"action news" spoke to gaby's mother minutes after she was notified of that arrest. >> it was good there they got them but nothing's going to change the fact that my daughter is gone and i have a loss. >> earlier this month police arrested and charged brown's mother and girlfriend for allegedly providing false alibis and hindering the investigation. "action news" reporter jeanette reyes will have more from gaby's mother coming up tonight at 6:00. >> also developing right now police in delaware county are still searching for a killer after a woman was found with her throat slashed on the front porch of her friend's house. >> officials thought they had a person of interest in mind. well now the investigation is focusing on someone else. the victim was found on the 600 block of bailey road in yeadon around 3 o'clock yesterday morning. >> "action news" reporter chad pradelli live at the yeadon police department with more on this investigation for us. good evening, chad. >> reporter: hey, monica. police have cleared mark epps in this case. now they released surveillance video of another man they

believe to be involved but now they need a name. yeadon police are now calling this man a person of interest in the killing of natasha gibson. this is surveillance video taken from a beer store at 59th and runny cath flynn philadelphia. the time stamp says 12:34 a.m. on thursday and detectives believe gibson had her throat slashed about an hour earlier. police say the killer likely cut himself and the blood trail from the crime scene led them to the store. it is a 1.8-mile walk and sources say surveillance cameras traced the alleged killer's movements. detectives also found the suspected murder weapon a steak knife in a storm drain along the route. gibson's bodies was found in the 600 block of bailey road around 3 a.m. yesterday. a friend became concerned when she didn't show up. he'd find her body on his front porch. neighbor joan holiday heard a commotion butter didn't think much of it. >> it's really scary so, i don't know, you just have to

be careful wherever you go now. >> reporter: police initially called gibson's boyfriend mark epps a person of interest but cleared him after a lengthy interview. now police are hoping someone recognizes this man. his face is not clear but detectives want you to take a close look at his clothing. and if you know who that man is, you can call yeadon police or you can call the delaware county criminal investigations division. they are looking for tips. they are trying to get a name of that individual so anyone with information can urged to call. i'm live in yeadon, chad pradelli channel6 "action news." >> thank you chad. well, getting our first look at the deadly police-involved shooting in charlotte north carolina that sparked several days of protests there. this video shows the moments before and after keith lamont scott was shot. in fact you can hear his wife pleading with police not to shoot him. officials say there is both body cam and dashcam footage of the shooting but they will not release it until the investigation is complete. >> reporter:. much more on today's

development there is charlotte coming up at 5:30. >> in oklahoma, dashcam and aerial footage of a deadly police involved shooting in tulsa is raising serious questions about the city's police force there. this morning the officer who fired the deadly shot turned herself in. she now faces manslaughter charges. abc's stephanie ramos has been following the story from washington. she's live now with more on the fallout. stephanie. >> reporter: rick, terrence crutcher's family believe his death was racially motivated. they say their pleas;, pleased the officer who shot terrence will face criminal charges but also understand that nothing will bring terrence back. today the tulsa community family gathering to honor 40-year-old terrence crutcher. >> terrence crutcher believed in the power of education to transform his life. >> reporter: crutcher was shot to death one week ago today. killed by officer betty shelby who was charged thursday with first degree manslaughter.

this morning shelby who had been on the force for five years was booked into a tulsa county jail then released on a $50,000 bond. >> i determined that the filing of the felony crime of manslaughter in the first degree against tulsa police officer betsy shelby is warranted. >> reporter: it all started friday night. officer shelby came across crutcher whose suv had stalled in the street. shelby's lawyer says she feared crutcher was armed and high on narcotics or pcp. >> i've got a suspect won't show me his hands. >> reporter: aerial footage you can see crutcher's hands are up as he walked away. >> he's got his hands up there for her now. >> reporter: shelby fires that fatal shot when she says he reached inside his car. attorneys for crutcher's family say no way. >> the window was up so how could he he be reaching into the car if the window is up and there is blood on the glass? >> reporter: tulsa police say crutcher did not have a weapon on him or his suv. prosecutors adding there shelby acted unreasonably by escalating the situation.

officer shelby lab placed on administrative leave with pay. in washington, stephanie ramos channel6 "action news." >> rick and monica. >> all right, stephanie, thank you. turning to politics now in a stunning announcement from texas senator ted cruz tonight. less than two hours ago cruz posted on his facebook page that he will vote for republican candidate donald trump in november. trump and cruz were bitter enemies during the republican primary earlier this year. cruz refused to endorse trump at the rnc in july. in a statement this afternoon trump said he was greatly honored by cruz's endorsement. >> now this comes just days before the first faceoff between trump and democratic presidential nominee hillary clinton. the two will square off in a nationally televised debate on hofstra university's campus in new york state monday night. both clinton and trump are preparing for what could be a record breaking television audience that night. clinton has been off the campaign trail most of the

week. her campaign tells abc news she has been immersing herself dale in briefing materials and engaging in mock debates with someone playing trump. according to trump's team, he has been watching old debate footage but his preparation sessions are more relaxed. our own brian taff and sharrie williams will head to hofstra university for monday's debate. live reports from them start sunday night. the debate itself begins right here on 6abc at 9 p.m. monday. >> a familiar face joins senator pat toomey he at a campaign stop today in delaware county. senator john mccain talked to supporters this morning at the v.f.w. post 928 in folsom. he focused on toomey's record in helping to get legislation passed that benefits the nation's veterans. mccain also called toomey a work horse who gets things done in the senate. meanwhile toomey's rival katie mcginty spent her day in western pennsylvania. she spoke at pittsburgh city hall today to demand that pat toomey stop attacking wall street's watchdog in light of

the wells fargo scandal. polls show mcginty and toomey he in a close race heading into november. >> turning to accuweather on this friday the calendar may say fall but it still feels like summer out there. sky6 hd looking live at the center city skyline for you, highs reaching into the upper 80's today but a wave of cooler air is moving in tomorrow ushering in a more seasonable feel for our area. meteorologist cecily tynan live outside with a look at that forecast. >> hi monica. this could be the last day this warm until next year and really it's been unseasonably warm all week long. on tuesday the temperature 6 degrees above normal, wednesday 10 above, thursday 11 above and today so far 13 degrees above the normal high of 75 degrees, so, yes, this is the first full day of fall but it certainly still feels like summer. but if you look at temperatures across the northeast, philadelphia is 88 but syracuse it's only 60 degrees and burlington vermont it's 58 degrees. it's 30 degrees cooler than here and there's a back door

courts a 2800 square foot player locker room and a state of the art hydro therapy area. >> an event today in wilmington delaware aimed to honor those in recovery from addiction. the fifth annual recovery month rally took place at the rick van story resource center on second straight. the event featured speakers food and games. those recovering drug addiction alcohol addiction and me mental health disorders were able to share their stories with each other and offer support. >> the fbi is now looking into an incident between actor brad pitt and one of his children. actress angelina jolie filed for divorce from pitt on monday. sources from inside her camp are citing differences in parenting styles as a reason for the split. pitt reportedly had an incident with one of the couple's children on their private plane the day before the couple separated. the fbi says it is now gathering facts and will soon decide if an investigation needs to be launched. >> marriott international has officially closed on its

philadelphia international airport and we have loads of sunshine out there. gorgeous day but definitely on the warm side. not feeling all like the first full day of fall. 88 degrees in philadelphia. that's 13 degrees above normal. allentown 87. wilmington 88. millville 84. you really have to get right along the beaches to get that cooler air. cape may currently 76. but satellite6 along with action radar showing the system that will bring us the autumnal air right in time for the weekend is this cold front. it's stretched across new york state. the moisture associated with it would pretty much evaporating so this likely will come through dry late tonight and what that will do, is kind of open the air for canadian air mass to roll in and that will cause temperatures to drop as we head through the weekend. tonight, though, friday night football games should be just beautiful. mostly clear very comfortable. kickoff temperatures around 75 degrees by the fourth quarter dropping down to 70 and as we head through the night, the clouds will be rolling in, could have a spotty shower well northern

video was shot by keith lamont scott's wife as she was approaching the scene. police were surrounding her husband's vehicle and she he could be heard pleading with them not to shoot. we get the latest from abc's heather wilega. >> reporter: the shooting of keith lamont scott has shaken the city of charlotte. protestors continue to demand the release of police videos and a state of emergency still remains in effect. >> don't shoot him. don't shoot him. he has no weapon. >> reporter: this dramatic cell phone video capturing the moments just before and after the shooting death of keith lamont scott. by police in charlotte north carolina. the person who shot the video and whose voice you hear he is that of scott's wife. pleading with officers not to shoot her husband. then this gunfire. [gunfire] >> reporter: did you shoot him? did you shoot him. >> the charlotte mayor and police say they have body cam and dashcam video of the shooting. but say they won't release the videos until the investigation is complete.

>> the intent is to get it out and release it in a package so that it can be consumed and fully understood. >> reporter: chief putney says scott had a gun and that the object seen by this feet in this still photo is that weapon but in a video released by the family that object is not seen. keith scott's family has seen some of the police videos and are calling on them to be released to the public. demonstrators agree and filled the streets of charlotte for a third flight in a row demanding transparency. the protests peaceful this time. some even thanking the national guard. earlier this week one protestor justin carr died in a shooting. police today announced an arrest in his death. >> our violent criminal apprehension team, c cat just app left-handed raekwon borum. >> reporter: police have not released any more details on that arrest n charlotte heather walega channel6 "action news. >> we have developing news from washington right now where president obama has vetoed a bill that would allow

families of 9/11 victims to sue the saudi government. that decision is setting the stage for a contentious show down with congress. the president says the bill would remove the doctrine of sovereign immunity which holds that one country he cannot be sued in another country's courts. but congress likely has the two-thirds majority needed to override his vote tomorrow. it would be obama's first ever veto override and if made into law the legislation will allow victims of terrorism to sue foreign governments for damages. transcripts of flynn 11 calls between post nightclub omar gunman omar mateen and dispatchers have been released. three calls took place over a period of 50 minutes. the first call was made in the nightclub's bathroom with several hostages there. mateen identified himself then said "i want to let you know i'm in orlando and i did the shooting." he then said "i pledge allegiance to and you hear an unidentifiable name on behalf of the islamic state. during the second callly

dispatcher asked if anyone was hurt and mateen said that's none of your business. mateen hung up during the third call after a negotiator told him to come outside with no weapons. the june 12 shooting claimed 49 lives and seriously injured 53 others. >> a woman was killed and a man injured in a crash this morning in burlington county. happened around 2:30 a.m. at west front street in woodlawn avenue in florence township. the two were pinned inside the vehicle and had to be extricated. the road had to be closed for several hours while police investigated. still not known though exactly how the crash happened. >> a philadelphia family is issuing a plea tonight for help after somebody took their dog. it happened wednesday night outside this rite-aid in the 65 lunn block of castor avenue in mayfair. andrew collins was walking his three-year-old pitbull named joey when he decided to go into the store to get his dog some water. he tied joey's leash to a pole outside but when he got out of the store joey was gone. >> not just a regular dog. he's -- he's family so he

a record drug bust and arrested dozens of drug dealers who they say cut their drugs with surprising and dangerous substances. investigators seized more than 70 pounds of heroin with street value of about $13 million. 25 people including suspects from pennsylvania and new jersey were arrested. officials say the dealers mixed their heroin with everything from novocaine to nail polish even chicken anesthetic. >> we allege that they sometimes used addicts as human guinea pigs to test the heroin laced with deadly cutting agents just to see if it killed them. >> officials also seized 2-kilos of fentanyl which is an opioid up to 100 times more potent than morphine. >> moment of hope today amid relentless violence in syria. a young girl was pulled alive from the rubble of a building in aleppo. rescuers delicately cleared the stones around her and they pulled her out by her own ponytail. there she is. they then rushed her to the hospital of course where she

>> meteorologist adam joseph is here now with again the first weekend of fall and starting to feel somewhat autumnal this week. >> it will. that temperature is going to tumble so to speak as we go into your saturday especially by sunday. as we take a look at storm tracker6 live double scan a lot of sunshine to round out the week and again, extremely warm temperatures. in fact, the lehigh valley topped off at 90 degrees today. so, the question is really did we welcome fall yesterday because the first full day was summer-like. allentown 3 degrees from the record for the date.

philadelphia 89. 89 for wilmington today. 88 in trenton. and the atlantic city airport 87 degrees. numbers are still cooking across the area especially in inland locations. upper 80's still the poconos 78 degrees and right along the shore, temperatures there mid 60's -- 70's i should say with that wind coming in off the water but you don't have to go far inland to jump that temperature up at least 5 degrees. as we look at satellite and radar to the north there's a pencil thin line here of showers developing. that is the actual cold front that continues to slowly sink in from the north and you can see a ribbon of clouds with it as well. that will continue to push to the south and as it does, the clear sky we have early this evening will transition to a cloudy sky overnighter. could be a stray shower in northern areas but by the time the front gets towards the poconos, the moisture is going to fall apart overnight, 61 in the suburbs, 65 for center city. then as we get into your

saturday a lot of clouds when you first wake up tomorrow so don't be alarmed if you get up and it kind of looks a little dreary out there with that cloud cover. the afternoon turning much brighter, 75 allentown, 76 in philadelphia. 74 millville. lower 70's at the shore. so, perfectly normal temperatures as we start the weekend tomorrow and then as that high continues to settle in from eastern canada especially the second half of the week we'll see the coolest temperatures since spring arrived. not only in the afternoon hours of sunday but especially sunday morning and monday morning and there could even be some high elevation frost in the cat skills, the adirondacks in new york and near the verge of the poconos, poconos should be frost free sunday night and monday night but just an indication that some of these strong high pressures coming in from canada do hold quite a bit of chilly air this time of year. sunday at 4:25 that is when
