rogers good morning. >> reporter: we have clouds to start out, there's clouds inching up in the southern delmarva and there's rain coming tonight. 37 degrees as you step outside in philadelphia. it's colder this morning. just down the pike in wilmington we're on the freezing mark. below freezing in reading, lancaster, 36 in trenton. 27 degrees in millville and 350 in cape may. wind not all that strong, we don't have to worry about windchill. 35 degrees by 7:00 a.m. lots of sun, 10:00 a.m., 47 degrees. we are going to get milder later. 5 degrees by noon. after 12 you'll see the clouds get thicker, 62 is the high, 54 degrees at 6:00 p.m. sometime after 6:00 p.m. in philadelphia, the rain will start to push up from the south.

satellite center following the details. >> reporter: matt this is a wide-ranging interview that covered a number of campaign pledges and issues. he was asked about the acts of violence cropping up across the country in his name and he was saddened to hear about them and wants them to stop. president-elect trump named two top advisors reince prebis was named as chief of staff. campaign ceo steven bannon will be the chief center stage gist and -- strategist and head council. trump sat down for an interview with 60 minutes. on immigration he said he will focus on criminal undocumented immigrants. >> after the border is secured

results continued in philadelphia for the 5th straight night. the equality coalition plans on demonstrating every night until trump is inaugurated in january. >> it's not the problem, he is a symptom of the bigger problem. >> there's a lot of hate going on right. i want to show there's we're standing against that hate. >> reporter: several hundreds protesters marched around city hall earlier in the day and down market treat to independence mall. >> a fire at a tire shop filled the air with thick black smoke in the kensington section. it broke out at joel tire store at 3:00 a.m. the took 40 minutes for crews to get the blaze under control. there were no reports of injuries. philadelphia police arrested two teenage boys in connection with a flash mob attack in center city. police say a group of juveniles started attacking people on the 1600 block of walnut street

saturday night. an off duty police detective tried to intervene, his eye socket was fractured. his wife was attacked. police are looking for as many as our other suspects. we're a waiting an update on injuries of a firefighter in chester, delaware county. he was trapped in the basement of a home that caught fire last night. the firefighter is being treated at crozer hospital. a driver hit and injured a woman walking along dunkin road at kirkwood highway. no word on the woman's condition. the driver topped at the scene. 5:35, congressman-elect dwight evans will be sworn in in washington, d.c. the long time state representative won on tuesday with 90% of the vote. pennsylvania's second congressional district which includes parts of philadelphia and montgomery county has been

the 30s and upper 20s. bundle up. 37 degrees in philadelphia. that's one of the milder numbers, winds out southwest at 5 miles per hour. we don't have to worry about a windchill. in terms of cloud cover, we have a sunny morning, from noon to 1:00 p.m. we'll see clouds welling up from the south. as we move through the rest of the afternoon up until 6:00 p.m. the clouds get thicker. there may be late in the afternoon showers pushing into south jersey and delaware trying to make a run at philadelphia. as we advance in the evening hours we might get rain to the north and cesily tynan will be on "action news" to show you what's going on with that. over the next 12 hours, it gelts milder, we're cold through 8:00 a.m. and low 30s.

by 10:00 a.m., 47. noon, 5. 3:00 p.m., that's the high, 62 nice for this time of the year and mostly cloudy skies. 5:00 p.m., 56 with sprinkles and showers building from the south. high temperatures across the region, similar, 61 in allentown and 60 in cape may. it will be on the mild side. overnight tonight, starting at midnight tonight you can see the rain showers continuing to push up from the south. it does look like we're in and out of the rain drops overnight straight into 5:00 a.m. in the morning. when we're on the air tomorrow we'll have something to show you on radar. by the end of rush hour most of the region on the wet side. early in the afternoon we expect the rain to push to the north, although it should stay failure cloudy behind the rain. the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast, 62 degrees, sun giving way to clouds and rain holding off until later only tonight for most of the area. tomorrow, rain to start and cooler tomorrow, 56.

christmas tree will arrive at philadelphia city hall. it will make its way up broad street to market street this morning. workers began building the base of the christmas tree last week.

carolina continue to spread this morning. firefighters are trying to protect homes near the largest blaze around lake lure. investigators are looking into whether it was set intentionally. a rare gem is hitting the market, just in time for the holiday for the super rich. a sky blue diamond could get up to $28 million. it is the largest known sky blue dollars. second alarmers association is celebrating with a party in northeast philadelphia. they provide hot beverages and food and other services to emergency personnel at fires and other disasters. holy family school in phoenixville is celebrating blue ribbon of excellence school of

live look, the view over center city. we're talking about the supermoon a lot this morning, we have not seen one in 48 years, you have 20, 25 minutes before it disappearance as the sun comes up. it is an unusually large moon closer than usual. step outside with your coffee and take a look at it. >> reporter: two sheriff's deputy in north carolina had to fight off a man who got a hold of their baton and started beating them. the confrontation happened on a highway in south carolina. >> the guy was combative reaching for weapons and everything else. we took necessary measures to make sure officers were safe. >> the suspect died at the hospital.

one officer deployed a taser no gunshots were fired. the cause of death is under investigation. officers are in fair condition with head injuries. leon russell has died. he passed away in his sleep in nashville. he suffered a heart attack postponing 28 concerts. he played backup for joe cocker and bob dylan and the beach boys. he was named to the hall of fame in 2011 and recorded 430 songs. >> semifinals started tonight in the "dancing with the stars." the first round couple must perform an unlearned dance routine. five celebrities remain, the increasingly stiff competition resumes tonight at 8:00 p.m. on 6abc. a big celebration was held for a beloved pastor in spring garden section.
