like this morning? >> reporter: other than a few icy patches, volume is nice and light that's the case schuylkill expressway headlights coming into gulph mills no problems so far. we've had three separate disabled vehicles along 202. first one northbound between 29 and chester brook is off to the side. we have reports of a broken down vehicle on the ramp from 422 eastbound to 202 northbound are same deal off to the side, you can get by it. in norristown, 202 markley street north of main, a broken down vehicle did block both lanes, but they got that pushed out of the way. everything is reopened, the police activity is gone. no complaints along the blue route 476 or the boulevard or i-95. of course, just off i-95 in queen village, one southbound lane on columbus boulevard. they hope to have all three back and repaired later today in

advance of the new year's eve festivities in penns landing. not too far away from the penns landing the vine street expressway, overnight construction long gone from the vine. everything is open and ready between i-95 and the schuylkill expressway. overnight work crews don't come back and shut it down again until tuesday night. you're good to go for a while on 676. >> thank you, matt. new this morning, a gunman opened fire on a minivan injuring the man and woman inside. the action cam was in the hunting park section as investigators examined the vehicle. a 24-year-old man was hit in the leg, and 22-year-old woman was hit in the back. they are in stable condition. it's not clear if the two were the intended targets or why the shooting started. friends and family are praying for a great grandmother who is in the hospital following a frantic five day search. >> thank you

>> reporter: action cam was at the second bap -- baptist turn in atlantic city. the grandmother and great granddaughter lester mays landing on christmas eve and never made it. a man walking in the woods found them in the suv. >> she's here, they are alive, just a blessing. >> the granddaughter was reunited with her family, but barbara is hospitalized in serious condition. two suspects are in custody for the armed robbery of a bank in a residential bucks county neighborhood. chopper 6 hd was over the bank on buck road in lower southampton township. it is not known how much the pair got away with before they were caught. several peeping incidents

in south jersey are on alert. investigators released surveillance video of a man looking into the windows in glass bow -- glassboro on wednesday. anyone with information reach out to police. in business news, this morning a problem with a popular minivan leads to a recall. we go live to the nasdaq this friday morning. hey, erin. honda has issued a recall of 600,000 minivans reporting a defect in the second row seats of the honda odyssey. the defect involves a release lever that may cause the seats to move unexpectedly. stock market closed with slight losses right now futures point to a higher open. we have a full lineup ever economic reports due out next

doesn't look too bad. up in the poconos and the lehigh valley there's a chance of a flurry or snow shower coming in, we'll have strong west winds drawing lake-effect snow all the way across pennsylvania looks like it is tracking mainly to areas to the north. later this evening, that will become less of an issue as the winds die down. lehigh valley, wind and flurry maybe snow shower. 39 is the high, windchills in the 20s most of the day. down the shore we'll get up to 44 degrees, but it will be blustery and windy at the shore, so grab those jackets and keep them handy today. in philadelphia, high of 41 degrees, sun and clouds, windy and chilly today, winds gusting out of the west at 30 to 40 miles per hour it's going to be a day if you're driving around in a high profile vehicle or minivan over an overpass, hold on to the wheel as the gusts surges crossing that

of course, the city's christmas tree and the rothman rink picked up later today most people have the day off. >> reporter: i like on this morning of the year take a drive down memory lane and talk about the things impacting us on the roads in the last year. 2016 was a big one for philadelphia. we saw the dnc, democratic national convention come to town, that impacted us a lot along i-95 especially. we're live i-95 broad street by the wells fargo center, we saw the restrictions the weight restrictions and the checkpoints leading to the closure of lanes it caused big delays. this morning, no delays along i-95 looking good in south philadelphia. really across the board on the big picture there are no delays anywhere on i-95, the schuylkill expressway or the roosevelt boulevard. keep in mind on columbus boulevard, still just one southbound lane open in queen

village because of the water main break from last week. they will continue to work on that today and hopefully by the end of the day we'll have three lanes back in business. route 1 the super highway close to oxford valley road. it was 2015 when the truck struck the overpass at oxford valley road. the repairs continue in 2016 and next year after the new year. without for restrictions oxford valley road route 1 the center highway. we had changes on the pennsylvania turnpike, the new in neshaminy toll plaza. connector bridge you don't pay by cash it's e-z pass charged. st. joe's we'll have midday construction from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

his sentencing phase is set to begin. he is going to defend himself. a 40-year-old texas mother and her two young daughters ages 9 abbey 12 fell 20 feet from a four person share lift. the woman died and both daughters were taken to the area hospitals. state regulators who oversee chair lifts are helping with the investigation. 6-year-old california girl's reunion was caught on camera. there she is with her relieved mother. the two embraced in a hug after police found the little girl. the mother said she was inside a laundromat when someone jumped into the lexus and took off with the daughter inside the vehicle. the suspect let the girl out of the car, but the search continues this morning for the suspect and the vehicle.

wilmington, trenton and numbers across the region. but we have a wind that's starting to build in the teens in spots. that's making it feel like the mid 20s across the region. some of you lucky folks have upper 20 windchills. bottom line, windy and chilly. accuweather says we'll be up to 41 around 1:30 p.m., 2:00 p.m., and back to 40 by 3:00 p.m. by 5:00 p.m., 37 degrees and all the way down to 35 by 7:00 p.m. the wind will be gusting 30 to 40 miles per hour through the afternoon already starting to get more noticeable on the terrace. windchills will make it feel like the 20s all day long i should say. things improve for the weekend, the temperatures come up a little bit the winds die down. matt pellman i'll take a look at all of that, as we folk -- focus on the holiday weekend coming

up. what are the roads doing this morning. >> reporter: any puddles from yesterday are freezing be up. new castle county, the ramble from i-95 northbound to 202 thes with slippering. two accidents on that ramp in new castle county this morning. i-95 in philadelphia looks fine, speeds in the mid 50s, just off i-95 in queen village one lane on columbus boulevard southbound. they are hoping by the end of today to have three lanes back in business there. live look at the schuylkill expressway close to montgomery drive, it's dry here, no delays, i expect volume to be relatively light this morning, if you're crossing the river so far so good, all the bridges looking

good. creek road no delays, open unlike last evening. marie buck was a beloved fixture in south philadelphia there for decades at the grocery store, so the community is gripped with shock and anger. marie buck was gunned down on christmas eve, an unsended target. annie mccormick is outside the funeral home on south broad street as police tell us about the murder and the suspect they have under arrest good morning. >> reporter: good morning, tamala, the cap of homicide said -- captain of the homicide unit said they worked nonstop through the holiday weekend to identify the suspect by looking at surveillance video and a number of tips. they made an arrest hours before the first viewing was held for marie buck. a huge outpouring for support in cold temperatures as mourners

waited outside the funeral home on south broad before james clark made the announcement, maurice green was arrested and charged after he shot 81-year-old marine buck 11 times inside the good corner store. it is believe that green believed her grandson stole a 5,000-dollar gold chain from him. >> we think he went there with the intention of shooting the grandson. he saw the grandmother and he made the choice to kill the grandmother since he was not there. >> reporter: police think green and buck's grandson knew each other from the drug trade. buck's generosity was felt by so many who grew up by the corner store. some believe if the shooter had talked to her she could have stopped him. >> there's a sense of relief. >> there's a sense of tragedy if he went inside and said this is the deal, she would have gave

street. the male driver ran from the scene. the female passenger grabbed the child in the car seat and attempted to chase down the man. the police caught up with her a short time later, the good news, the child was not hurt. this is coming in, russia's from him -- foreign minister is recommending that the american diplomats be expelleed from russia. the fbi kicked out russian diplomats accused of being intelligence operatives. two of the individuals are on the fbi wanted list, as well. lawmakers on both side of aisle applauded the move. >> this is sending a message we will not be pushed around by a county that's a gas can in europe with the economy roughly the size of italy. >> president-elect trump did not trumpet the move and said

see early sunshine coming up over the horizon. sky6 live hd is going to show us it's not there yet. the camera bouncing a little bit as we look south along the water in atlantic city. there is a wind that's now beginning to pick up a little bit. 35 degrees currently in philadelphia. the winds have bounced up to 14 miles per hour. later in the day we'll see them get blustery. gusts up to 30 tow 40 miles pero 40 miles per hour. with the winds picking up the windchills will feel like the low to mid 20s in spots. up in the poconos or the lehigh valley there's a chance of flurries and maybe a passing snow shower. this is lake-effect snow that's going to be coming across pennsylvania from the great lakes. looks like it's mainly tracking up to the north today. it will fall a part later in the evening as the winds die down. the big story today is the temperature and wind profile. 34 degrees by 8:00 a.m. 37 by 10:00 a.m.

40 by noon, high of 41 right in there around 1:30 p.m. or 2:00 p.m. 6:00 p.m., 36 degrees. with the strong winds it will feel like the 20s most of the day. high temperatures across the region, a little cooler up north, 39 in allentown, 40 in reading, a little bit better as you get toward wilmington and millville. 43 there and 42 in cape may. the weekend is looking good. saturday not as windy, breezy for new year's eve. looks like sun and clouds, high of 43 degrees which is a couple of degrees above average. midnight we'll cover that in a second that looks good. new year's day up to 50, beautiful new year's day for you. going to the fireworks, looks like 42 by 4:00 p.m. we might slip into the upper 30s by 6:00 p.m. this is a weird night where we get a southerly flow and temperatures will rise a bit, it's one of the few nights of the year that benefits. as 12:00 p.m. rolls we'll have

people at penns landing for the fireworks show. there are a lot of midnights on new year's eve it's a lot colder than that. for the mummers 43 at 9:00 a.m. i've had some mummers forecast where that was the high. 45 when things wrap up. that's coming down from a high of 50. tomorrow, sun and clouds, 43. nice at midnight. partly sunny and nice on sunday, high of 50 degrees on new new ys day, a great way to ring in 2017. after the weekend, we get a damp pattern moving in with periods of rain and drizzle, we get up to 60 for the high on tuesday, the pay back is wednesday we get up close to 60 with the high of 67 it will be dry. >> love it.

you might see fireworks as the weekend goes on. 6:44 a.m., let's go over to matt pellman take a look at traffic. >> reporter: i like to remind people when you start to see the firing driving along in your car keep watching the roads, not eyes in the skies, every year we have accidents. only one accident on the big board so far this morning, it's in delaware, it's two separate accidents in one spot. on the ramp i-95 northbound to 202 concord pike we have icy conditions leading to a pair of accidents that are blocking the off ramp from time to time. the speeds don't look too bad. we're reflecting on the year that was, 2016. one of our best bits of traffic news came last week it was here on another chunk of i-95 in northeast philadelphia where we got the 4th lane open in each direction at cottman avenue. ever since we've seen no delays,

they have worked four years to make the lanes, it is paying off. southbound by girard, the work continues as the work on the vine expressway. we have two more years of this project. they made progress by relacing the bridges over the vine. 2018 is the end date on the vine project. we had three separate disabled vehicles so far on 2020 they have cleared out of the -- 202, they have cleared out of the way. it's been a great year for 202 in exton they got the lanes open. no delays from the 30 bypass. valley forge national park along 252, we have end the year better than we spent much of it. >> texas police are searching for a person who stole a tractor and used that to steal an atm. the tractor was taken from a

getting a lot of attention for how he handled a pot smoking teen. the officer was off duty outside a movie theater in arlington virginia when he was alerted to the fact a man was smoking marijuana near the entrance. >> he said he he was smoking marijuana. i meanted to teach him a less -- i wanted to teach him a lesson use it a learning tool. i told him he could go to jail or give me 200 pushups. >> he told the officer he learned his lesson. now, get this, the teen's mom said the officer let him off easy, she would have made him do 1,000 pushups.
