deck it's -- decades. he was stabbed outside his home in an attempted robbery. katherine scott is live at penn presbyterian medical center where he is being treated. >> reporter: good morning, tam, police have not made any arrests in this case they are looking for surveillance footage and conducting interviews. david oh is in the hospital in critical, but stable condition. he want into surgery at penn presbyterian, but before that, police say he was talking and in good spirits and wanted to make sure people knew he was going to be okay. this happened on the 5800 block of thomas avenue in southwest philadelphia at 90:00 p.m. this is the same neighborhood oh has lived since the 60s. he was getting out of the car getting bags out of the trunk near the home when a man approached him and started talking to him. at first he didn't know what he was saying, he briefly engaged him in conversation that's when

the police say the man pulled out a knife and demanded he hand over his keys, he stabbed him on the left side of his body and took off. investigators believe it was a crime of opportunity that likely the suspect didn't know that the person he attacked was a city council member. oh is a veteran he has a wife and four children. he was first elected is to city council in 2011 and re-elected in 2015. some of his colleagues and staff members have stopped by to see him and check on how he was doing. the fire commissioner was here, as well as city council president darrell clark. >> we'll keep saying our prayers and make sure the family is okay. david is a tough guy, he'll be ready to talk about legislation on the phone tomorrow he has a hearing coming up on one of his bills. he'll be okay. >> mayor kenny ask in iceland right now, but released a statement saying in part

and put her in a bag. the man ran off, the woman is in critical condition. two people are dead and a third wounded in north philadelphia on west rush street before 11:00 p.m. witnesses say two gunmen on bikes read rowed up to -- rode p to the victim and opened fire. two were killed and third shot in the arm. happening today a burlington county high school teacher is due in court accused of taking pictures and upskirting students. three students were victimized. testimony is underway in the child sex assault trial of lee kaplan accused of abusing amish sisters who were gifted to

them by their parents. the jury heard testimony from the girl's mother who said she was gifted to kaplan who helped the family financially. philadelphia mayor jim kenny flew to iceland after his scheduled flight was diverted to boston. a mishap on board forced the pilot to turn around over canada. passengers including kenny were rebooked on a flight yesterday afternoon. despite the delay, he tweeted that iceland air had excellent customer service and the best inflight meal i ever had. we'll have to ask him what it was. >> probably something with -- they have delicious berry, they turn into sauce? >> reporter: you get delicious anymore what do you fly first class. >> let's talk about the weather. >> reporter: let's talk about the weather, that's why we have you here, tam, balls you know
