to get a glimpse of the snowy winter weather. we have a bird )s eye view of the snow over hampton roads. take a look at this view -- from newschannel three photo journalist matt sonsalla and friend andrew karavatakis -- a cool drone video showing the snow blanketing the hidenwood area of newport news. and further up the peninsula -- heavier snow started sticking to the road on route 199. in the colonial capitol of williamsburg -- a blanket of snow covered the heart of the william and mary campus. the fluffy snow on wide lawns provided the perfect sunday funday. temperatures will linger near freezing all day but it will feel more like the low to mid 20s with nw winds at 10 to 20 mph. temperatures will fall into the teens by tuesday morning with wind chills in the single digits. tomorrow afternoon with we will start to warm up for midweek with . as of now, we will see mostly rain for friday and saturday but with some snow overnights. right now the )bulls eye ) for snow will be to-p&our northwest.

if spots refroze - they were treat those spots. city spokeswoman says crews were working with police and fire units to monitor and respond to icy patches. they treated the citys bridges and route 58 bypass with salt earlier in the day yesterday. police across hampton roads also kept busy responding to accidents. when we saw some of the heaviest snow yesterday -- virginia state police reported at least eleven accidents on hampton roads highways. now lets send it over to kristen crowley with a check on the roadways now here )s kristen crowley to

we are following a developing story out of norfolk where passengers still waiting to take off more than 15-hours- after a boeing 7-57 had to make an emergency landing. newschannel threes stefania okolie is live at norfolk international airport with more. an airport official tells newschannel 3 united airlines flight 14-70 was having engine problems around noon yesterday. officials say the plane landed safely with more than two- hundred passengers and crew on board. the flight was headed from newark, new jersey to the dominican republic. newschannel three spoke to one passenger who is still stranded at the airport. she says passengers were screaming and crying during the

in gloucester county -- deputies have arrested a man who they say shot four people -- killing one of them. 18-year-old dijon whitter of hampton has been charged with first degree murder, malicious shooting, and felony use of a firearm. the shooting happened shortly after midnight yesterday off of ditchley road and gill lane. when police arrived they found four victims. two were airlifted out of the area -- one was taken to a nearby hospital , and the fourth was pronounced dead at the scene. whitter is being held in the gloucester county jail with no bond. one police officer is dead and another injured in a shooting in utah. it happened in salt lake city yesterday morning. 44-year old officer doug barney was among several officers called to a crash. when they arrived they started looking for the two people who left the scene. officer doug barney was able to find the male suspect-- cory henderson-- who then shot him and another officer.

was taken to the hospital in critical condition but was later died. the other officer was taken to the hospital in serious condition. the gunman was shot and killed. the other suspect has not been found. we are following a developing story this morning three american contractors are missing in iraq . a company filed a report yesterday about three of its staff members going missing two days ago. officials say the men were grabbed by a group of gunmen from an apartment friday afternoon and were taken away in a convoy. an iraqi security official says two of the three missing contractors are dual iraq- american citizens and that the third is an american national. three americans freed from iran over the weekend are now reunited with their families. washington post journalist ---jason rezain --marine veteran amir hekmati and christian pastor saeed abedini were exchanged for seven iranians held or charged in the u-s. they are

democratic presidential candidates hillary clinton and bernie sanders went toe to toe on gun control last night. while martin o )malley struggled to be heard. after the debate, clinton celebrated with her supporters. weijia jiang has the story.

an emergency call to a 9-1-1 dispatcher went unanswered ---police say an employee was on the other line ordering her lunch. according to reports a man had a seizure and passed out while at an optometrist s officer in fort lauderdale florida.

9-1-1 but never got a call back. after an investigation police say they found that the only dispatcher available at the time was busy placing a seven- minute food order. a recording of the call revealed some of the order. outcue: ".. " duration:0:00 sot-pizza order call: " poppy s pizza: "okay, what can i get for you?" - 911 dispatcher: "let me have one slice of cheese pizza. let me have a lunch special, the pizza lunch special-- two cheese pizzas and a coke. let me have the lunch special-- two pepperonis and a coke." the dispatcher who missed the call admitted to her mistake and was written up. as for the man who passed out he thankfully regained consciousness

we are following breaking news this morning fire crews are working to put out a apartment fire. crews were called just before six this morning to an apartment on des moines avenue. newschannel threes stefania okolie is headed to the scene and we will have more information has it becomes available. two virginia men have been arrested on terror-related charges. the department of justice says one man was taken into custody at richmond international airport. authorities say he was heading to syria. a second man allegedly drove him to the airport. both have been living in woodbridge virginia. the man arrested at the airport is a u-s citizen -- and is accused of attempting to provide materials and resources to a terror organization. the other -- originally from sudan -- is charged with assisting. investigators are looking into a fire that killed five people in chesterfield. fire crews were called to the home just after three yesterday morning. when they arrived they

garage and going into the home. five people were able to escape the fire but five others were pulled from the home. four of them were pronounced dead at the scene and the fifth died at v-c-u medical center. one firefighter was transported to the hospital with minor burn injuries. investigators are still looking into what caused the fire. the red cross is helping the survivors who now don t have a place to live. on the military watch -- rescuers have expanded their search for 12 marines missing since their two military helicopters apparently collided in the waters off the hawaiian island of oahu. the u-s coast guard said the search has widened along oahu s north shore and now extends eight miles out to sea. the marines were conducting training flights late thursday when officials believe the two copters crashed into each other. the u-s coast guard says no mayday call was received -- just word that something had gone wrong. the u-s marine corps has identified the 12 missing men.
