philadelphia. 70 in millville. 76 in cape may. the dewpoints are up there, we have slipped in philadelphia down to 68, but still noticeably humid and more so as you get down to the darker shade of green in south jersey and good portion of delaware. as we roll through the next 1 hours, 73 degrees by 7:00 a.m. 81 by 10:00 a.m. noon, 86. moderately humid today across the region, a little bit stickier the farther south you go, we are in the low 90s after breaking the heat wave yesterday. we'll be at 90 degrees on the nose and high of 91 around 4:00 p.m. looks like it stays humid this s weekend, oppressive sunday with strong gusty thunderstorms, matt pellman. starting monday big time relief i'll be talking about that smile on in the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast. >> reporter: we have big time delays and we're not smiling on the schuylkill expressway. you're hitting a wall of traffic
from the boulevard through spring garden street. they are blocking all lanes from time to time as they try to clean up an overturned vehicle accident as they try to get the car uprighted and out of the way. they are letting the right lane squeeze by on the expressway. it's parking lot on the schuylkill expressway eastbound, stick with the river driver mlk or the kelly. 6 miles per hour on the eastbound side of 76. even while, the off-ramp from i-95 to girard that was closed that is reopened. we're seeing a broken down vehicle westbound on the turnpike, center lane is blocked. farther west past malvern, the right lane is blocked because of construction. action cam is on the scene, 896 college avenue at 40 atlantic
city ski highway. that's the tractor-trailer that was involved in the overnight accident. there was a pick up truck involved you can see the remnants of that, the pickup truck caught fire. 896 at 40, use 72 and old baltimore pike instead. tam you have more details on what happened in glasgow. >> we do, you can see the aftermath. it was a nightmare of a scene. that tractor-trailer lurching across the highway and slam into the black pick up truck the pickup bursting into flames. there was a child in the back seat. that little boy was saved. let's go over to and live at the sat -- annie mccormick live at the satellite center. >> reporter: good morning, tam, you can see the charred wreckage of the pickup truck. a little child was inside. a delaware state trooper was there as well as a bye standards
pulled the child to safety. the nasty crash happened on route 40 and 896. the tractor-trailer and pick up truck collided after officials believe the tractor-trailer went across the highway 896 and ended up on the southbound side rear ending the pick up and sending it across the hair. the two adults in the -- across the highway, the two adults escaped the crash with minor injuries. the child was trapped in the child seat in the rear. the youngster is in ai dupont hospital being treated for burns. the adults are in stable condition. the driver of the tractor-trailer are injured and going to christiana hospital with minor injuries. matt pellman will haveup dates dates -- will have updates about the opening and closures of the highway. we're working to find out more about the conditions of all the people involved.
annie mccormick channel 6 "action news." >> a seemingly unprovoked attack left a man injured in wilmington. the assailant stabbed 49-year-old man on the 100 block of popular street at 7:00 p.m. police believe the attacker who fled the scene may have been hurt. an assistant boy scout leader is under arrest accused of having sex with a child. the chester county district attorney's office is worried there may be more he victims out there. michael kellon has been charged with child abuse. prosecutor said it was the bravery of the victim that put him behind bars. >> the victim was very strong. >> they are urging anyone with information about possible victims to come forward. a suspect is in police custody for a shooting that
killed a father in the germantown section, he drove through raging gunfire. he was struck in the crossfire. his 3-year-old daughter was in the back seat but was not hit. police are preparing charges against the suspect and looking for a second shooter. >> maribel aber is live at the nasdaq. >> t-mobile is bringing back unlimited data plans. sprint is dropping prices for unlimited services as at&t announced eliminating overage fees for customers. federal reserve is divided about the next interest rate hike. olympic swimmer ryan lochte is in hot water after his gold

south. 76 in cape may. satellite and radar showing up on future tracker 6 there's not going to be much on radar. up until noon basically sunny skies and clouds developing in the afternoon. every now and then you see a blip popping up and leaving especially in south jersey. i think most of you will be dry today. up in allentown, it will be warm, 89 degrees. it will be humid with lots of sun. cool drinks, down the shore, 85 degrees, sunny and humid, as well. maybe more humid down the shore than inland. in philadelphia, high of 91 under mostly sunny skies, humid, winds variable at 6 to 12 miles per hour. if you're heading to dinner or a movie, not bad, dropping from the mid 80s to 70s.

it. the person in the overturned vehicle was able to get out on their own. that was good news. not good news for drivers. eastbound lanes have reopened approaching spring garden street. there's a delay. as we pull in the waze app. we check the speeds, 3 miles per hour on the eastbound side of the schuylkill expressway from approaching the boulevard into the earlier accident scene approaching spring garden street. you want to avoid the eastbound schuylkill expressway, stick to the river drive or ridge avenue or lancaster avenue, route 30 because the eastbound schuylkill expressway is at a standstill coming away from the boulevard. we have 30 miles per hour on pennsylvania turnpike coming away from fort washington to norristown because of a disabled
vehicle. also philadelphia folk festival this weekend, lots of extra traffic along salford station road. morton delco downed pole blocking amos road stick to academy avenue to get around that. >> 80,000 people have registered for disaster assistance over the deadly floods in louisiana. homeland security jeh johnson looked at the relief efforts yesterday. johnson said he proud of response of guard members to the unprecedented flooding but knows there's week of tough work ahead of us. >> the picture of this boy in syria has gone viral showing him covered in blood in the back of a ambulance, he was pulled from a building in aleppo during an
airstrike. he was left alone in the ambulance as medics attended to other victims including the boy's family. there was no crying, no shock, as he just wipes the blood in a daze. it's serving a reminder of the 100,000 children who have been killed in the fighting in syria. >> these are pictures of connor ian cullen the son of sean cullen who was killed in a car accident killed on 295 in march. the photographer offered to take pictures of his son for free

>> welcome back we've got quite the breaking news coming out of north jersey, this is the view coming from our sister station wabcs live over north broad street and remained boulevard in newark. two new jersey transit buses ran into each other at 6:00 a.m. at a high rate of speed. if you know anything about the buses, lots of people on them getting over to the new jersey train station or the new york path or other points and coming into philadelphia, as well. it's unclear how many people are on it. as we watch firefighters make their way into the bus.

side especially in south jersey and southern delaware where oppressive humidity is part of the package. dewpoints below oppressive in philadelphia. 73 degrees by 7:00 a.m. 10:00 a.m., 81. and you can plan on it being in the mid 80s if you're out at noontime. 3:00 p.m., 90 degrees, high of 91 around 4:00 p.m. by the time we slide into the upper 80s by dinnertime. it will be moderately humid today. matt pellman humid weekend, stormy sunday and big time relief on the way after that. >> reporter: we could use relief on the roads. it's been a rough spot in several spots one of them being glasgow, delaware, intersection of 896 college avenue and 40, pulaski highway. there's the tractor-trailer that's involved in the crash. there's the pick up that was involved and caught fire. annie mccormick will have more details on what happened here,
now you can see some traffic getting by, but coming back out here, i would just avoid 896 at 40 in glasgow this morning. back here on the maps, 72 and old baltimore pike 896 and 40. meanwhile, there's an overturned vehicle crash on the schuylkill expressway eastbound near spring garden that's gone, but it's slow from montgomery to spring garden. but the travel times and the speeds are on the uptick. 34 miles per hour that's good news. no delays on i-95. just off the schuylkill expressway in lower merion there's a crash at belmont and old bell month at the wawa. emergency crews responding there. there's a broken down vehicle on the pennsylvania turnpike westbound by fort washington and norristown, center lane is blocked, now you're seeing delays west of willow grove. >> we have an update on our breaking story, let's go live from an aerial view from our sister station in new york city
where two new jersey transit buses collided into each other, possibly at high speed in newark, new jersey. we have just been told that one person has been killed and nine other people have been injured. at some point hopefully we'll widen out so we don't see the people here, looks like they are suffering. the two transit buses collided into each other and one of them actually looked like it nearly broke in half. there you see parts of one of the buses on its side right now. it happened at north broad street and remained boulevard in newark at about 6:00 a.m. it is unclear why this happened, why the buses may have been traveling at high speed, but we know the information just coming in that one person has been killed 9 others injured as first responders there take some of the victims to awaiting ambulances and then eventually to those hospitals. you see other people being treated on the sidewalk, so it
looks like we have a situation where first respond errs trying to get the people to the hospital right away and they are treating them right there. that's the story, we're following this bad accident in newark, new jersey. the other breaking story, we're returning right now. rescuer pull a child from the back of a pickup truck that burst into flames this morning, the vehicle was smoldering when the action cam arrived. annie mccormick has the corrode live from the satellite center. >> reporter: matt, we got initial reports that a delaware state trooper was one of the people that helped the young boy, a 6-year-old boy out of the vehicle along with a bystander. we know the condition of the little boy, we are told he is in critical condition at the hospital. take a look at the video. this is video from the scene, the nasty crash and fire that happened in glasgow, delaware past 2:00 a.m. on route 40 and 896. the tractor-trailer and pickup
collided after the tractor-trailer crossed the highway of 896 and ending up on the southbound side sending it across the highway. the 6-year-old child, the young boy was trapped in the rear in a child seat. luckily a passer by along with delaware state trooper rescued the child. the youngster is at ai dupont hospital for being treated for burns and head injury. we are told he is in critical condition. the other adults in the car, a man and woman we are told they suffered minor injuries and they were taken to the hospital just for valuation. we just got that update. another update, the 33-year-old, the driver of the tractor-trailer injured went to christiana hospital, he is serious, but stable. here's some of the police radio activity as troopers arrived on the scene and the vehicle was on fire. take a listen. >> fire inside the vehicle. >> reporter: moments later the officer road back this call --
radioed back this call. >> we have one subject extricated from the vehicle at this point. >> reporter: the action cam was on the scene as smoke rose from the burn out shell of the pickup truck all around the vehicle, spent fire extinguishers used to put out the flames and rescue the child. when you look at the wreckage it's hard to believe everyone made it out of the vehicle alive. the update we got, we learned that bystanders suffered burns while helping the little boy out of the vehicle. we are told that the bystander was treated at the scene and refused to go to the hospital. learning more information about this, throughout the morning we'll bring you all the updates. reporting live from the satellite center, annie mccormick channel 6 "action news." back to you. >> thank you, annie. gunfire in a quiet south jersey town injured a 15-year-old girl. she was shot in the leg and remains at cooper medical
center. police have not said if the teen was the intended target. a massive child porn bust rounded up 40 people including a former teach, adam farrington was arrested along with another person who had 76,000 image also of children on his computer. two u.s. swimmers who were caught in a lie are heading home. they were released and expected to arrive in the u.s. about 15 minutes from now. it started when ryan lochte said he and his teammates were robbed at gunpoint. police said he and his teammates

involving two new jersey transit buses. this is a live aerial picture from newark. one person died. it happened less an hour ago in newark. authorities say the buses may have been traveling at high speed one was nearly broken in half. authorities seem to have treated this as a triage situation where 15 people are being treated for injuries right on the ground. here's video taken earlier. one person was seen jumping out of the buses seeking treatment. so a deadly accident, at this point really don't know how it happened, two buses traveling at a high speed with passengers on board crashing into one another leading into many injuries and one person killed. >> a terrible scene. let's go over to matt pellman to talk about what we're dealing with our commute good morning. matt. >> reporter: the worst fear for people who take njt and septa
everyday. i hope something like that doesn't happen. a vehicle flipped over a while ago, it's gone, now the delay is gone, as well. as we look live montgomery drive eastbound come the headlights toward center city moving along at a much better clip than 20 minutes ago or so. off the schuylkill expressway there's a crash in lower merion by the wawa. gypsy lane in east falls blocked off until the middle of this week. don't use that to get to or from lincoln drive. the disabled vehicle westbound past 0 fort washington on the turnpike, gone. it's sluggish coming toward willow grove, but improving. lower frederick a crash at 73 arena swamp creek road. philadelphia folk festival a little traffic around the farm at station road. we're cleaning up from a bad accident that truck that caught fire and the tractor-trailer.
i would avoid 896 and 40, stick with 72 old baltimore pike. chapman road closing for construction. 273 or old baltimore pike around that. >> a clerk at a store in patterson, new jersey outsmarted the robbers. one pointed a gun at a clerk. >> i want a galaxy iphone. >> we don't have it, you can take whatever you want. >> the thieves ransacked the place, they didn't realize the clerk slipped out of the back door. before leaving he put down the front gate and trapped the gate inside. they found tools to open the gates, by the time police got there, the suspects were gone.
