4:30 a.m., friday, december 16 we're following breaking news. >> shots were fired at police officers in a philadelphia neighborhood this morning. we'll have a live report from the scene. happening now two philadelphia police officers are injured in a crash while on the job, of course we'll give you details on what happened and their injuries. >> this was the coldest december night in the region in 8 years. plus, another round of snow is on the way. >> i did not come to work in this, i had the heavy sweater and i was glad to have it, david murphy and karen rogers.
>> reporter: overnight 8 years, now is the coldest part of the day. as you step outside this morning, it's extremely uncomfortable. it's breezy, too. winter weather advisory kicks in at 10:00 p.m. we're looking at snow arriving. in most cases it will be after midnight tonight. it will continue to snow into the morning. we expect the advisory to be lifted gradually from the south to the center of the region. it could be done down by the shore by 9:00 a.m., you could get a change over to rain south to north. in the northern suburbs about 2:00. in the poconos you may be stuck with the advisory into tomorrow evening. you get the idea, snow overnight, it changes over to rain tomorrow morning. there could be a transition of sleet. that could be of a concern.
we have a lack of cloud coffer, they may dig in as the day goes on. here the lovely temperatures, 16 degrees this is the thermometer. 14 in reading, 15 in allentown. 17 in millville. winds will die down during the day, right now they are a factor, and it feels like zero as you step outside in the city. the best windchills are 5 and 6 and to the points east and down south. 15 degrees by 7:00 a.m. 21 by 2:00. 25 by 3:00 p.m. the high 28 degrees we'll hit that around 10:00 p.m. temperatures cold all the way. wind dieing down, but a gradual rise in temperatures through the day getting in the upper 20s. karen we'll have more on the snow coming in and future tracker 6 coming up. >> reporter: dave is talking about snow, but not for the morning commute.

philadelphia police, "action news" annie mccormick is live on the scene in feltonville and where things stand now, good morning, annie. >> reporter: good morning, tamala, police just cleared the scene, one of the suspects did fire a shot at philadelphia police officers, none of the officers were hit and the suspects were taken into custody. get a look at this video of the three suspects taken into custody, "action news" was there when it happened. 17, 18 and 19-year-old police were on the scene then found the loaded gun and spent shell casing in the area. at least one of the suspects fired at police while they ran away in an alley near rising sun and the boulevard. let's take you back to where this all started at 1:30, police say those three used a gun to rob a 21-year-old man taking his wallet and cash. they took off in a pick up, they
took off. police arrived to the area at front and rockland and saw them by rising sun and the boulevard. >> officers went into the alley and chased the suspects on foot. one suspect fired a shot at the police. all three police were in full uniform operating in marked car, so there was no mistaking who they were. one of the suspects fired a shot at the police, police showed restraint and did not return fire. >> reporter: the suspects were taken to east detectives where the victim from the armed robbery earlier that started all this was able to give a positive idea. they will face charge including armed robbery and aggravated assault against a police officer. reporting live in the northeast, annie mccormick channel 6 "action news" back to you. >> more breaking news, two police recovering from an overnight
collision in south philadelphia at broad and snyder. one officer suffered a head injury and one an injured leg. the occupants of the other car are being treat the for minor injuries. 55-year-old bucks county woman is charged with driving under the influence after she drove boo a neighbor's house and into her own. it happened in the unit block of indian run road. the woman put the suv in reverse and drove it through the front window of her neighbor's home. she kicked it into drive and crashed into her own home. nobody was injured. cold conditions made it difficult for firefighters to control a blaze in burlington county, new jersey. "action news" viewer recorded the scene inboard don town. the -- bordentown. it took more than an hour to bring the blaze under control. nobody was reported hurt.
another fire destroyed a berks county home and seriously injured one person. this happened on the 100 block of killian drive. the flames engulfed the entire home. firefighters evacuated the charred home for fear it could collapse. a woman who lived in the home was taken to an area hospital with serious burns. an unlikely traffic concern on the betsy ross bridge have the motorists taking a double look. two dogs wandered on the bridge. one dog was taken to a cheryl, the second dog, a jeer man shepherd ran away. >> obama administration suggested that russia's hacking helped donald trump's campaign.
believing that putin signed off in on the hacking. president obama said putin and russia could expect retaliation. >> i think there's no doubt that when any foreign government tries to impact the integrity of our elections that we need to take action. >> trump himself denies that he had any knowledge of the hacking. the president did not offer any proof of the accusation. a temple university student's apartment is broken into and police are trying to track down who did this. the suspect was armed with a gun when he broke in and stole a female student's belongings including an iphone and lab top. the student woke up to discover him in the room. the student was not injured. dozens of people use

get past about maybe, 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, the lehigh valley and the poconos start to improve, as well. that icing could go onioned the change -- could go beyond the change to rain. in i-95 area a brief sleet and rain change probably in the early morning hours as you just saw and down in delaware, new jersey, you have basically rain at dawn. we have a coating to an inch in philadelphia. 1 to 3 in allentown the poconos will get thumped, we don't have anything down south. sunday is milder, no snow, but we'll have rain around for a good portion of the day. the seven day from accuweather. today's high, 28 not until tonight. on the way we'll go from the teens to the upper 20s.

on this friday morning, the action cam is live at the scene of a fire in southwest philadelphia. this broke out just about 30 minutes ago. so, you see fire crews on the scene. we'll tell you where it is, the 1200 block of south millic street in southwest philadelphia. they had heard someone was trapped in the building. that has not been confirmed. one person was injured in the fire, you see smoke coming from the structure right now. fire crews remain at the scene.
