the news. let's go over to david murphy with rain and karen rogers has traffic. >> reporter: the rain is sweeping into the west. those who are not wet, i know you would be looking at rain scooting off to the east, but with the area of low pressure down to the south. these bands of rain are coming in off the ocean and pushing to the west. we have heavy bands highlighted in yellow. that will be the story today especially in the morning and afternoon, with band after band after band with heavier rain highlighted east to west today before this pushes past us and gets off into areas north and west of us. 51 degrees right now under the rain drops in philadelphia. 351 in wilmington, in the upper 40s in millville. boardwalk in atlantic city and cape may. 51 in allentown. 55 in reading, the rain has not gotten the full impact going just yet. it will cool down out in reading once the rain arrives.
49 degrees on the backup, probably 50 by 8:00 a.m. it will be wet with cloudy skies, so rain gear important for the kids this morning. as we roll in the afternoon it's cool and damp. most of the rain will be up until 1 or 2:00 p.m., it will start to slacken off from the east to the west during the afternoon. it will be cool and damp with lingering drizzle and shower activity. today's high, 56 degrees we'll probably hit that at 4:00 p.m. we have issues at the shore. a coastal flood warning is in effect for areas along the beach and up into the bay during morning high tide between 7:00 and 9:00 a.m. where you will get minor tidal flooding, 7:30 and 9:30 is the evening high tide where we could have moderate flooding. keep your cars away from where you get the usual high tide flooding. >> reporter: it's wet out there, it doesn't stop the construction workers.
you see penndot with the arrow board blocking two right lanes, i-95 northbound by 320. soaking wet you have two lanes blocked, it's a slow go. pennsylvania turnpike we have a vehicle fire blocking two right lanes, pennsylvania turnpike eastbound between willow grove and bensalem. we saw the speeds jump up a minute ago. they may be in the process of clearing this out, but the vehicle fire has been causing a problem. the boulevard, southbound traffic you're making it through the wet roads heading toward the schuylkill expressway. you've got light volume out there. let's head into new jersey, 295 route 38 in mount laurel, traffic is moving already, matt and tam. a family in south jersey is mourning a second tragedy, a 22-year-old man who was paying his respects to his grandmother was gunned down outside the funeral home. katherine scott is live with camden county police with the latest on the investigation.
>> reporter: matt, that's right, people were there grieving one loss and now they are grieving another after a man was shot and killed outside a funeral home. a shooting outside a funeral home in camden as the viewing was underway. friends and family were at may funeral home at 4th and walnut around 7:00 p.m. grieving the loss of the 70-year-old rosa s arano. >> reporter: 22-year-old jonathan vazquez wanted to pay his respects, she was ready to go inside he was shot he was hit in the head and torso. he died at the scene. he was laying in the puddle of blood. i don't have any words to subscribe the crime here in camden. it's too much. >> reporter: relatives don't know who shot him or why, thing investigation continues at camden county police, katherine scott channel 6 "action news."
this story is brand new, two police officers shot and killed a pitbull that attacked a woman in north philadelphia. it happened on the 3200 block of north american street. police say the woman got out of her vehicle before midnight and the dog lunged toward her latching on to her leg. police arrived and the woman jumped up on the cruiser with the dog attach to her. police shot and killed the dog. police are searching for a road rage shooter along the blue route in conshohocken. they also the man fired are a shot at a car yesterday afternoon. the bullet pierced the passenger side door. the driver was not hurt. we'll have more including a description of the suspect's vehicle coming up in a live report at 5:30. a bomb shell report claims
the late joe paterno knew about the jerry sandusky rape claim decades before his arrest. it as he is a boy told paterno in 1976 that sandusky had abused him 25 years before paterno went to the university about reports of dusk -- jerry sandusky's abuse. lawyers say he never covered up jerry sandusky's actions. a judge granted jerry sandusky a new hearing to appeal his conviction. the lawyers will be back in court on may 20th. they will approve that prosecutors leaked secret grand jury material to find more victims. the 72-year-old was convicted of 45 counts of child sex abuse and serving 30 to 60 years in state prison.

joyride. a man and woman got control of the bus and police took the 12-year-old into custody. an armed robber pointed a gun at a 1-year-old child. a customer came in and didn't notice there was a robbery until the gunman charged at him. the clerk gave the robber money who fired a gun in the air, nobody was injured, but the robber may have had an accomplice. two black colleges in atlanta have are investigating an anonymous rape claim. it was posted with a twitter handling raped at bellman she said saying how she was sexually assaulted by four men at more
