rogers good morning. >> reporter: we have clouds to start out, there's clouds inching up in the southern delmarva and there's rain coming tonight. 37 degrees as you step outside in philadelphia. it's colder this morning. just down the pike in wilmington we're on the freezing mark. below freezing in reading, lancaster, 36 in trenton. 27 degrees in millville and 350 in cape may. wind not all that strong, we don't have to worry about windchill. 35 degrees by 7:00 a.m. lots of sun, 10:00 a.m., 47 degrees. we are going to get milder later. 5 degrees by noon. after 12 you'll see the clouds get thicker, 62 is the high, 54 degrees at 6:00 p.m. sometime after 6:00 p.m. in philadelphia, the rain will start to push up from the south.
i'll show you the rain when it arrives and when it gets out of here tomorrow, that's coming up in the seven day. >> reporter: that's tomorrow, this morning we have a dry ride. we're looking good, this is blue route approaching route 1, southbound traffic a few cars heading toward i-95. not a delay just yet. it's early looking good on the roads. all the majors in good shape. we're not seeing accidents on the blue route, schuylkill expressway or i-95. in kensington we have a fire location annie mccormick has been updating on that frankford avenue and lehigh avenue. indian creek road we had an accident blocking a lane, it's cleared, traffic is moving better. live on the boulevard, southbound traffic heading toward the schuylkill expressway no delays no problems just yet. >> president-elect donald trump is busy working on his transition to the white house. he announced two key appointments over the weekend as his first post-election interview aired on television. katherine scott is live at the
satellite center following the details. >> reporter: matt this is a wide-ranging interview that covered a number of campaign pledges and issues. he was asked about the acts of violence cropping up across the country in his name and he was saddened to hear about them and wants them to stop. president-elect trump named two top advisors reince prebis was named as chief of staff. campaign ceo steven bannon will be the chief center stage gist and -- strategist and head council. trump sat down for an interview with 60 minutes. on immigration he said he will focus on criminal undocumented immigrants. >> after the border is secured
and everything is normalized we'll make a determination on the people you're talking about who are terrific people, they are terrific people. >> reporter: asked about roe v. wade he said the issue of abortion would go back to each state. he spoke about pointing a supreme court justice. >> i'm pro life. the judges will be pro life. >> reporter: trump said he will reject the $400,000 salary and take one dollar. >> you have both houses. >> reporter: and we have the president. we can do things -- it's been a long time since this happened. >> reporter: the president of china spoke with donald trump over the phone this is the first time they have spoken since he went on the campaign trail. he hopes the two countries move forward in cooperation. katherine scott channel 6 "action news." >> protests over the election
results continued in philadelphia for the 5th straight night. the equality coalition plans on demonstrating every night until trump is inaugurated in january. >> it's not the problem, he is a symptom of the bigger problem. >> there's a lot of hate going on right. i want to show there's we're standing against that hate. >> reporter: several hundreds protesters marched around city hall earlier in the day and down market treat to independence mall. >> a fire at a tire shop filled the air with thick black smoke in the kensington section. it broke out at joel tire store at 3:00 a.m. the took 40 minutes for crews to get the blaze under control. there were no reports of injuries. philadelphia police arrested two teenage boys in connection with a flash mob attack in center city. police say a group of juveniles started attacking people on the 1600 block of walnut street
saturday night. an off duty police detective tried to intervene, his eye socket was fractured. his wife was attacked. police are looking for as many as our other suspects. we're a waiting an update on injuries of a firefighter in chester, delaware county. he was trapped in the basement of a home that caught fire last night. the firefighter is being treated at crozer hospital. a driver hit and injured a woman walking along dunkin road at kirkwood highway. no word on the woman's condition. the driver topped at the scene. 5:35, congressman-elect dwight evans will be sworn in in washington, d.c. the long time state representative won on tuesday with 90% of the vote. pennsylvania's second congressional district which includes parts of philadelphia and montgomery county has been
