"action news" at 12:30 continues with rick williams, sara bloomquist, and meteorologist, david murphy. >> we begin with break news from center city. an apparent smash and grab burglary at a high end clothing store. it happened at boyds philadelphia. and bob brooks live from the scene with the latest. >> reporter: sara and rick, hard to keep things quiet or secretive when are you on chestnut. but this is where it happened. boyds right behind me, the front display window is smashed out and they have boarded it up. starting to paint it white right now. we just sort of got here to the scene and we are piecing it together and we heard from police that at 4:30 this morning they got the call about this. they found a mannequin from the
front display lying right here on the sidewalk and noticed that a lot of the display items in the front here had been knocked over and a car bumper lying here on the sidewalk. at this point we haven't been told what is stolen from boyds, we went in and tried to speak with management and they declined to comment. i see a lot security cameras around here. we'll dig around and see what we find. maybe someone can show us a better picture of what was going on down here. but it looks like a smash and grab here at boyds philadelphia clothing store. >> bob, thank you. traffic is a mess along the northeast extension of the pennsylvania turnpike at this hour. four tractor trailers and at least one car collided on the northbound lanes in tal min son
township. it shut down the highway between the landed dale and quakertown interchanges, forcing detours and forces massive delays. no word on when it's wreckage will be completely cleared . two people accused of ramming into a vehicle with two police officers inside. this unfolded in the city's fern rock neighborhood. katherine scott talked towities. >> it started with a traffic stop a block away and ended with two people being taken into custody. >> heard bam and wow like a crash happened. >>tisha daniels started to record this video with her cell phone. one of the witnesses saw saw the commotion at 2:00 a.m. at fern rock. >> i couldn't see it and i ran down stairs to the door to make sure no one hit my car. >> it all started on the 1600
block of warknock street when two officers tried to pull over the honda civic, as the officers approached the car the suspects took off and when they got there there were two officers in an unmarked car, they responded to the call and with we waiting near the interests section and that is when the suspect rammed into the unmarked car. >> the cars racing down the block and then a big bang. one suspect got out and ran to the apartments nearby, the other was in the car and taken into custody. a large amount of marijuana including at least one plant was in the vehicle. >> they tried to escape but he couldn't go nowhere he was on his butt. >> they got him down and put the handcuffs on once they were on they were off of him. >> the officers had aches and pain but they are expected to be okay. police are searching for a man that shot two people in
southwest philadelphia. they just released this surveillance video showing the suspects shooting at the victims, you can see the gun go off several times outside of the lucky garden chinese restaurant along the 2400 block of m wood avenue in southwest philadelphia, the suspect went into the restaurant and shot at least one other person there. the shooting happened on october 13th but police have not found the suspect. investigators are gathering evidence in a double shoot that injured two people in north philadelphia, it happened in a first floor apartment on north 11th street. the 41-year-old who lives there was shot in the stomach, a man in his late 20s shot in the chest. it's possible that the gunman knows the younger victim and both are expected to survive. >> police are searching for the man that kidnapped a boy in a car. police say that a woman left her
car running with her 6-year-old inside and she went to use the atm and a man jumped in the car and took off. and the man abandoned the car nearby and the child was not injured. now to the accuweather forecast and big changes are heading our way from sky 6 hd at our temple university cam looking at is the center city skyline, a windy and cool day but be prepared for a drop in the temperatures. get the heavy coat ready. david murphy is live on the terrace with his heavy coat. he has more details. >> i have a heavier one. tomorrow morning you'll see me in the extra gear. right now the jacket is required. cooler today than yesterday and the winds are kicking in and you get outside and experience the chilly air it's a precursor for things to come. a freeze warning for the season and all the counties highlighted in blue and most of the south
jersey and newcastle county delaware under a freeze warning until 9:00 tomorrow morning and it's a frost advisory including the city of philadelphia. delaware county and on up i-95 to trenton. and then a frost advisory to cape may county new jersey, you want to get the potted plants in and maybe get the hoses stowed and the spigots shut off tonight too. we have cloud cover mixed with the sunshine of the next hour or so. we started off sunny like yesterday and more clouds and sun mix the rest of the way. chilly side. 55 in philadelphia, yesterday we were still hanging on to the low 60s. 51 in allentown and 57 in cape may and the winds are a factor. we have gusts up into the mid-20s and areas where you don't see a current gust in the shaded colored areas are you in and out of the 20s. probably get up to the 30s at times this afternoon. here is how it goes the rest of
the way. 37 by 2:00 and a high of 58 by 3:00 and you see the numbers tumble down through the 40s into the mid-40s by 3:00 and well down into the 30s and after that 37 degrees at dawn tomorrow and some spots down to the freezing mark, i'll show you where they go the lowest when we step inside with future tracker 6, and we only have to deal with the cool down for 24 to 48 hours as things get better for the weekend. >> david, thank you. a fire destroyed a house in levittown in buck county when firefighters arrived, flames were shooting through the house on union road. and it took firefighters more than an hour to get it under control. no word on how the blaze started. firefighters say three people were killed in an apartment fire in northern new jersey, it damaged four apartments in hillsborough, and it appears to have started in a
fourth floor bedroom of one home. federal prosecutors are cross examining bridge gate defend, bridgitte kelly. she says she told the mayor of ft. lee that it may be pay back for not endorsing the governor's re-election bid. state lawmakers are expected to decide soon if a new atlantic city financial rescue plan is acceptable. if not they move forward with a state takeover. mayor don guardian moves toward. and they will lay off 100 municipal workers and the plan relies on a tax settlement with

meteorologist, david murphy is back now with a closer look at the changing forecast heading our way. >> you can feel the colder air coming in from the breeze out there. and temperatures definitely drop overnight and stormtracker 6 live double scan showing us we are virtually dry but sprinkled out west of the philadelphia, just north of the lancaster. if you see something out there. it's not going to last long nor will it have much impact. as we look outside. we have clouds that have begun to gather over the region along with sunny breaks. looks out at the ocean from cape may. not exactly a beach day we are
on the chilly side. 55 in philadelphia and the dew point down there at 33. an indication that the surface air is pretty dry and if you get a sprinkle they are really falling apart. winds from the west northwest at 7 miles per hour and we expect gusts higher than 30 miles per hour later today. starting off sunny like yesterday and like yesterday we have a sun and clouds mix precipitation is caught up in the clouds and not much will reach the ground here. 58 is your high in wilmington and 54 in allentown and mid-50s in trenton and toms river. and 56 in cape may. that is what to you expect on your thermometers this afternoon. don't expect it to stay as mild as those temperatures, 2:00, 57 and bum up to 48 by 3:00. and 40s by 8:00 and mid-40s by 8:00 and continuing on down overnight into the 30s. here is how it goes.
8:30 tonight we have 40s out there but as we get toward 6:00 in the morning, temperatures are potentially below freezing in the northern and western suburbs, maybe the upper 30s in philadelphia, but mid-30s in trenton and millville and places in the rural part of the south jersey and the northern section of delaware and newcastle county. most of them will sink to the freezing mark too. that is why we have the freezing mark in all the areas around the i-95 corridor and a frost advisory in philadelphia and points close to i-95. remember this frost warning or freeze warning, starts at midnight tonight and continues until 9:00 wednesday morning and also the frost advisory in spots that is pretty much along the same timeline. the coldest temperatures occur during dawn, that is almost when we get the morning low before the sun comes up and temperatures are near the freezing mark in spots and this is probably when the growing season ends and as i mentioned a
half hour ago. homeowners a good idea to unscrew the garden house and let it drain and that way you don't have water in the pipes to cause you damage in the winter. 53 is the high tomorrow and chilly. once we get rid of the morning frost and thursday a system from the west and gives us some rain. your exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast 58 and sunny and clouds gathering and blustery and cool and maybe a reemergence of rain in the afternoon. and after a frosty start it's sunny and cool with a high of 53, breezy on thursday and rain arriving in the midmorning hours and continuing on and off through the day into the evening. 60 is the high and dry again on friday. partly sunny and 61. we'll call it mostly cloudy on saturday, a high of 65 degrees, there is the chance of a spotty shower and most of the molds are not overplaying this highly right now.
