastbound between the parkway and route nine blocking two lanes. that's going to be out there for about another hour so watch for about -- until about 6:30 they'll open that up again. let's go to your commuter traffic report. we found johnny bravo up early telling us about an object on the road north church street in parkesburg. not surprising you might find a few objects on the roads with the gusty winds that we have out there so look for that. 49 degrees currently in philadelphia. it's 45 in allentown. and 48 in millville.
now, yesterday we made it up to 70. today it's much cooler, 57 degrees for your high but we will have mostly sunny skies. it will still be windy, though, matt. >> got you karen, thanks. a strange wreck left a driver dangling from a power pole for nearly two hours. this is new video of the rescue effort in tennessee. crews reached the 56-year-old driver by smashing in a window then lowering her down in a bucket truck. the vehicle's fronts tire appeared to be caught on a guideline. it's not clear how the car ended up in that position. the woman was not hurt and no charges have been filed so far. fire raced up the side of a high-rise tower in the united arab emirate last night. the flames quickly spread to a second building. hundreds of residents were evacuated. so far only minor injuries have been reported. officials say they have brought the fire under control. now, this comes just three months after a similar blaze at a hotel in dubai on new year's eve. >> police in west deptford, new jersey, have charged a man with aggravated assault after a video of a violent attack
against a teenager went viral on the internet. police say 26-year-old paul cojocaru confessed to the crime. he was caught on cell phone video profusely beating a 17-year-old boy at a national park home. police will not detail the motive behind the attack but they do say that the two are acquaintances. they say the 17-year-old victim is okay and not in danger. new york city police commissioner's says an investigation is under way after officers arrested a postal worker. the march 17th confrontation was caught on cell phone video and that video shows four plainclothes officers and a lieutenant arresting postal worker glen graves. gravers says he was delivering mail when an unmarked police car nearly hit him. he says he shouted something at the car and then the officer got out and demanded identification. graves ended up handcuffed and then placed in the back that of unmarked police car. >> african-americans are targeted by cops.
i thought it would be even different if i put the eagle on my chest and uniform and go to work every day. situations are being looked at different, i'll be looked at different but obviously i wasn't. >> police have also gathered surveillance video from the time of the incident as part of this investigation. >> alaska airlines plans to resume dozens of flights today that were canceled due to a cloud of volcanic ash. a passenger on a plane captured this image of the pavlov volcano erupting on the allusioaleutian islands. the cloud had stretched 400 miles and 37,000 feet in the air yesterday. conditions around the volcano appear to be calming down. the ash though he can cause jet engine failure. >> 5:frick. two roaming roosters were shot dead and the woman who pulled the trigger is now facing some pretty serious criminal charges. >> we'll tell you which celebrity is no more on "dancing with the stars." david.

carolina jail with the help of a toothbrush. the sheriff says 26-year-old kelvin singleton somehow turned a toothbrush into a weapon and then forced an officer to let him out of the detention facility on sunday. the officer was not harmed. singleton has been jailed on charges of robbery and second degree kidnapping. >> a schuylkill county woman faces animal cruelty charges for killing two roosters. she says she did it because she he woke her up. the two roosters had been donated to the pioneer tunnel coal mine tourist attraction in ashland about a year ago. police say 21-year-old jena case so was sleeping when she heard the roosters coast guard just after 6:00 a.m. last wee -- crowing just after 6:00 a.m. >> they never bothered anybody. i never heard of them attacking anybody. they seemed pretty friendly. >> police say they didn't have any previous complaints about the roosters. the pennsylvania spca is
