morning. we expected this to be a southern part of the region event. that's the way it's worked out. snow is falling in south jersey and delaware, up here not seeing a flurry, the bulk of the action is in atlantic county, cape may county and cumberland county. you want to slow it down down here. fairly light snow, overall. it should be over fairly quickly. a winter weather advisory is in effect until noon be but the bulk of the snow is off the coast until 10 or 11:00 a.m., we'll see if it continues to fall until noon. take it slow on the roads. 34 degrees in philadelphia. no snow, 32 in wilmington, you've got snow nearby down to the south, looks like you might miss out. we are on or about the freezing mark in dover, millville, airport in atlantic city where we're seeing the snow, cape may
was falling below the freezing mark. we could have freezeups on the roads in cape may county, as well. winds have picked up in philadelphia, overall fairly light. we expect it to get more windy and brisk as the day goes on. 7:00 a.m., snow in southern portions of the region. noon, the snow is over, sun coming bark, 36 degrees. we -- coming back, 36 degrees, we stay cool, brisk and chilly with the winds, gusts up to 20s at times. 35 degrees by 5:00 p.m. 7:00 p.m., we are back to the freezing mark. a little bit more precipitation possible at times tomorrow. i'll have that on future tracker 6. for now, what are roads looking like? >> reporter: they are looking fine, we can see the snow coming down. do you see this in the shot, upper township, cape may county, the garden state parkway, cape
may toll plaza. in south jersey, light snow is falling. as you look at the shot, it's not sticking to the highway itself. we've seen shots where it's sticking to the sides of the road, the meade -- median, they have implemented a 45-mile an hour speed limit on the parkway. this is 42 at creek road. we see crews moving southward heading toward the snowfall. no big problems on 42. here's a different shot, route 47 at route 30. we can see it on the median and the sides of the road. looks like you may have gotten a dusting on the road 47, route 40 malaga, new jersey. no problems now on black rock
road. no snow in the philadelphia area, you have to go to south jersey and delaware for that, tam. >> thank you karen. "action news" reporter, annie mccormick is continuing our team coverage live on the black horse pike in blackwood, new jersey, we've been checking in with you every half-hour, annie, how is it looking now? >> reporter: at this point no precipitation, but they are prepared. take a look behind me, you can see the sheen on the roadway. most of the roads were pretreated with brine. take a look at the video, you will see flurries, you heard karen talking about the flurries that were seen in the traffic camera in cape may, county. this is video from overnight. camden county saying they have 100 pieces of equipment prepped and ready to go this morning. camden covering over 1,000 miles they have to take care of in
their county alone. they are making sure their trucks are loaded with salt. they have the plows on the front of the truck, as well. we have video, this doesn't have snow, this is from last night, galloway township atlantic county where they are getting prepared. they are just concerned about the morning commute, they want to make sure that's going to move smoothly, hoping to put down salt to have that traction in case there's that prezip sayings that does come down. of course there will be speed restrictions in a number of areas across south jersey in the morning if they are starting to see even just a little bit of precipitation of course even just a little bit of flurries in some ports this morning. we've seen a plow trucks, people who landscape in the summer hope to make extra money in winter where they can plow parking
lots. it's been to mild they have not been able to get the extra cash, we talked to some people this morning hoping they get snow heading their way here in south jersey. reporting live in blackwood, new jersey, annie mccormick channel 6 "action news," back to you. >> let's take a live look at mobile 6 traveling in ventnor, new jersey, a little blurry, but you can see the stoplights there, the shorepoints are seeing flurry activity. cape may, new jersey, just hit the freezing mark. if you don't see any snow, you will soon along the shorepoints and south jersey and delaware. breaking overnight, the owner of a chinese takeout was not easy prey for two robbers in west philadelphia. two masked men walked into a restaurant and announced a robbery. two owners were inside at the time, one owner pulled out a gun and shot a suspect in the back.
police believe the second suspect drove his accomplice to the hospital. both are in custody. investigators say the suspects were as inept as they were unlucky. they attempted to cut surveillance wires to a camera and ended up cutting the wrong wires. >> the in-store surveillance cameras, the one in the backyard was still functioning and did record the robbery. >> the two owners were physically hurt. breaking overnight, a deadly shooting at a mosque in quebec city. 6 people killed and 8 others injured. two suspects are in custody. prime minister justin threw -- trudeau called the shooting a terror attack on muslims. 50 people were inside for prears when prears -- prayers when the shooting began. people around the country continue to demonstrate their
opposition to president trump's executive order restrictingism restrictingism -- restricting immigrants from seven countries. protesters at terminal a one waim came out to fight for what she said was the america that welcomed here nearly 40 years ago. >> i'm so blessed to be an american, we should be proud and never let anything divide us. >> police say the demonstrations were largely peaceful they did not have to make arrests. >> pennsylvania governor tom wolf met with the family from allentown whose loved ones were detained at philadelphia international over the weekend. they are forced to return to war-torn syria. they were detained on saturday when immigration officials did not accept their visas.
>> we always lived by the rule all our lives, i'm saddened and heart bron balls they had to be sent back to the war zone. >> immigration stoners are trying to help -- immigration attorneys are trying to help the family to figure out what to do next. >> we have snow coming into southern parts of the area, what can you tell us? >> reporter: main roads that have been treated are doing well with this. storm tracker 6 live double scan shows there's snow out there, mainly south of philadelphia. as we take the overhead view you can see the heart of it is coming through the center of south jersey, northern atlantic county picking up bright white and lavender, that's an indication of steadier snow. some of the bright white extends back north of dover, delaware, cape may seeing changeover from rain. we have seen the temperatures drop at the airport in cape may, down to 31 degrees, look out for icing and slippery stuff down there, as well.
main roads holding up well in the snow, some of the sidewalks and secondaries could be giving you problems, i-95 corridor philadelphia to wilmington not seeing the snow so far. as we take a look outside, we have a cloudy sky, dry conditions in center city. a little bit on the chilly side, so you will want the winter coat. no problems with the morning commute in and around philadelphia. 34 degrees in the city. winds out of the north at 10 miles per hour. that's one of the stronger winds we have right now. later today we'll see the winds pick up. in terms of the snow looks like it will stay south, south jersey and delaware, and wilmington. by 7:00 a.m. we'll be looking at snow in the southern half of delaware and south jersey. and then we see that it pulls out fairly quickly. i think the bulk of this is done by 10:00 a.m., maybe 11:00 a.m. by the jersey shore. by noon we'll see sun coming back. later in the afternoon we'll see
a quick passing snow shower. no impact on the ground from that stuff. looks like some areas around millville, dover, atlantic city could pick up a couple of inches out of this. could go up to 3 inches. this coating to two, depends on whether or not a burst of snow makes it up to the i-95 corridor and right now that's not looking like likely. there's the possibility of snow showers near the i-95 corridor. that may or may not happen. better channels -- chance in south jersey and delaware. looks like it's over between 9:00 a.m. up to maybe 11:00 a.m. toward the east. temperatures are going to be chilly all the way today. 31 degrees by 8:00 a.m. 33 by 10:00 a.m. snow is over quickly of course. noon, 36 with sun coming back. 39 is the high at 3:00 p.m. high temperatures across the region all getting up to the mid to upper 30s, breezes picking
up tomorrow morning there's the possibility after 6:00 of light snow passing through. better chance of precipitation is tomorrow afternoon. by then it will be rain across the region with snow showers possible up north. all that getting out of here in the evening. the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast, today's high, 39 morning snow ending relatively quickly and sun coming back later. tomorrow, afternoon rain and snow shower activity, 42 is the high, 46 by wednesday, breezy and milder. thursday, lots of sun for phil on groundhog day, 38 is the high. back in the 30s on saturday and sunday, back to 39. >> feeling like winter. >> the annual broad street run is months away, but find out when to sign up for the lottery happening this week. terrifying moments when a pilot had to jump out of plane.

we're right at the freezing mark in wilmington, delaware, 32 degrees, not seeing snow in wilmington, just yet, but there are other parts of delaware further south. they are getting it along with parts of south jersey. >> let's head over to karen rogers she has the full picture when it comes to traffic. >> we're checking the delaware memorial bridge as we look live. you can see the main roads looking fine at this point. we've been watching for a few of the light snow flurries they are sticking to the grassy surfaces, not the main highway. very clear right now with traffic moving just fine over the delaware memorial bridge. as we switch the camera you can see the light snow showers falling here. this is the garden state parkway here, the cape may toll plaza. the highway is looking good, we can see it sticking to the grassy surfaces and the sides of the road. moving fine on the garden state parkway. they have implemented 45-mile an hour speed restrictions on the
parkway. they have salting crews out there, they want you to take your time on the parkway right now. we are dry and clear, no snowfall in the i-95 corridor, we can see the vine moving just fine, there was no overnight construction. we have crews on the turnpike westbound near fort washington blocking a lane. storm tracker 6 live double scan, as we go in closer, you can see it's in south jersey and delaware, we're getting the snow. smyrna, dover, route 49 near millville, 40 near mays landing. on the garden state parkway, brighter pink heading toward the parkway. i-95 corridor still dry. >> pilot narrowly escaped his plane moments before it burps into flames. donald byrd took off from georgetown yesterday afternoon when the cockpit filled with smoke. he headed back to the airport and jumped out of the plane once it landed.
