. >> ♪ >> "action news." delaware valley's leading news program. with matt o'donnell, tamala edwards, karen rogers and meteorologist, david murphy. >> ♪ >> good morning everyone. it is 5 o'clock on this tuesday june 6th and we are following breaking news. >> an argument leads to deadly gunfire overnight. now police are looking for the killer. >> montgomery county prosecutors are trying present a witness to prove bill cosby had a pattern of predatory behavior. we are live as the sex assault trial enters day two. >> that inmate who escaped in bucks county still out there on the run but his father is accused of helping him to get away. >> some of us are about to get nailed with some heavy rain. let's go to david and karen. >> some of us already are, matt. right now. storm tracker6 live double scan shows a column of heavy rain moving through the northern and western suburbs and we are tracking it for you. you can see that it is pushing to the east taking about a half hour to move the distance of that red arrow i've drawn for you and right now heavy

rain expected in norristown in just about a minute from now, lenape 5:03, kennett square about 5:06 and after that we've got radnor at about 5:15 and then edgemont at 5:16. if i go out wide, you can see that this is also extending up into the northern suburbs visually all of montgomery county covered by this. this is pushing due east. there's a little bit more down to the south to the west of new castle county especially the southern portion of that county. all of this pushing toward the east. it shouldn't be too much longer before it's through but for the next hour or so in southeastern pennsylvania and then crossing the river into jersey we have an issue with that. as we take a look at the cloud cover, there's plenty of that out there, too. does look like it's going to wind up being a cloudy bay with additional shower activity later in the afternoon. visibility a little bit of an issue. fog popping up here or there. nothing super low. in dover visibility is below a mile. if you're trying around you'll see a bit of that fog and drizzle on the windshield from

those clouds. also a cool start. 62 degrees in philadelphia, same thing in allentown. 66 in wilmington, 63 in millville. and as we roll through the day, it is much cooler. 61 degrees by 7 o'clock. 63 by noon. 66 is your high by 3 o'clock and close to that all the way as late as 7 o'clock. notice how i posted a shower at any point in the day. that doesn't mean it's a washout. it just means at times just about any time in fact you could see a sprinkle or shower popping up. karen, we do have warmer air ahead in the accuweather 7-day forecast. i'll show that to you coming up. >> all right, dave, so it is soggy, it is wet. looking live on the vine street expressway which is reopened. the construction has cleared. they had shut it down overnight. crews will be back again tonight and tomorrow night. the vine will be closed each night through friday morning. we have a new accident over here so watch for it in lower spots grove township right on augusta drive at pinehurst drive and with the rain coming down you're going to find accidents popping up so be careful as you're traveling. this water main break from yesterday is huge and crews are still out there on edgehill road between

bradfield road and tyson avenue. they shut it down while they've been working trying to deal with this one in abington. stick to easton avenue to get around the closure. outside live this is the blue route northbound near norristown left lane remains blocked but it's in the process of clearing out. i see traffic moving a lot better up ahead right there. this accident is causing a problem on the new jersey turnpike northbound past hightstown. that's exit eight. only the shoulder gets by but that's in the outer drive. stick to the car lanes and you'll move a lot better matt and tam. >> thank you, karen. new this morning and breaking, argument between two men turned deadly inside a north philadelphia home. it happened along the 3000 block of north percy street at 10:30 last night. family members tell police a 29-year-old man and a 26-year-old man were fighting when the 26-year-old took out a gun and shot the 29-year-old in the chest several times. the victim was taken to the hospital where he later died. the man with the gun ran from the scene. police, though, probably think they're going to catch him soon because they say they know who he is. crews worked through the

night to repair a ruptured water main in montgomery county. a 16-inch water main burst along edgehill road near tyson avenue in the roslyn section of abington township sending water cascading down the stairwell there. it took crews nearly two hours to turn off the water. 85 homes, though, were left without service. service is expected to return at some point this morning and in fact it may be on at this point right now. >> it is 5:04 and happening today, we'll see what unfolds here on day two of the bill cosby sex assault trial. the entertainer's lawyers went on the attack yesterday. "action news" reporter katherine scott is live now at the courthouse in norristown with all the details. good morning, katherine. >> reporter: good morning, tam. and in day one of the trial, prosecutors said bill cosby used fame and power to prey on his victims but his attorney, brian mcmonagel claims that cosby is the victim of false accusations. >> we love you, bill.

>> reporter: shouts from bill cosby supporters as he left montgomery county courthouse after the first day of trial. without comment. cosby who will be 80 next month is charged with three counts of aggravated indies decent assault accused of drugging and sexually assaulting andrea constand at his home in cheltenham in 2004. in her opening statement, assistant district attorney kristen feden told the jury trust betrayal and an inability to consent that's what this case is about. the first witness called by the prosecution was a different accuser kelly johnson who says back in the 90's as she will worked for one of his talent agents at william morris cosby pressured her to take a large white pill and violated her in a hotel bungalow. she's the only past accuser the judge is permitting to testify as prosecutors try to establish cosby had a pattern of drugging and molesting young trusting women. in cross-examination, defense attorney brian mcmonagel questioned johnson's

credibility pointing to conflicting statements she's made in the past and said that johnson was just seeking a payout from the tv star. her attorney, gloria allred. >> have to relive what she alleges that mr. cosby did to her was very, very difficult. and she was crying part of the time as she recollected what she says he did to her. >> reporter: wife camille cosby was not in court but the comedian was accompanied by a member of his former tv family, keisha knight pulliam who played rudy huxtable. >> i accept the verdict that is handed down. this is not the ma and man that i've ever seen, that i've ever known, how he's ever shown up for me. >> reporter: and there is a question about whether prosecutors can call kelly johnson's mother to testify. the defense is opposed to that. the judge says he'll rule on this matter this morning.

as for cosby, there are no plans for him to testify during the course of the trial. we're live in norristown, katherine scott, channel6 "action news. tam. >> all right, katherine, thank you for that. also today a jury will continue deliberating the case against a bucks county man accused of sexually assaulting six girls, all sisters. prosecutors say the girls' parents put them in peril gifting that em to 52-year-old lee donald kaplan. the defendant claims he and the parents considered the oldest daughter who was underage when he was sent to live with kaplan to be his wife. he also claims that he never touched the younger girls who have testified that he did. jurors deliberated for five hours yesterday. >> authorities arrested a delaware county man on child pornography charges. officials say 70-year-old raymond giambuzzi attempted to hide a flash drive in his pocket that contained child pornography during a search of his havertown home. during the search detectives say they found hundreds of images of child porn. officials also accused giambuzzi of spying on and trading pictures of relatives.

the bucks county woman who kicked her two-year-old daughter to death will yrs behi. a judge sentenced 24-year-old kayla moore yesterday after she pleaded no contest to the charges. moore is accused of killing athena wolfe in april of last year in their falls township apartment. prosecutors say moore went into a violent rage over the toddler's behavior and then made up a story that the girl hit her head on a door while playing. >> the prisoner who escaped in bucks county county is still out there on the run but his father has been put under arrest. y jr. get away.. helped his he was 99 custody sunday f a drug police accused selby's father of picking his son up and dropping him ooon.

you that morning rain starts to break up and moves towards the east. by 12 o'clock there is still the possibility of a scattered sprinkle or shower and that off and on precipitation is going to continue right through the afternoon and in through the evening. wouldn't be out of the question that we get a couple of heavier downpours here and there later in the evening hours as well. by 10 o'clock, still cloudy and still a little bit damp with a spotty shower. up in allentown today we're going for a high of 66 degrees. it's going to be cooler across the region today. lots of clouds, a spotty shower can't be ruled out obviously and down the shore we're looking at lots of clouds, a spotty shower, a high of 64 degrees. hly your exclusive accuweather in philadelphia today of 66. clouds and as you just saw a spotty shower at times. tomorrow the pattern continues. some morning rain and drizzle here and there, a high of 65 degrees, mainly cloudy but on thursday, things get better. 72 is your high, clouds giving way to some sun. weary removing the chance of a shower o saturday sun to clouds with late thunderstorm.

>> ♪ >> welcome back. taking a live look that's usually the commodore barry bridge that you can see there in the distance. this morning it's a stormy morning, the clouds and on the rain -- actually it's skewing our view. it's 5:15 and 62 degrees. >> travelers have fog to deal with karen and also some rain moving through. >> you really see the rain coming down right now. this is a good shot here to show you. chalfont bucks county this is upper state road at bristol road and you see it steadily falling at this point kind of ponding on the roadway so be careful as you're traveling we've got a couple of accidents that have popped up in the rain, one in lower pottsgrove on augusta drive at pinehurst drive and in abington we continue to have edgehill road shut down with a water main break. stick to easton avenue as your alternate to that. live on the ben franklin

bridge you can see both the low visibility here as well as the rain. the roads are wet. that's your westbound traffic coming into the city. on the commuter traffic report on the waze app we found someone talking about flooding west uwchlan avenue in uwchlan township. i can show you this right now on storm tracker6 live double scan and we can see how we have this band of downpours even some thunder embedded in that. as we go a little closer you can see it's really heavy right now in norristown, in malvern in chadds ford moving from west to east so heading right towards the city and the south jersey, matt. >> thank you, karen. new here on "action news," a neighbor shot and killed an oklahoma man who police say was trying to drown his two children. it happened in the town of ada on friday. authorities say leland foster held the mother of his three month old twins at knife point as he attempted to drown the infants in a bathtub. a 12-year-old girl in the home ran next door for help. investigators say a neighbor

armed with a gun shot foster twice killing him. the boy and the girl babies are okay. the neighbor was questioned and released by police. >> a report shows russian hackers invaded at least one u.s. voting software company just days before the november election. a report leaked to the investigative news site said the hacking perpetrated furthera contractor has been identified as 25-year-old reality leigh winner. the georgia woman is charged with printing a a classified memo and sending it to the intercept with posted this report yesterday. the white house says there will be no assertion of executive privilege as an effort to keep james comey from testifying to the senate intelligence committee on thursday. comey will almost certainly be asked about his meetings with president trump where the president allegedly asked him to end the probe into michael flynn and allegedly asked him
