it )s super tuesday---voters are ready to head to the polls in what could be a make or break for some presidential candidates, two hampton roads cities have been listed on the top murder capitals of the country--what police are asking you to do to help get off that list. super tuesday marks the biggest single day in the presidential primary race so far.

new this morning out of suffolk where a dead body was found. we )re told a man )s body was found at the pleasant hill cemetery at dill road and old dill road around 1-30 this morning. detectives say they are investigating as an undetermined death - and that the official cause will be determined by the medical examiners office. two children are recovering this morning -- hit by a car in

police say a car was making a left turn to go south on chesapeake boulevard, and that s when it hit a seven and a nine year old boy in the crosswalk. police cited the man driving the car for failing to yield the right of way, driving on a suspended license, and having no insurance. new details on a breaking news story we brought to you yesterday. two people are dead in a massive fire destroyed a middlesex county marina. and police are now calling it arson. the fire started around 4-30 yesterday morning. the flames destroyed two buildings, and 21 boats. a friend says the people who died were sleeping on their boat. investigators think someone set the marina on fire because of evidence that they found at the scene -- but they aren )t saying what that evidence is. police say they will release the victim )s identities once they notify their family. the man accused of killing prince william county police officer ashley guindon - is now formally charged with the crime. guindon

while responding to a domestic violence call in woodbridge. 32-year-old ronald hamilton is accused of shooting guindon, and veteran officers jesse hempen and david mckeown as they walked up to the front door of his house. hamilton is also accused of killing his wife before police got to the scene. hamilton - who appeared in court yesterday - is an active duty army staff sergeant assigned to the pentagon. the commonwealth )s attorney says he was convicted of assault in another state in 2007. two of our local cities are considered murder capitals of the united states. that ranking stemming from the number of violent crime during last year. newport news and norfolk both made the list for the top 30 murder capitals of the u-s. according to a survey -- information provided by the f-b-i and other government agencies to see which counties had the most violent crime per 100 thousand people in each state. norfolk was ranked 28 and newport news was ranked 25. police are sending out a

the city of suffolk is reminding people about a program called e-m-s passport. it )s an annual subscription of sixty dollars that covers ambulance rides that can run anywhere from four to eight hundred dollars -- which comes out of your pocket if insurance doesn t pick up the full tab. you can find the details about how to sign up on-- w-t-k-r dot com. president obama has awarded the highest military honor to a virginia beach based navy seal who helped rescue hostages in afghanistan. senior chief special warfare operator edward byers is the first living, active duty member of the navy to receive the award in four decades. he threw himself on the hostage to protect him from heavy gunfire and then neutralized one of the taliban guards. his actions saved the lives of several other seals. he says he doesn t know how the award will change his life -- but plans

the commander in chief called byers a highly skilled yet quiet professional. a world war two veteran is home this morning - he flew across the world to be reunited with his long lost love. norwood thomas flew to australia earlier this month so he could see joyce durrant in person. it was the first time the two have been in the same room in more than 70 years. he spent two weeks visiting joyce -- they even got to enjoy a special valentines day date together. norwood arrived back in norfolk on saturday night. newschannel 3 will be sitting

hundreds of people gathered last night- to protest the death of a man shot by a police officer. so far the demonstrations in raleigh north carolina are peaceful. the police department says senior officer d-c twiddy shot and killed akiel denkins yesterday afternoon after a short chase. twiddy was trying to arrest denkins on a drug charge when police say the 24-year-old took off. the officer is on leave pending an investigation. jesse matthew junior is set to enter a guilty plea this week for two virginia murder cases. matthew is charged with killing u-v-a student hannah graham. she disappeared in september of 20- 14-- her remains found a month later.

albemarle commonwealth s attorney says matthew will plead to a lesser charge in that case - a plea is also expected for the murder case of virginia tech student morgan harrington-- which happened five years earlier. a hearing is set for tomorrow at one-30. and this plea agreement is said to resolve both murder cases. testimony continues in the civil lawsuit involving t-v sportscaster erin andrews. andrews became emotional on the stand yesterday as she recalled the moment she learned michael barrett had secretly videotaped her while she was naked in her hotel room. andrews is suing barrett as well as the national marriott in tennessee for 75-million dollars over the 2008 incident. a time magazine photographer says a secret service agent choked him and slammed him to the ground and it was all caught on camera. this is cell phone video of that scuffle. time magazine photographer chris morris tells
