glasgow, delaware. annie mccormick has the story. >> reporter: there was a crash and a fire with the child trapped inside the pick up truck. there was a delaware state trooper and bystander who saved the young child. take a look at the video. the nasty crash happened in glasgow, delaware on route 40 and 896. the tractor-trailer and pick up truck collided after officials believed the tractor-trailer crossed over the highway on route 896 and ended up on the southbound side and rear ended the pick up and sent it out on to the highway. you can see children's backpack scattered on the road. the child was trapped in a child

seat in the rear portion of the pick up. luckily a delaware state trooper and passer by rescued the child. the youngster is at ai dupont hospital being treated for burns. the two adults suffered cuts and bruises and burns and in stable conditions. the driver of the tractor-trailer is at christiana hospital with minor injuries. the highway is closed we are working to gather details and as we find out road closures and openings we'll bring it to you. back to you. >> a 15-year-old girl was shot in salem, new jersey, she suffered a wound to the leg during a burst of gunfire on elm street. police are looking for the shooter and trying to determine if the teen was intended target. developing this morning the two americans swimmers have finally been allowed to head for home after they were pulled off a plane in question by rio

police for hours. they met a crowd of furious brazil i can't i can'tians and . the swimmers were stopped for vandalizing a bathroom and not being robbed as lochte claimed. >> reporter: the olympic sized event is whether or not ryan lochte and his teammates were robbed. brazilian police say they were not robbed after a night of partying, but instead vandalized a gas station bathroom before being questioned by armed guards before paying for the damage. they were taken to the police station where they faced hours of questioning. both swimmers returned to their

hotel rooms before boarding a flight last night. lochte and his teammates maintain they got into a taxi and headed for the olympic village. lochte laid out the details to numbers news. >> he pulled out a gun and cocked it and put it to my forward and said get down. >> reporter: the police released surveillance video saying one of four olympic swimmers are seeing breaking down a bathroom door at a gas station and getting into a fight with the security guard. sources say their story still holds up, because three minutes of video is being missing showing the men being held up and bullied and sitting on the curb until they handed over cash. the olympic committee said we apologize for the detracting ordeal what would be a

york city firefighters suffered from heat exhaustion as flames spread from a home on staten island and 6 more on the block. crews have contained the fire and looking for a cause. new this morning, a dramatic rescue in northern california turned out to be a case of daughter knows best. 66-year-old woman was in the middle of a hike when she suffered a stroke on sunday. luckily her daughter insisted that they take a local locater beacon. emergency crews say if she didn't have the device it may have been taken days to find her. the stroke impacted her balance and vision but her resolve is crystal clear. >> being alive is very, very important and that's what i plan
