even kill children and adults. >> disturbing photos and warnings have popped up across the country and have now shown up in our area. >> this is just one of the dozen of messages posted on social media that read coming to newman goretti on monday, and philadelphia school will shoot all of the kids and teachers. so far the threats have just been hoaxes but local officials are not taking any chances. >> "action news" reporter bob brooks is live in northeast philadelphia with much more, bob. >> reporter: sarah and walter, good evening. when threats like ones you were just talking about you have to take them seriously. what is happening is someone on the social media account called philly clowns dot 25. they have made threats against the school like the one behind me, against our students and right now a hunt is on to find them even as the federal level. they have been popping up, all over the country. typically in random place's long side roads, parking lot, they have been labeled scary

clowns. but now philadelphia police department has put on you a warning asking to you keep an eye out for them here. a post has been gaining momentum with shares and likes on social media. the account is titled philly clown dot 215. post is rather alarming and threatens philadelphia school students. it states quote, we come into all northeast charter high schools. it goes on to say, we will be after your let out, on wednesday. then, a second post from the accountings on to say, the gang is in philly. y'all ain't safe. it is 12 of us, you you heard. but today the philadelphia pd along with the philadelphia school district sent out this joint news release in reaction. it states, the philadelphia police department is actively investigating the social media post and pursuing those responsible for them. "action news" has also been told that home land security is now aiding in the investigation. today there has been reports

of an actual clown sighting recently at boyle park in northeast philadelphia. we spoke with neighbors about it who didn't want to go on camera. they say scary clowns were here chasing kid, but adds that the clowns ran away when a parent showed up. okay, back out here live, some schools within the philadelphia archdiocese have also had threats made against them and they have the archdiocese release aid statement tonight. part of it reads quote schools specifically name, in threat, have been in direct contact with law enforcement, and we will have a police presence tomorrow, as a cautionary measure. reporting live from northeast philadelphia, bob brooks, channel six "action news". sarah. >> bob, thank you. now to the latest on hurricane matthew, the powerful storm continues to churn toward jamaica, haiti, part of the cuba once it passes there it is still not clear where this storm will head. residents in jamaica spent the day buying supplies such as

food, water, batteries and fuel. the haitian government has opened 1300 shelters in preparation for the storm. meteorologist melissa magee over at the "action news" big board with the very latest on the strength and track, melissa. >> sarah this is one we will continue to watch as we go through the rest of tonight and early into next week. hurricane watches and warnings have been posted as well as tropical storm watches and warnings. we are under a hurricane warning for jamaica, portions of haiti, we have a warning, tropical storm warning for areas in the dominican republic and we have that hurricane warning posted for southeastern sections of cuba. here is the reason why. it is hurricane matthew still a category four storm. you can see center of the storm and all of the convective activity, showers, storms, around this center of circulation. the wind sustained at 145 miles an hour, and as it is moving to the south of jamaica and south of haiti. the here's projected path with this storm. it is moving to the northwest at 5 miles per hour, and as we

get into later tonight it will continue that northerly jog, and as we get into monday coming very close with the approach in between jamaica and also into haiti. it will continue that northerly path as we get into the rest of this week getting very close to the carolinas and we will have to fine tune this forecast as it reaches mid-atlantic region. back here at home it is just 65 in philadelphia with that constant northeasterly wind. fifty-seven in the poconos. sixty-nine in dover. lancaster coming in at 68. why is it so cool? you can see satellite six with action radar we have a upper level low, that is still sitting and spinning, to our west. this will finally, lift on off to our north and east, as we get into the rest of tonight and, for that matter, into the day on monday. evening planner looks like this 66 degrees, still cloudy at 7:00 p.m. mostly cloudy sky at 8:00 p.m. and six 46789 staying in the lower 60's for rest of tonight and cloudy, mist and drizzle overhead but sunnies making a

come back as we get into monday, those details with the full, exclusive accu weather forecast. just released new details about thursday's deadly crash in hoboken, about a new jersey transit train that includes details as to what the train engineer's told investigators. "action news" reporter janet reyes is live from the satellite center with those details. janet. >> reporter: sarah and walter the causes very much a mystery but investigators are learning it will be more difficult as they search for clues. we now know only black box recovered was not operating at the time of the crash. signals group has found no signal anomalies for signal system leading to the terminal. >> reporter: finding cause of the new jersey train crash that killed a woman and injured more than 100 others is proving to be a difficult task for investigators. this is afternoon ntsb vice chair, villa gonzales says ongoing investigation so far indicates visibility was clear. train was operating normally.

the train brakes appeared to be fine. >> yesterday our recorders experts worked with the experts from the manufacturers to access data, from the recovered locomotive event reporter. >> reporter: official where is hoping that the train's black box would offer more insight. >> unfortunately the event recorder was not functioning during this trip. >> reporter: she says that the train's engineer thomas gallagher says he started work at 6:45 in the morning, felt rested, his cell phone was turned off and in his backpack. seconds before the crash he was traveling at 10 miles an hour but that still needs to be confirmed. >> engineer said he has no memory of accident. he remembers waking up on the floor of the cab. >> reporter: investigators hope more clues can be found at the crash site, but getting to them is the biggest concern. >> on the north side the beams looked like a dangerous version of pick up sticks. we have all played that game of pick up sticks and if you incorrectly pull out one stick it effects integrity of the

other pieces. of course, in this case, the consequences would be very serious. >> reporter: event corder that was obtain was 20 years old and that was one that was not operating at the time of the crash. is there a second would be, much newer, that is still trapped in the debris. investigators are hoping to get access to it as soon as possible. hope, of course, is that one was operating at the time of the crash. reporting live from the sat center, janet reyes for channel six "action news". >> this investigation far from over. thanks, janet. man was critically injured this afternoon after he was shot in the port richmond section of the city this was the scene just before 1:00 o'clock along the 2900 block of martha street. detectives say that the victim was believed to be in his 30's, was shot once in the head, and once in the back. the victim was taken to temple university hospital where he remains in critical condition. the gunman remains on the loose. it is not yet clear whether wet roads played a part in the bad crash on main street in manayunk overnight. driver of this pickup truck lost control, went through a

fence, and flipped vehicle on to its side on the 3700 block. the driver was injured in the crash, but did not need to go to the hospital. he is known as the big piece, not only because he set a essential part of the phillies organization but also because he has given so much to the community, and the city of philadelphia. to daze ryan howard donned the phillies red and white pinstripes presumably for the last time. the field. hall of famer mike schmidt presented him with the commemorative plaque, for howard it was hard to fight back the tears. >> my family has grown with all of you. >> reporter: for fans it what's motional as well, on the field howard has been a force, accolades include national league rookie of the year in 2005 and national league most valuable player in 2006. >> i appreciated everything he has done, giving us a world series championship. >> kind of emotional because he was one of my favorite phillies. it will be weird seeing him in the different uniform if he is playing next year. >> earned this. >> reporter: howard has given back to the community in many forms often to children, donating a library any south philadelphia for children who accepted a challenge to read more. the recently his foundation opened up a youth baseball academy. made these newlyweds day sweetener 2009 when he took a time to pose for pictures. >> i think he has helped a lot of people. very congenial. i think he is a good person,

of dickinson street. he died a short time later at penn presbyterian medical center. no further information has been released about this case. delaware county motorcycle club rode through streets of media to honor local police officers killed in the line of duty. sent tour yan motorcycle club hosted the law enforcement ride. motorcyclist and supporters gathered early at media's rose tree park, to honor the fallen. all proceeds go to the delaware county police memorial fund. runners and walkers came out for a different cause, annual race for hope began this morning. here are philadelphia's naval yard. it remembers and recognizes people hoff been diagnosed with brain tumors. so far the race has raised more than $800,000, for awareness and research efforts. meanwhile more than 2,000 people showed up this morning, at villanova stadium to raise money for and awareness about down syndrome.

today marked 15th annual buddy walk and family fun day. plenty of food, fun, even special appearances by swoop and phillies fanatic. all proceeds benefit the down syndrome program at children's hospital of philadelphia which supports those with down syndrome along with their families all year round.

and welcome back, everyone. as we are taking a live look at the clouds and moisture that is still overhead. storm tracker six live double scan radar is showing it looks dry but there is low level

moisture. at this hour we're dealing with mist, drizzlal cross delaware and lehigh valleys. it is certainly on the cool side because of the clouds, and all of that precipitation. sixty-five currently in philadelphia after a high today of just 67. fifty-seven up in the poconos. sixty-five in reading. at the coast in cape may, and, 07 in millville. satellite and action radar you can see why we have been unsettled for past several days. we have upper level low that is over great lakes and as we get into tonight, into tomorrow, this upper level low will finally start to move on off, to our north and east and that will allow for some late daze clearing, as we get into monday afternoon. the call from accu weather for rest of tonight we have got mist, drizzle over a mostly cloudy skies, areas of fog developing overnight dropping down to 56 in the suburbs and 59, in philadelphia for overnight low. here's future tracker six at 6:00 in the morning still a cloudy start to the day. give yourself some extra time for the commute because

visibility could be an issue early tomorrow morning with areas of patchy fog. that upper level low wants to disperse to our north and east and as it does so we will get in the sun breaks but we will also leave around a little bit of moisture for poconos and areas in south jersey and down to ac as well. call from accu weather tomorrow afternoon morning cloud, fog, a few afternoon sun breaks and high temperature of 76. seventy-three in allentown. seventy-three in cape may. over to the tropics keeping a close eye on matthew still a category four storm a major hurricane. the wind at 145 miles an hour as it is to the south of haiti and to the south of jamaica. you can see center of circulation here with convective activity. the showers and storms around the center of the storm. project path with matthew is moving to the northwest at 5 miles an hour, and moves to the north later on tonight and then coming very close to jamaica and haiti as we get into monday and it will continue on that northerly
