details. good morning, gray. >> reporter: good morning, tam, what a frightening morning for the family, they wake up to find the intruders inside the home. take a look behind me you can see the police on the scene in 0 south philadelphia. police say this happened before 4:30 a.m. right south 21st and passyunk avenue. a family of at least five were inside. the child was downstairs we don't know how would the child is. he wakes up to the intruders inside the home. he is able to make a mad dash out of the back of the house, run down an alley away to a 7-eleven several blocks away, he called police. he hurt the bottom of his feet running to the gas station. police say nothing was taken from inside the home. i asked a sergeant if the intruders had any weapons. he said it he is not sure.

you have to realize, the child sees the masked intruders shaken up and startled by this. may have seen something may not have seen something. i was able to talk to the parents. they did not know a whole lot of information they were shaken up and would not talk on camera. off camera they said they have to get to the hospital. they said they wake up an know their son is out of the house. there child has injuries to the bottom of his feet running down the alley to get help. as we get more information we'll bring it to you, gray hall channel 6 "action news." >> we have more on the officer involved shooting in juniata as breaking news last night at 11:00 p.m. police called after a man threatened to kill himself.

when police got to the scene they found a man with a knife pointed at his own chest. they ordered him to drop the knife, he refused, they tasered him. moments later he lunged at the mann with the knife that's when the officers opened fire. he is in the hospital in critical condition. the plane carrying vice presidential nominee mike pence skidded off the airport last night. there were no injuries in the rough landings that occurred on a rainy evening. annie mccormick is live in bucks county where mike pence is expected to campaign today. >> reporter: all signs that the rally will happen at tc millwork at 2:00 p.m. everybody is preparing for it, we saw another gentleman come from right way courier to drop off banners. new tweet governor mike

>> welcome back taking a live look there, penns landing at 6:15, 50 degrees right now. let's give karen rogers the flew and see what she has for us. >> reporter: i have breaking news coming out of west philadelphia, a car rear ended a septa trolley route 10 trolley while it was stopping to pick up passengers. there are injuries on the scene. it just happened, no word on how serious the injuries are. unsure if this will affect the route ten trolley. i would imagine delays because of this. an accident involving the route ten trolley, a car hit the back of it while stopping for passengers 41st street and lancaster avenue out of west philadelphia. the other big problem this morning, i have two weather clickers and no traffic

clicker, there we go. the other problem is the atlantic city expressway eastbound at route 42. police say it was a single-vehicle accident, the car smashed into the guardrail. looks like they removed the car from the scene, but we see the flashing lights, they have to be out there for a while fixing the guardrail that was damage on the atlantic city expressway eastbound. the right lane will be blocked a little while longer at 42. if you're heading out on the majors, i-95 an 18 minute ride from woodhaven to the vine is basically clear. starting to slow down in the usual spots no major delays. schuylkill expressway eastbound and westbound looking good. blue route to the vine. an easy ride on 42 from the ac expressway. i want to warned you especially with the single vehicle accidents. we have winds gusts that's blowing around wet leaves that could make roads slick in spots.

situation, something no family wants to go through to wake up and find intruders in your home. this is an active scene in south philadelphia. police say it happened before 4:30 a.m. we have video we want to show to you, this is happening saying long the 2200 block of south 21 street in south philadelphia. the family of at least five were a sleep inside the home. a child not clear how would the individual is, sleep downstairs wakes up to two masked men inside his home. the initial report say they were armed, that's not clear. anyway the child makings a mad dash to the back of the house, he makes his way down the alleyway and to a 7-eleven where he calls police for help. the child cuts his feet in the process of running away from the home. he is taken to the hospital where he his now recovering. now, i asked police about if anything was taken.

they say nothing was taken from inside the home. the suspects fled the scene possibly the child inside scared them away. good news, the child not hurt. i was able to talk to his parents they would not talk on camera they were shaken up. they were on their way to the hospital. they say they woke up to come to find out someone was breaking into the house and the child was in the hospital. they are thankful that's okay. police detectives are talking to the child trying to get more information. certainly a developing story we'll stay on top of this throughout the day and bring you the latest information as we get it. live in south philadelphia, gray hall channel 6 "action news" back to you. >> developing three parked cars were to find on a philadelphia street -- were torched on a philadelphia street on the 3200 block coral street in kensington. it was a rough landing
