in delaware county who lost control and crashed into a gas pump. >> the boy scouts are changing whom they are allowing into their troops. hear from the new jersey boy who inspired the decision. >> also, you may soon be allowed inside to get a look at grace kelly's childhood home in the city's east falls section. a lot of people you pass it and you wonder what does it look like on the inside. you may find out. >> second morning in a row where we're talk about snow showers. let's turn to david and karen. good morning. >> most of these are to the west and south of philadelphia. take a look on the storm tracker6 live double scan we've got some snow showers along the delaware bay creeping into parts of salem cumberland and cape may counties. these appear to be diminishing a little bit in intensity over the last half hour. if you have it, slow it down because we're below freezing across most of the region. there's a bit of extra snow shower activity up by harrisburg and lancaster. whether or not this makes it into our neck of the woods i can't be certain because it also appears to be falling apart but the idea is out there that if you get caught in some of that this morning
you slow it down just like you diddest if you got caught in one of those snow squalls. there's additional snow out to the west. looks like that will track into our northern suburbs and change over to rain in parts of our northern areas later this afternoon. if you're up in the lehigh valley some light accumulating snow is that possible later today. 27 degrees in philadelphia currently so get that that winter coat ready. 27 degrees in wilmington, just 22 right now in allentown and both 25 in reading and trenton. not a lot of wind this morning but it is cold and as we go through the day, things do improve a bit. 28 degrees by 7 o'clock a few snow showers here and there. by seven. and by noon 39 degrees with sun poking out behind the clouds. 42 trees is your high today at 3 o'clock. so we do improve a little bit with that high and then it's back to 38 by 5 o'clock and by 7 o'clock 37. again a couple of sprinkles can't light showers are possible this afternoon especially north of philadelphia. the farther north you go it could be snow and a coating to an inch is possible up near the lehigh valley. maybe a little more in the poconos. we have an improving forecast
for tomorrow and i'll have details on that coming up in the seven day. karen, what do roads look like early. >> we see a little bit of leftover snow from the snow squall yesterday. my kids were hoping that snow squall would never end but it did pretty quickly but you can see we still have a little bit of snow near spots. this is the montgomery bucks county border here county line road at stump road and a little bit slick as you're traveling. you can see tire marks driving through some of little bit of leftover snow but no main problem on the roosevelt boulevard the big picture blue route, schuylkill, i-95, mostly moving in the 40's and 50's so you're doing all right. let's check the vine street expressway. we had construction shutting it down overnight and you can see it is cleared. all the ramps from reopened everything is moving fine right now on the vine. this is a live look at route 23 over 422. you can see the crews out here. we still have restrictions on route 23 but the restrictions on 422 have cleared so that's wide open and looking a lot better there. let's hop into new jersey. this is millville cumberland county route 55 at 49 we were showing you this shot yesterday. you see a little bit of the snow on the median there and
the sides of the roads but not on the main roadway itself so 55 itself is moving okay but we do want to expect some snow later this morning. matt and tam. >> thank you, karen. well, political drama continues in washington. a top official is out of a job after she refuses to support president donald trump's executive order on immigration. >> the president fired acting u.s. attorney general sally yates last night. the obama administration holdover had told justice department lawyers to not defend trump's controversial executive order on immigration and refugees. she said she wasn't sure it was even legal. u.s. attorney dana boente of virginia is now acting attorney general and has already directed the justice department to defend trump's executive order. >> and president trump is expected to announce his pick for the supreme court tonight. he'll do it at 8:00 in the

peco is still trying to figure out what caused it. >> snow showers to the south. >> yeah, that's what we've got a couple of them out to the west too. storm tracker6 live double scan, this is not as intense snowfall as what we had yesterday but if we go into that two dimensional view you can see there are snow showers pushing to the east and covering most of cumberland county, a little bit of salem county and cape may county kind of in and out of this stuff as well. also areas just to the west of dover picking up a snow shower. all of this is moving more or less to the east. that stuff out to the west by harrisburg and lancaster is really thinning out. i'm not sure it's going have much of an impact but right now southern chester county you've got a little bit of that if you see that. slow it down because we have temperatures below freezing this morning. we're looking at dry conditions in center city philadelphia. cold enough for winter coats, though, and some of that extra gear. not a lot of wind this morning but the temperatures tell the chilly tale. 27 degrees right now in philadelphia. 27 in wilmington. and just 22 in allentown at this early hour. again, not a lot of wind but
certainly cold enough for gloves, coats and maybe a little bit of a hat, too, just 'cause it is on the cold side. cape may is about the high water mark with temperatures and it's only the freezing mark there. once we get rid of these morning snow showers there's a chance of additional snow shower activity up in the northern suburbs especially allentown northern bucks and northern montco. that continues until 12:30 this afternoon. after that we start to build this back down toward philadelphia with a rain shower closer to the city itself. and a couple of more snow showers up north and then finally later this evening it looks like this all gets out of here. most of the afternoon precipitation is north of philadelphia but if you catch a little rain shower in the city this afternoon don't be surprised. also, in those northern areas where it's all snow, a coating to an inch is possible in allentown, kutztown maybe as far south as quakertown. if you're traveling up towards the poconos today look for a fresh one to 3 inches of snow up in that direction. so, in the lehigh valley we'll call for some spotty snow
showers, 36 degrees under clouds and sun otherwise many down the shore a mix of clouds and sun today and it will be chilly, not a lot of wind during the day but a high of 44 degrees so jackets required there as well. and in philadelphia we get up to 42 degrees with clouds mixing with some occasional sun. it does look like it's mainly dry in philadelphia today and winds out of the south at six to 12 miles per hour. again most your afternoon precipitation appears to be in the northern suburbs and it could be a little light snow the farther north you go. 38 then is the overnight low. it will not be as cold as it was this past night under partly cloudy skies and tomorrow we start in the 30's and we actually wind up pretty high up into the 40's. i'm actually going to go for a high of about 48 degrees in philadelphia tomorrow so a nice mild swing back coming tomorrow. your exclusive accuweather 7-day rain and snow showers at times, mainly north of philadelphia today. 42 degrees is your high. and then breezy and milder on wednesday with that high of 48. and back down to 40 with lots of sun and a continuing breeze on thursday. that is ground hog day. on friday clouds and sun and
colder air returning to the region with a high of 34. and saturday we start out the weekend brisk and cold with a high of just 33. back up to 37 on sunday but there is a chance now of some rain and snow showers beginning to develop during the afternoon and we could see some accumulating wintry mixed precipitation overnight sunday. not sure whether that spills into monday morning. it could. and then monday is clouds and sun. >> i know you'll be tracking it. >> yes, we will. >> thank you david. 5:10 now. up next on "action news" a woman leads police on a wild chase in california overnight. see how it dime an end. >> more than $400,000 worth of cocaine found on an american airlines plane. we'll tell you where the drugs were discovered. karen. >> right near penn's landing looking pretty good columbus boulevard at dock street. we do have problems nearby. we're take you to a fire location that's causing a closure when we come right back. >> ♪
