river valley. trump is expected to speak at radford university on monday. according to the candidate's website ... he will speak at noon. trump's campaign stop will happen the day before virginia's presidential primary. on the other side of the spectrum ... state lawmakers are campaigning for hillary clinton. governor terry mcauliffe ... senator tim kaine and a handful of others visited churches today to show their support for the democratic frontrunner. members of the group are also hosting phone banks ... canvases and organizing events for clinton ahead of super tuesday. some events took place in charlottesville ... hampton roads and norfolk today.

appomattox county after an e-f-3 tornado ripped through the area. while many people are still trying to process the damage...an evergreen church service is providing hope. wsls ten's duke carter reports. "about 150 people attended the service at evergreen baptist church and the pastor there is hoping after today's sermon that people will begin the process to heal," vo chris king is the senior pastor at evergreen baptist church. he shared his reaction considering his church is the only one in the area that wasn't damaged during the tornado. during the sermon --- king spoke about how people should learn to not always be in control of every aspect of their lives. king offered words of encouragement. and says it's best to rely on a higher power especially after a natural disaster. sot

shot during a church service this morning. reverend william schooler was allegedly shot by his younger brother. the suspect ... daniel schooler now faces murder charges. according to police ... the pastor walked back to his office when the shooter got out of a pew and followed him. witnesses say they heard gun shots while the choir was singing. it caused chaos. alberta blayth / church member - "he got up and went back in our pastor's office and then i heard two shots. wasn't a minute and i heard two shots. and so i just got everybody out of the church and we just kept hearing shooting and shooting. bang bang bang." police are trying to determine a motive. schooler is expected in court monday. a virginia community is mourning... after a police officer was killed on her first day on the job. 28 year old ashley guin-don along with two other officers were shot while

in prince william county. police say 32 year old ronald hamilton opened fire on the officers after allegedly killing his wife. guindon was killed just one day after being sworn in to the police department. her co-workers say she was passionate about her job. chief steve hudson / prince william co. police dept. - "she felt like she still wanted to do this job. she couldn't get it out of her blood. it was something she thought she could pour herself into". the other two officers are expected to recover-- one is in critical condition. hamilton was a member of the army who worked in the pentagon. he's charged with capital and first degree murder as well as malicious wounding. hamilton will be arraigned monday. roanoke county police will release more details about friday's officer involved shooting. according to a county spokesperson ... a news conference will be held monday morning. as you may recall / the suspect involved died friday night at the hospital. no other information has

an 18 year old girl critically hurt in a drunk driving crash has died. according to the facebook group prayers for ivy ... ivy adkins died saturday. a celebration of life will be held this wednesday to honor her. the visitation will be from two to three p-m with a service following directly after at lynchburg first church of nazarene. a scholarship fund will be set in ivy's memory. 19-year-old "christian riddle" is facing two charges of maiming while driving intoxicated .. d-w-i .. and driving with a revoked license. riddle will go before a grand jury in bedford circuit court on march first. a direct descendant of frederick douglas and booker t. washington was in roanoke today. kingdom life ministries held it's annual black history month celebration today. it featured kenneth morris. he is the great- great-great grandson of frederick douglass and the great-great grandson of booker t. washington he spoke to people about human trafficking and efforts to stop it.

turning back to our political coverage ... republican presidential candidate marco rubio spoke at roanoke college tonight. we check back in with wsls 10's ananda rochita who was there tonight. what did rubio have to say tonight? the students here weren't only from roanoke college but virginia tech and hollins. he tried to relate to them about being in college living paycheck to paycheck and the "american dream" which he says is in jeopardy. he talked about his family and how his parents came from cuba wanting the american dream. he listed some of his issues and policies which include improving our military, saving social security, and getting rid of obamacare. he also didn't hesitate to spend several minutes talking about donald trump. he said trump is taking out a scam on the american people and stated examples like trump university.

has small hands and guys with small hands can't be trusted. nearly 23- hundred people came out to hear rubio speak tonight ... we talked to a mother who brought her high school daughter here. jane snyder/roanoke resident "i just thought it was important for my daughter to see the political process and her know as much as she can and i can about the candidates." rubio also talked about a reagan style rebuilding of the military. he says military spending isn't the reason why we're in debt and that we need to provide our servicemen the best equipment to fight. rubio made several other stops around virginia including in the richmond area and virginia beach. in salem ananda rochita wsls 10. you can make a difference by giving blood. wsls 10 is teaming up with the red cross for the 10 cares

virginia tech's men's basketball team only has 3 games left in the regular season. the hokies faced wake forest tonight in winston-salem... the demon deacons are second to last in conference standings.. with just 2 wins in acc play. virgina tech led by a point at halftime... early in the second half.. justin bibbs pull sup the left handed jumper. -tied 42-all.. chris clarkes shot is no good.. but he gets his own rebound and makes the putback. -justin robinson driving now.. straight to the basket and gets the foul call.

speaking of the honda classic... light of the night ...wait!!! i thought golf was a gentleman's sport! in the final round of the honda classic today...look ma--no pants!! pga golfer gary woodland takes his shoes...socks...an d pants off to hit a shot out of the water because he didn't want to get his white pants muddy. for those of you still caring about he did...he made par on this hole.. and finished tied for 61st place. but at least his pants are clean. stay with us... we'll be right

sitting duck. a swan stopped rush hour traffic on a bridge in prague friday. the swan sat in the car lane of the road and tram bridge and refused to move. as you can see here ... police were called to the scene to handle the situation.
