going to have a whole lot of problems in pennsylvania during the morning or early afternoon. by 2 o'clock we'll be at 81 degrees. but we'll probably still be dry. in those northern and western suburbs sometime after 2:00 or 3 o'clock, though, there could be some spotty showers and then right around 4:00, five a-:6 o'clock in the i-95 corridor we'll have some showers and perhaps a couple of spotty gusty thunderstorms. by 8 o'clock we should be drying out again. that shower activity pushing down to the coast and getting off the coast probably early this evening. karen rogers, we'll have more on those storms on future tracker6 and a big cool down ahead in the seven day. that's just ahead. >> so you might be driving in them on the way home but not on the way to work. traffic is moving again on i-95. this is your northbound traffic here as you head towards the airport. 95 at the blue route. we had some late running construction blocking the right lane and the off ramp but we saw really slow speeds but all lanes back opened, traffic moving okay. still a 17 minute ride between delaware and the blue route
where normally on i-95 it would be about seven minutes at this hour. after that fatal accident from yesterday pennsylvania turnpike is all back opened. i just got off the phone with police saying that the accident investigation is cleared so all lanes opened eastbound between willow grove and bensalem. so, no problems taking it today if you need to. we do is have some construction on the turnpike blocking the right lane and look for it westbound past valley forge. we had an accident here with debris all over the road. it was creating a mess in plim among township but it is cleared, road back opened, they picked up the debris and now you're good to go tam. >> thank you karen. we continue to follow breaking news right now. fire crews in delaware county are battling a gas line fire thethat engulfed an entire home. flames broke out on dog hill lane in valley forge. these images have courtesy of nozzle nut photography. that fire quickly went to a second alarm since tanker trucks were needed to fight
that plays. let's go live to the action cam. we see utility crews were called out to shut off gas lines on the property we still see firefighters on the property and through the trees you can see that they still have flames that they are keeping an eye on hoping that those burn out and do not cause any further damage. >> ♪ well, candidates are showing brave voices and frayed nerves as we head into the latest primaries. usually by this point the choices clear but this year voters in pennsylvania and delaware could really influence the race today. "action news" reporter katherine scott is live at a polling place at the mifflin school in east falls. googood morning, katherine. good morning, tam, that's right, there's primaries being held in five states today including pennsylvania and delaware and the candidates are hoping that their supporters flock to the polls today as they he scramble for more delegates. today is primary day in pennsylvania. and for the republicans, there's been a lot of talk about a deal between ted cruz and john kasich. neither will campaign in each
other's remaining strongest states. the theory is that will give them the best chance of denying donald trump 1237 delegates. while kasich enjoyed breakfast at the penrose diner cruz explained the arrangement to voters in indiana. >> it is big news today that john kasich has decided to pull out of indiana to give us a head to head contest with donald trump. that is good for the men and women of indiana it's good for the country. >> i've never told them not to vote for me. they ought to vote for me. i'm not over there campaigning and spending resources. >> reporter: in front of a crowd at west chester university trump denounced his rivals and their plan. >> you kept hearing oh they're doing well, they're doing well. i have millions of votes more than each one of them. >> reporter: meanwhile bernie sanders addressed more than 2500 people at drexel university. another one of his jam packed rallies that continue to draw independents and hard core progressives lured by his
antiestablishment views. at city hall courtyard hillary clinton urged about 800 supporters to get out and vote today. she has been polling ahead of sanders recently and is looking for a win in pa. >> remember, the goal here is to make sure we have a democrat in the white house next january. >> what this campaign is about is demanding that millions of people from coast to coast stand up, fight back. >> reporter: it's quiet here at mifflin now. things will get busier when the polls open at 7 o'clock. another thing to keep in mind is how pennsylvania al indicates delegates. there are 71 total delegates. of them 54 are elected today and those are people that are free agents they are not bound to the candidate that wins the popular vote. 17 other candidates will be bound to the state results will be selected next month at a gop meeting. the polls close tonight at 8 o'clock. we're live in east falls, katherine scott, channel6 "action news."
>> thanks so much katherine. we are watching several other races in pennsylvania. belmont plateau overnight. >> wondering what the rest of the day will look like david. >> well, most of it is going to be dry but later this afternoon another round of that stuff coming, okay. storm tracker6 live double scan rate now shows you that the rain is all up to the north and east of philadelphia and there are some thunderstorms off the coast so if you're down the shore you might hear some rumbles of thunder coming in off the ocean and you see some flashes of lightning out there but it is all on the way away from you. as we take a look outside we have sky6 in center city and there will be some sun mixing with clouds today for a good portion of the day later this afternoon another round of showers and perhaps some gusty thunderstorms. 59 degrees currently in philadelphia. comfortable enough as you step outside. might feel a little bit humid especially if you're working out or walking a lot. winds out of the east at 3 miles per hour, not all that strong. here's what happens with the rain. between now all the way up to 2 o'clock, doesn't look like there's much happening. by 3 o'clock the northern and western suburbs down in closer to philadelphia maybe a spotty shower or a rumble of thunder beginning to develop. i think the better chance of that is probably 4, 5 o'clock as we get some of these
showers and perhaps thunderstorms popping in and then we get up to 7 o'clock and most of this is on the new jersey side of the river and then getting on off the coast by about 9 o'clock tonight. so, that's the progression. it starts in the north, winds up down south. there is a slight risk for severe weather embedded in this. obviously from what you just saw not everybody sees a thunderstorm but what this means is that if there is a storm that pops up it could produce some brief gusty winds that could be very strong, enough perhaps to bring down some tree branches and we also are in the time of year where you have to look out for a little bit of small hail so that would be the issues along with the residual lightning that you always get from thunderstorms and a brief downpour. again, these are spotty but this is what to prepare for and expect if you do happen to hear thunder or see a storm heading your way. today's high is going to be 83 degrees. we'll clock that in at about 2 o'clock this afternoon. it's going to be a little early then the numbers will start to go down as that rain moves in and cooler air sweeps in with it. so, a warm day and mainly dry later this afternoon and this evening it starts to get
cooler with those passing showers and thunderstorms. 76 is the high up in allentown, 77 in reading. low to mid 80's in the i-95 corridor and down toward millville and it looks like the mid 70's today down the shore. your exclusive accuweather 7-day forecast, today's high 83, warm with that afternoon and evening thunderstorm. partly sunny and cooler tomorrow, 66 degrees and then thursday chilly with occasional rain and a high of just 59. we inch back up to 63 on friday, cloudy skies, could be a residual shower, maybe some sun coming back later in the day and for the weekend it looks like a pair of 68's the way things are tracking now. sunshine on saturday with a few clouds and clouds and sun on sunday, 68 degrees. there could be some sunday night rain for now it is holding off until the night, though. >> okay, thank you david. it is now 5:42 and still ahead on "action news" the city of cleveland will pay up in the aftermath of two officers gunning down 12-year-old tamir rice. we'll tell you just how much. >> a father turns to look at his son while on a texas

>> 5:45. good morning. we're taking a live look at atlantic city inform. might be a little breezy down there because we got a little activity, a little motion there on the sky6 camera. >> let's go on over to karen rogers. we have some wet roadways this morning. how is the commute looking. >> the thunder woke me up overnight and maybe it did you as well but that's off the coastline. at this point as you're headed out some of the roads a little bit wet and that's about it. let's take a look right now outside and check on what's happening here. this is delaware county i-95 by the commodore barry bridge. traffic here moving okay. northbound we had delays because of that late running construction near the blue route and it really caused problems but the traffic is thinning out. northbound looking a little bit better so if you have to head out you're doing okay at this point. let's take a look at some of the roads here like conshohocken road. this is new construction. closed between ridge pike and earnest station road and that's right now causing issues here in plymouth township. it started yesterday and it's
going to run through july so it's going to be a long time that you'll be dealing with that one. and in northern delaware we still have this water main break. it's been closing shipley road. it's closed once again right here at wilson road. silver side road is your alternate for that one. although we had the problems overnight with the thunderstorms, we don't currently have any problems for your morning commute. i think it's going to be more of an evening commute issue. right now 59 degrees in philadelphia, a warm 63 in millville, 54 even in the lehigh valley we're going get another line of storms and showers, spotty coming through later on. the key time frame from 2:00 to 7:00 f you're north it will be earlier, down by the shore close to 7 o'clock. they'll be scattered but any thunderstorm could be gusty with small hail possible even some damaging winds. it gets cooler after that, matt there thanks karen. a camera caught some terrifying moments for a texas father and his six-year-old son. dell bert latham and his son kasem were on a rollercoaster. kasem's seat belt released and he fell onto the floor of the cart. look at his face.
