impacting us today so looking good. we have construction crews out here. blocking a lane until 8 o'clock on the delaware memorial bridge southbound nydia and tam. >> all right, thank you, karen. on thursday president obama will yet again try to comfort families devastated by mass shooting. he'll go to orlando to meet with the families of the victims there. all officials give us a clearer image of the gunman and what may have played into his motive. >> a patron of pulse nightclub says he saw omar mateen at the club several times over the past two years. abc's elizabeth hur is live in orlando with the very latest. good morning, elizabeth. >> reporter: good morning, nydia and tam and yes, as investigators continue to dig deeper into the gunman's past, they are learning new information they are trying to piece together to try to zero in on that motive. from paris to new york and to orlando touching tributes for the lives lost.

>> not families and friends of the victims, your city is with you. >> reporter: and the message of hope for community still reeling from that night of terror. daylight now revealing the wall of the nightclub riddled with bullet holes and authorities releasing new information about why the swat team moved in. >> he had a vest and he did talk about putting a vest on some of the passengers. >> reporter: that suspect, 29-year-old omar mateen killed in the gun battle with police was able to legally buy the weapons used in the massacre despite having made two trips to saudia arabia and being under fbi surveillance for nearly a year for possible links to terrorism. >> i don't see anything in reviewing our work that our agents should have done differently. >> reporter: the fbi says it never found evidence that mateen was a terrorist and the gun shop owner maintains there were no red flags. >> an evil person came in here. this man held multiple security licenses. he passed app background check. >> reporter: in fort pierce

florida a look inside mateen's apartment after it was raided by fbi. this video provided to abc news by a tune in any vision tv crew showing family photos on the dining table and walls an expired florida firearms license and the room of the terrorist's three-year-old son filled with toys and a bike with a helmet. and of the 53 people injured in the shooting, 34 remain in the hospital and later this morning we understand some of them together with the surgeons who saved their lives will be sharing their stories of survival. reporting from order do, i'm elizabeth hur for channel6 "action news." nydia back to you. >> i'll be waiting for that elizabeth. thank you. funeral arrangements are pending for the west catholic graduate killed in the orlando massacre. akyra murray was in florida to celebrate her high school

graduation. both murray and carter were shot. only carter survived. grief counselors will be at west catholic prep high school all week to help students cope with the loss. our expanded coverage of the orlando massacre continues on you'll find more about those who lost their lives, videos from the scene and a photo gallery of tributes from around the nation. >> it's 5:34. back here we're following some breaking news. a vehicle hit a young victim with such force it launched her body some 200 feet. and the driver just fled the scene. let's go right on over to "action news" reporter annie mccormick. she's live on the scene along the roster in summerdal -- roost boulevard in summerdale. good morning. >> reporter: it happened right behind me at adams and the roosevelt boulevard in this in this crosswalk. now that the morning rush hour is picking up we're beginning to see how fast some of these cars can blow through here. witnesses told police last night that the minivan seen hitting this young woman and can youy killing her was going at an excessive speed and

actually threw her into the air. this is video from around 11:30 last night. that's when police say that the woman had the green light and was using the crosswalk when the vehicle went through the red light. the pedestrian was on her phone while she was walking across that crosswalk. now, accident investigators found her belongings scattered all over the roadway. they are still working to i.d. the woman who appears to be about 19 or 20. they tell us that she was pronounced dead at the scene. witnesses say the force of the crash sent her into the front window of that minivan, then she was thrown into the air. >> her body went -- rolled onto the hood of this vehicle. she hit her head on the windshield. and her body was lifted and traveled about 200 feet in a northern direction after being struck and that's where she landed on adams avenue at the

boulevard. >> reporter: now, that minivan that police are looking for was last seen headed on adams avenue. they say it's white or silver, about 10 to 15 years old and it will have damage on both the hood of the vehicle and also the windshield. they're urging the driver to turn themselves in and anybody that has information should call police. for now reporting live in summerdale, annie mccormick, channel6 "action news." nydia. >> annie thank you. now to another breaking story. a driver trying to get out of a parking spot jumped the curb striking four people on south street. this happened just before 1:00 a.m. on the 300 block. the vehicle also caused minor damage to a business. the pedestrians were checked out at the hospital for cuts and injuries to the legs and arms. police are still questioning the driver. >> the defense continues its closing arguments today in the corruption trial of congressman chaka fattah. his lawyers are arguing to the jury that the racketeering case is smearing a long time public servant.

the prosecution has been trying to make the case that fattah was corrupt paying back an illegal campaign loan with federal grant money and using nonprofit money to help family and friends. the jury could get the case as early as tomorrow. >> it is 5:37. tomb now for accuweather. near a really nice weather pattern especially for june. >> yeah, we sure are and today even better than yesterday if you consider that the winds are going to be down a little bit. storm tracker6 live double scan right now shows you that we are drive. stepping outside we have plenty of sunshine up over the horizon. although you can see over the ben franklin bridge a little more cloud cover out there this morning than what we had the last couple of early mornings. but overall we're looking at partly sunny skies today. still pretty bright and still pretty comfortable. comfort currently your temperature is 64 degrees. winds out of the north at 12 miles per hour, humidity still very low with that low dewpoint number. satellite shows you how a little bit more cloud cover has indeed begun to streak in overnight but overall we're looking at no worse than partly sunny skies. at times it might be a little cloudier and at other times a

little sunnier. kind of moving back and forth. getting a high of 84 degrees. 64 by eight clock, 68 by 10 o'clock. that 80 will supplied at about 4 o'clock or so and we'll spend the majority of the afternoon in the mid to upper 70's. low humidity and just a little bit breezy. 79 degrees in allentown. your lie in redding is 80, 80 in trenton, seventy nine wilmington and millville and if you're down the shore today, not a very bad day, very similar to yesterday, lighter breezes, 73 on the beach in cape may, 74 in ac. 64 degrees in the ocean. still cool if you're going to dip your toes in. tomorrow a warm front comes through. that will trigger a clouds and sun mix. behind that front wheel get up to 84 so a little bit warmer and looks like we stay dry. late at night and in through the day on thursday though there is the chance of some spotty showers coming in ahead of a cold front so we will start to transition into cloudier weather on wednesday and probably a little bit damp on thursday. future tracker6 picking up the thursday morning story. beginning at 4:00 a.m., the

an accident involving a motorcycle. we are hearing there were injuries on the scene. it's on route 100 southbound at county line road. so, watch for that accident. and construction crews are out here blocking the right lane on the pennsylvania turnpike. it's westbound between valley forge and downingtown so look for that. on your computer traffic report we bound to sat man up out early talking about an accident on 130 southbound in burlington township in new jersey so watch for an accident on monday 30 coming in to us on the waze app. 50 degrees right now martins creek, 56 in pottstown, 60 if coatesville, 61 chester. feels pretty good out there. 64 degrees in center city, low humidity today. just a little bit of a breeze. not as windy as yesterday. 62 in hammonton. 67 in dover and a nice high today of 80 with at least partly sunny skies. nydia. >> karen thank you. important information for families now. a new law in pennsylvania requires children underage two to be strapped into a rear facing child safety seat in the back seat. governor tom wolf signed the legislation yesterday.

it replaces a law allowing children of all ages to ride in front facing seats in the back or front. the new law takes effect in two months. police will issue verbal warnings for the first year but after that violations will carry fines of $125. >> democrat hillary clinton is on the campaign trail in pennsylvania hosting a public event in pittsburgh. the presumptive presidential nominee will then meet with bernie sanders in washington after d.c. holds the nation's final primary of the election season. clinton addressed the orlando massacre during a stop in cleveland yesterday blaming terror funding in the middle east and assault style weapons for these kinds of attacks. clinton also warned demonizing all muslims only plays into the hands of the extremists. donald trump responded to the orlando attack by saying as president he would ban all immigration from areas of the world with a history of terrorism against the united states. he noted that orlando's shooter omar mateen's family is from afghanistan butter

incorrectly called mateen afghani as well. he was born in the united states. the presumptive nominee will spend part of his 70th birthday at a rally in greensboro, north carolina. >> a number of vigils have been held throughout the region for the victims of the orlando massacre. hundreds came together at the soldiers and sailors monument in wilmington delaware. they prayed by candlelight for the dead and for the wounded that they fully recover. >> ♪ >> they gathered along the banks of the delaware river in new hope bucks county. organizers said she wanted to take a stand against violence and hatred. a camden county new jersey congregation came together for the victims last night. holy trinity lutheran church in audubon new jersey held a service. the pastor showed his support by wearing a rainbow vestment. >> all new on "action news"

fiery crash along a new mexico highway a police officer stopped to help a stranded driver. the driver's pickup truck then rolled backward into a lane of traffic and look at this, seconds later a semi truck slammed into the pickup truck sending it flying into the patrol car which then burst into flames. the driver of the pickup truck went to the hospital with minor injuries. no one else was hurt. >> a seven-year-old new york girl is creating art bigger than she is. lola glass was discovered while drawing graffiti on a wall in new york city using a spray marker at the time. glass was invited to join the bush wick corrective a gravy fatty and street project in brooklyn. it invites artists to paint outdoor murals. >> i saw big murals and i thought i would really want to do that and that dream came true. >> the seven-year-old says it is an honor to display her work. usually when you are caught doing graffiti you get in trouble especially a kid, no drawing on the walls but i think little lola's got something going on there. >> i think so. an honor for us to see that, isn't it. >> it is now 5:52. up next, new jersey man is

colors i come up with. looks like chartreuse. that's gorgeous. >> i think that about sums it up. beautiful. >> yeah. >> ♪ >> new this morning, a new jersey man wanted for a triple murder is now in custody. pennsylvania state police captured eric absolute in chuter county. the 32-year-old who used to live in pennsville is accused of shooting three men to death on monday near a state park in a rural part of west virginia. deadly pedestrian crash is under investigation in south jersey. chopper6 is over the scene in pennsauken late last night. along northbound route 130 at north park drive. police say an suv hit the person shortly after 10:00 p.m. investigators have not yet identified the victim nor said who is to blame. a shooting in the city of camden has sent one person to the hospital. chopper6 was over the unit block of north 27th street as police investigated last night. no word on the victim's condition this morning or what sparked the gunfire. >> the montgomery county man charged in a church slaying has pleaded not beltway.

police say mark storms killed 27-year-old robert braxton the third in late april. court documents show storms stepped into an argument that braxton was having with ushers at keystone fellowship church in north side wales. braxton punched storms and storms shot braxton. storms' attorney plans to argue self did he first. the lansdale man remains behind bars on charges of voluntary manslaughter and reckless endangerment. >> it is now 5:57. tributes to the victim. philadelphia pays its respects to those lost in the orlando massacre including a local high school graduate. >> also a south jersey community remembers a budding pop singer as a celebrity reaches out to the family.
