there. accuweather is tracking a sunny pleasant start to the workweek. let's get a quick look at weather and traffic and head over to david murphy and karen rogers good morning to you two. >> reporter: good morning, everybody, it's comfortable across the region. you can see on satellite very little cloud cover to the west. later in the day there might be clouds popping in and spotty passing shower. 68 degrees in philadelphia. how about some spots like allentown and millville in the 50s at this early hour. and reading, 61 degrees. 63 in lancaster. 65 in trenton and wilmington. 66 in dover and down in cape may. that's the warm spot this morning it's 73 degrees. dewpoints are not only in the 50s which is where we start talking about comfortable humidity levels they are down in the upper 40s in philadelphia and i will ton. so very -- allentown, so very low on the humidity. down in cape may not bad for an early morning stroll on the

officers this morning instead hit police bicycles. thankfully there were no serious injuries. it happened erie by i in juniata park. the road opened up 20 minutes ago. it was closed off for two hours for police investigation. the bikes were standing up right they were bent and damaged when they mowed over early this morning around 2:30 a.m. police were on the scene making two arrests for a separate incident a carjacking. they had stopped a chrysler at the intersection and made the arrest and recovered a gun. the officers had the chrysler surrounded when a speeding black nissan possibly an you ultima sd toward them going 60 miles per hour. the officers jumped out of the way, but the driver slammed into three parked philadelphia bicycles, driving right over them. it drove between the bikes and

the marked police vehicle that had their lights on. the car sped away. detectives may find clues and solve ability on the vehicle that sped away, the black nissan ultima with win thed windows, as well as the -- with tinted windows, as well as the operator. >> reporter: police say the nissan may have damage on it, escapes or dents from where it ran over the bicycles. so far they have not been able to track down the driver, if you have any tips police want to hear from you. katherine scott channel 6 "action news." in a jet. >> katherine, thank four that report. breaking this morning, philadelphia police believe a jealous x boyfriend ambushed a man outside a home in the northeast. it happened before midnight in the 1000 block of harrison street. according to police, a man was leaving his girlfriend's house when a man came out of the

nowhere and opened fire. the man was hit four times. the girlfriend drove him to the hospital. the ex-fled the scene in a white bmw. a man was shot and killed in west philadelphia. it happened around 10:00 p.m. a 31-year-old man was shot in the chest and the back. he was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. police are trying to figure out who shot him and why. authorities in chester county are investigating a house fire that claimed the life of a young boy. the fire broke out early sunday morning along the unit block of buckwalter road in east coventry township. the boy's father tried to save him, but the fire was too intense. neighbors came to the scene leaving teddy bears and sympathy notes. >> it's very sad, it's a quiet community not a lot happens

here. investigators believe the fire was accidentally and began in the kitchen. the front half of a car ended up inside a north philadelphia building. this was the scene near 13th and master streets. police say the driver was making a turn when it clipped another car. the impact sent it off the road into a light post through a fence and into the building. the 75-year-old driver was treated for minor injuries. a mentally challenged philadelphia man who was the victim of a vicious attack that was caught on tape is now being hailed a hero. mark smith was met at the rocky statue yesterday with a standing ovation, he had no idea he was about to be honored. how much the nonprofit organization teach anti-bullying was there to award him the metal of courage. he was the victim of bullying repeatedly punched in the face for no reason while he waited for the bus in germantown. >> we wanted to bring a smile back to his face. he is deserving and courageous.
