gunned down just past midnight monday morning. police are searching for the killer. it's tuesday night and the big story is an emotional vigil for a mured teen. dan has the story. >> jim, with the homicide investigation ongoing, family and friends were remembering the victim in west philadelphia. they say he just turned 17 less than a month ago. >> he was funny. he made everybody laugh. >> about a hundred people came and posted pictures and brought balloons. >> nobody thought he would be on a board with candles and balloons and all these people out here. >> it was just after monday when
he was gunned down on his way to visit his sister. police believe he was targeted for some reason. they fled in a white suv. his mother implored those responsible to turn themselves in. >> my son was a good boy. >> she and others say they have no idea who would have want today shoot him. >> his brother-in-law condemned the violence on the streets that never seems to end. >> we kill each other, put up tee shirts and start again. >> an 18-year-old was shot twice in the neck a couple of blocks from where barry was killed. the teen is in the hospital unknown if thee shooting is
related. a dozen balloons were released into the night sky. >> >> now jim, police questioned several people in connection with the killing but no railroads have been made. dan, "action news." >> thank you. police are on the hunt for two gunmen that opened fire in frankfort killing one man and wounding another. there were 13 shell casings along frankfurt avenue. the double shooting took place about 7:30. multiple swills cameras recorded it. a 35-year-old is in critical condition at the temple hospital. the other had no i.d. police are considering him a john doe. >> and a man is being treated
for serious injuries after a car wreck. >> we have learned that actor alan thicke has dined. he was 69 years old. he was best known for playing the dad on the '80s sitcom, growing pains. he was a musician and composed theme songs including the wheel of fortune, the facts of life and different strokes. there is no word on cause of death. he is survived by his wife and three sons. >> bil bill cosby will be back a courtroom tomorrow for a second day of pretrial hearings. the 79-year-old entertainer's lawyers are trying to block some of the accusers from taking the stand. the prosecutor wants the women
to testify to show a pattern of drugging and molesting young women. a shouting match for both attorneys got so testy the judge warned them he would call in sheriff's deputies if they couldn't behave. >> rex tillerson has run one of the biggest global companies in the world, the ceo of exxon has been named as donald trump's secretary of state. his appointment is voluntary col mostly because of his relationship with vladimir putin. rick perry once said he would eliminate the department of energy. >> montana congressman ryan is the president elect's choice to run the department of interior. >> kanye west dropped by for a
visit with donald trump. trump said the two have been friends for a long time and west is a good man. west said they discussed supporting teachers, modernizing curriculum and violence in chicago. >> allentown's budget is up in the air. city council unanimously overroad the mayor's budget veto. it took them 11 minutes to do that. pulaski walked out saying this violets the allentown charter. council cut a million dollars off of the mayor's proposal and reduced his proposalled wage tax increase. pulaski has the intention to
file a lawsuit and block the budget. an arctic blast is heading our way. the change will plunge us to the coldest temperatures since february. cecily tynan has the details. >> jim this past weekend was cold with temperatures stuck in the 30s. the core of the cold air is well up to the north and west. sault ste. marie, six degrees, international falls, two. cold air is not arriving tomorrow, 40-degrees by 1:00. the arctic boundary tomorrow night, behind it temperatures plunge thursday. that's essentially where they stay through the day by 3:30 in the afternoon, still in the low 20s. we are talking about winds

the city of camden. they announced a $13 million federal grant from the department of housing and urban development. it's a choice neighborhood, a program to revamp housing and amenities in distressed areas. >> the investing in parks and open spaces and the partnership with the city of camden to transform whitmore park with small business improvement as part of the transformation. > a new school and 300 mixed income units are also in the works. there is no timeline but it's expected to take five years. a bank band it is on the run after holding um the american branch in northern liberty. surveillance cameras captured him getting cash from the teller after handing over a demand note.
police consider him armed and dangerous and they are offering a reward for tips. the vandal seen graffitiing a grocery store with anti-trump rhetoric has been arrested. he has been charged in the vandalism black friday morning doing an estimated 3 to $10,000 damage. the other man accompanying him sipping wine is an attorney for the city of philadelphia. he was not fined but ordered to do community service. >> bob menendez is asking the city to intervene on his corruption charges. prosecutors allege he took official action on behalf of the campaign contributor. menendez claims the meetings in question were not favors to his
