water main break from yesterday afternoon along walnut, a short chunk between 49th and 50th will shut down for the entire day today. stick with market or baltimore avenue starting in a half-hour. there's a crash on the northeast extension northbound about 5 miles per hour north of the lehigh valley interchange taking out the right lane, so we're seeing slowing as you head toward the poconos something to be aware of, but no slowing just yet in camden county on the 42 freeway, northbound come the headlights 295 toward the walt whitman bridge so far so good on this thursday morning. concern of co-workers led to delaware county police to the gruesome discovery of a woman in a shower who was beaten and strangled. annie mccormick is live at the scene. >> reporter: matt, that's right, friends and co-workers of the victim noticed she had not been at work and not returning phone
calls. they came to the apartment complex and when they went inside the apartment they made the gruesome discovery and called police. this is video from yesterday, the police were out here knocking on doors with the crime scene unit. the victim was discovered dead in the hour with the water still running before 5:00 p.m. friends concerned she missed work came looking foreand-- forr and the manager let them in the apartment. police were called. police had of this to say about what they discovered inside. once inside, discovered the body of a 36-year-old black female laying naked in the tub with the shower running on top of her. the apartment is in disarray, there was some type of struggle. she is obviously dead.
we are waiting currently for a search warrant so we can continue our search. right now preliminary -- preliminarily it looks like she was strangled and beaten. >> reporter: there was no sign of forced entry which leads police to believe she may have known her killer. friends say they spoke to her the night before and she lived alone here. reporting live from seacane annie mccormick channel 6 "action news." a shooter victim from delaware died. the 40-year-old man who was shot died at the hospital about an hour later. there's no arrest or motive for the murder. there's no word on charges in a pedestrian crash that injured a 5-year-old little girl. a driver hit a girl at 17th and ontario in nicetown tioga
neighborhood last night. the little girl will be fine. the incident is under investigation. 5:36 happening today. republican presidential candidate john kasich will make an appearance in center city philadelphia. he has an event at the union league this evening. gop frontrunner, donald trump has done an about face on his comments over abortion. he said yesterday if it was ever band that woman who get the procedure should face some form of punishment. he said in a statement abortion providers should be held accountable not women. both president appear candidates slammed trump, hillary clinton called them horrific and telling. bernie sanders added it's shameful. they are campaigning in new york state today it holds its primary on april 19. the villanova wildcats have
