good morning, it is 5:00 a.m., friday, may 20th. here's what's happening. classmates at a wilmington school are dealing with a tragic murder of a student one month after the death of another. we have a live report. a not so crafty crook is in hot water for a life of crime and stealing pipe that could have blown up a new jersey neighborhood. donald trump poked fun at the chris christie during an appearance in new jersey. first up, accuweather, today is going fob a beautiful day -- to be a beautiful day and karen rogers has the morning commute. >> reporter: today is the day we've been waiting for. as we start out, we could have high cloud cover, but a good looker start to finish.

i'm happy about the weather. looking at the construction eastbound wrapping up. no problems eastbound with the blue route, with penndot arrow board blocking the left lane. ben franklin bridge nice and clear, the roads are dry, an easy ride in if you're waking up early on this friday morning. the one issue we have is in bucks county. you want to watch it in warwick township. york road is shut down between bristol pike and meyer way. you have to stick to 611. all lanes are blocked there. kelly drive is closed between fountain green drive for the stotesbury regatta. delaware is mourning another death of a student. amy joyner-francis died in a
bathroom at howard high a month ago and now another student was gunned down not far from the school. katherine scott has more. >> reporter: we're told that grief counselors and support staff will be at the school in wilmington today at howard high school to help these students as they go through this very difficult time. this happened yesterday afternoon the latest round of violence in wilmington just a few blocks away from the school on the 900 block of clifford brown walk at 320 yesterday afternoon. the 15-year-old freshman was hit in the head and died at christiana hospital. detectives were out at the scene searching for evidence. it remains under investigation. there's a ten thousand dollar reward for information leading to an arrest, neighbors were going about their normal retunes when suddenly they heard gunfire. i was parking the car and opening up my door, i heard three shots, pow pow pow. i am not to look outside
and i seen the individual lying on the ground and i heard everybody screaming. >> reporter: principal said all the howard community is pained by the loss of the young man. the latest violence comes after the death of amy joyner-francis the 16-year-old died after being beat up in a school bathroom. three girls were charged in connection with the death. all what happened to the 15-year-old boy, it remains under investigation. police do not know who pulled the trigger. call police if you have any tips. katherine scott channel 6 "action news." thank you for that. students will be back at school in darby borough one day after a 40 caliber semi automatic handgun was found inside a locker. police took the student into custody after the discovery. police have been called to the school several times in the last week. there was a fight on wednesday and tension has been building. officials sent a letter home to
parents saying quote at no time was the handgun visible or used to threaten students. families are waiting for information about their loved ones on egypt air 804. it disappeared from radar while carrying passengers from paris to cairo. the greek defense minister said radar shows the plane swerved and plunged to ten thousand feet. live details from the satellite center coming up in the neck half-hour of "action news." 5:05. a camden county man is behind bars accused of stealing pipes from a home police say he could have blown up the block. police arrived to a strong odor of natural gas along reid avenue in runnymede yesterday. the homeowner was away from the week. police say one spark could have set off an explosion destroying several homes. i was scared for my life, you know in an instant we could
all be gone. 22-year-old william guennette is charged with burglary and risking disaster. he has a history of drug problems and trying to steal copper pike in order to sell them for cash. police are looking for a suspected car thief who rammed a police officer's car and took off running. police brought in the k-9 to track the suspect. the officer involved was not hurt. donald trump and hillary clinton will court voters on the opposite sides of the gun debate. the likely gop nominee will speak at the national rifle association convention today in louisville, kentucky. he has changed his position on gun policy over the years. back in 2000 he backed an assault weapon ban but has
retreated from those positions. clinton will appear with trayvon martin. clinton said during an interview yesterday that trump is not qualified to be president. happening today, people at arcadia university, the class, the under grads, 500 strong, yesterday it was the post grads who received their degrees. congratulations to all those graduates. today will make up for all the rain we've seen to this point. >> reporter: it will make up for the weekend, too. we're off to a dry start. take a look outside, lots of

day. if you're heading to the union at talen energy stadium. sun and clouds, nice and warm, 745 degrees, to start out. i will caution you want to bring a sweatshirt or jacket to add if you're heading to the union or the phillies for that matter. finish for the contest at 9:00, 66 degrees, the union playing great, hopefully we get a w tonight. 54 degrees overnight, clouds move in. it will be cool with the wind continuing on the light side. we get into the weekend we're looking at the wave of low pressure that should be just to the south of us on saturday. that will give us a couple of problems, first of all there will be gusty winds coming over the top of the low at the coast. not as strong inland. farther north you are the lighter the rain is. the farther south, the heavier it is. some could get an inch or greater. the model run shows us it might be dry at 9:00 a.m.
