including reading beginning to pick up some of this, as well. we have a changeover to rain that's pushing up toward the pennsylvania border, it will continue to push north and into philadelphia, the northern suburbs will change over to rain, eventually. in allentown and northern berks it will be longer, you may be looking at the snow through 9:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m. before a changeover. up in time poconos it stays as snow, perhaps a little sleet. there's a winter weather advisory in jim thorpe and mount pocono and pottstown, those are the areas where roads could be extra slippery in the morning hours and in the afternoon. temperatures have bumped up above freezing in philadelphia. 28 in allentown, though, 32 in reading. these the spots where it will take longer to see the changeover.
31 in millville that number is on its way up. noon, 45 degrees, raining, the rain tapering off by 2:00 p.m. 3:00 p.m. you're drying out, still cloudy, and we're looking at a high of 46 degrees at 3:00 p.m. before we slide to 43 by 5:00 p.m., and 40 by 7:00 p.m. i'll have the arrival and departure of the rain/snow event on future tracker 6. >> reporter: speaking of brakes we're on them this morning. because of an accident in maple shade burlington county. action cam is on the scene, route 73. it's the southbound direction that is shut down. northbound is reopened, but southbound is blocked. a tractor-trailer came along and hit a pole and took down wires. wires are across the road. you can see the utility crews on the scene trying to make repairs. 73 southbound is blocked starting at route 90 coming away from the tacony-palmyra and the betsy ross bridges done through
the scene at high street. they are sweeping up the debris and fixing the wires. 73 southbound shut down, as we come back out here, stay on church street or nolola road. vine street expressway reopened after overnight instruction, crews return tonight at 11:00 p.m. i-95, vehicle cleared out. overturned vehicle accident in havertown this morning at colonial and glendale, luckily that is cleared out of the way on this thursday. breaking news just in a nasty rollover crash that injured two people in delaware county. the driver of the suv lost control of the colonial road near glendale road. that vehicle rolled down an embankment and wrapped around a
tree and landed on the roofment the driver and the passenger suffered multiple injuries, they are in the hospital in stable condition. and developing overnight, a new jersey woman and her great granddaughter have been found safe they disappeared christmas eve. there's lots of questions why they headed off the main road into the rural woods. annie mccormick is in our satellite center with more information. >> reporter: a lot of questions about what happened, at this point, authorities say they don't believe any foul play was involved. they think the two got lost and may have had car problems, they found them before 5:00 p.m. yesterday evening. a happy ending to a terrifying search for family and friends of barbara briley and her great
granddaughter they have been missing since christmas eve. medics choppered the elderly briley to a nearby hospital. the two embarked on their miss mass journey on christmas eve to north carolina. the last sighting was by a gas station clerk in virginia. they released the video hoping to find the pair. during the search, "action news" expoak to family members -- spoke to family members including her son who went looking for him the family members said they were perplexed she had no known million -- medical conditions. >> if she is going to do something, because she is very smart. >> found with the vehicle they left in, it looked like the two were eating and drinking. authorities are baffled how they ended up in this excluded spot, but they are thankleful for
theman who found them. >> he took a path that goes further back in the woods and that's when they came across the vehicle. >> reporter: they are crediting the passer by with discovering the two. the little girl was evaluated by medical personnel and released to family. the great grandmother is in serious condition reporting live from the satellite center, annie mccormick channel 6 "action news." >> that's a relief they were found. thank you. developing now, philadelphia police are trying to figure out what happened to a woman who was rushed to the hospital by temple university police. officers say the victim initially claimed she was shot twice during a robbery attempt around 1:00 a.m. police say the story keep changing and officers can't find the crime scene. the woman is not a student at temple. she is currently in stable condition. new this morning, a collision in kensington injured both drivers and one is under arrest. philadelphia police say a
speeding car t-bonedded a pick up -- t-boned a pickup truck. the driver in custody is being tested for driving under the influence. a man was gunned down in front of a philadelphia restaurant during the dinner rush. chopper 6 hd was over the 26th street in tioga nicetown. the man was shot in the head and back and killed. they have not released his name or a motive. 5:37 the death of actress carrie fisher is sinking in and hollywood is mourning the death of her mother debby reynolds from her iconic performance in singing in the rain and to her wise cracking on will and grace. now reynolds gathered with family yesterday to grieve the
loss of carrie fisher her daughter with iconic singer eddie fisher when she was rushed to the hospital. todd fisher tells abc news, the only good thing is that my mom wanted to be with my sister. debby reynolds was 84 years old. a powerful nor'easter is moving into northern new england. residents are preparing for upward of a foot of snow. residents put chains on their tires and gassed up vehicles. they are asking people to stay off the roads during the storm to make cleanup easier. power companies are staffing additional crews saying outages could happen overnight tonight into tomorrow. >> a little wintry mix here, too. >> reporter: blizzard conditions up there, not so bad here. we're looking at light snow pushing into areas west of philadelphia. looks like it will be all rain in philadelphia as that change to rain line is starting to move north and it looks like it will change over to rain before that
snow manages to get into philadelphia. wilmington, maybe a little bit of light snow right at the out set. you can see thou this is moving in quicklily, we'll see this -- quickly, we'll see this before too much longer. honeybrook and western chester county getting this. the purpose indicates where the snow is heavier. i wouldn't be surprised if there's sleet moving in, too. coatsville, also starting to get the light snow, downingtown before too much longer, exton will pick it up. west chester another 15 minutes or so, mushroom country there starting to pick up snowflakes. there's the change over to rain that's on the way north. i'll leave you with the wide view that's what we're looking at right now all that stuff moving toward the east and the north. as we look outside, we have sky6 live hd there's center city, our
city hall camera dilworth park and the christmas tree across the region -- christmas tree in center city. sorry i got confused by something. there's the storm on storm tracker 6 live 6 you're seeing reading allentown is getting close to picking up a little bit of that, as well. the temperature currently, 33 degrees. the winds out of the east at 450 miles per hour. they will be picking up as the day goes on. future tracker 6 showing the progression of this, looks like by 7:00 p.m. we'll be under the rain drops in philadelphia with the change to rain pushing farther north, northern bucks and montgomery county, lehigh valley and berks county looking at snow. after 10:00 or so, we'll see the rain change over through allentown, notice how it stays snow in the poconos. by 2:00 p.m., the rain is over.
what are we expecting on the ground? obviously most of us get rain. nothing in philadelphia. up in easton, a coating to an inch, be careful with the slushiness on the road. up in the poconos, 1 to 3 inches, some spots going to 4. 36 degrees, above freezing all rain in the city. 43 by 10:00 a.m., still raining, noon, 45 still raining. 46 by 3:00 p.m. under mainly cloudy skies and perhaps breaks by 6:00 p.m. dipping to 41. the high temperatures notice how everybody winds up well above freezing, if you see the snow, take it easy, you will see the rise in temperatures melting it away. 43 degrees in allentown. up close to 50 in millville and cape may. tonight and tomorrow we have an area of low pressure kicking in producing the snow that they are looking for up in new england. the effect tonight and tomorrow here will be basically wind. it will be windy, winds gusting
as high as 40 miles per hour. windchills and the teens and 20s a blizzard in new england not so much here, we'll get a snow shower popping through, the model will be in the poconos and the lehigh valley. the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast, today's high, 46 degrees, rain and snow early, drying in the afternoon. tomorrow, blustery, a spotty snow shower, 39 feeling uncomfortable. saturday, new year's, sun and clouds, not bad, 41 degrees for the high, i think when we are ringing in the new year, 40 degrees. new year's day, a mix of clouds and sun, 50. the mummers will start marching in about 40-degree weather and getting up to 50 in the afternoon. if we get rain it will be not until later at night. eagles game looks good. mild on monday and tuesday with occasional rain. >> thank you, david. >> 5:42, still ahead on "action news," the obama administration could announce today how it will punish russia for the alleged

group. northbound has reopened, if you're heading southbound stick to local alternates, church street or church road, or route 38 would be an option. 73 southbound blocked off in maple shade this morning. in december county, this is the new jersey turnpike heading toward the delaware memorial bridge, in piles grove township southbound between exit 2 and 1 there's a crash. it's off to the side. the lanes are open, but if you're heading southbound toward the bridge you see the flashing lights on the side that is an accident location there. meanwhile, in new hanover it happen, a new accident, big road near short road, they don't seem to go together. the crash is by boyertown east junior high school. you see a nice shade of blue on the map. it's a nice color, that means not so nice things, the frozen precipitation is falling in northern montgomery county. we saw an accident early this morning at swamp pike luckily
