police say a 34 year old man was shot after some sort of disagreement on the street. the victim was able to drive to 4th and kilbourn, where he flagged down an officer. he was taken to a hospital and should be ok. the shooter fled the scene. we're staying on top of this story and will have updates throughout live at daybreak. happening today -the two girls accused in the 20-14 'slender man stabbing case' will be in a waukesha county courtroom for a hearing.prosecutors say morgan geyser and anissa weier stabbed a classmate 19 character known as slenderman. both are being tried as adults. also today-a liquor store looted during the recent rioting in sherman park is expected to reopen .the owner of clark's liquor store told us: the inside was destroyed. the o'reilly auto parts store -- captured here by chopper 4 - - will be torn down as will the b-p gas station. extended closures at the zoo

milwaukee police are working to figure out the connection between two men -- one of whom was shot and killed near a police station.investigators say the three people got into a fight in front of district 6

a 65 year old man pulled a gun and shot a 42 year old man. the victim died at the hospital. the shooter and another man then walked into the district and turned themselves into police. this 59-year-old man faces charges for stealing liquor and a stuffed pink walrus from a copps store in madison. police report ronald duell reached into his waistband, and threatened the employees with a gun .. after they tried to stop him.turns out... duell was not armed... but wa disorderly conduct, trespass and parole violation. starting today, the brown deer police department and other law enforcement agencies around the state -- are cracking down on drunk drivers. offficers will participate in the "drive sober or get pulled over" campaign through septemeber 5th.the goal is to reduce the number of preventable traffic deaths to zero in wisconsin. as the healing continues in sherman park -- state investigators are asking the public for any information

violence. the wisconsin department of justice has launched a tip line for information about sylville smith's death. all tips are annoymous. we have a link at tmj4 dot com. the a-c-l-u is still waiting for a response from the department of justice after urging them to release body cam footage in the death of sylville smith. smith was killed by a milwaukee police officer last weekend -- his death sparked riots in the sherman park neighborhood. the a-c-l-u and other agencies say if that video -- the unrest we witnessed could continue. without the sound without knowing when the order to drop the gun was given without knowing when the shots were fired just having the gun in the hand doesnt tell the public what they need to know mayor tom mayor tom barrett also says

a zika alert in florida. officials confirm two new cases have been linked to miami beach .that brings the total number of cases in the city to 35.florida health of declaring miami beach a zika transmission zone.so far, they have not.officials are urging residents in the area to spray themselves and their clothes with mosquito today, disease control workers will spray a two-block area of san diego because of concerns over zika.a man who lives nearby may have contracted the virus during a recent trip overseas.state officials are doing testing on him to determine if he is infected. officials say the spraying will be a precautionary two olympic swimmers are on

a request by u-w for more money is on its way to governor scott walker's desk this morning.the university of wisconsin board of 42 and a half million dollars in new funding -- they say will reverse years of declining support.governor walker has told u-w not to expect more money. early voting is set to start soon for milwaukee and madison. according to the journal sentinel: madision will start early voting september 26th. milwaukee's early voting schedule will be published next week... and is expected to follow a similar timeline. the plans could change depending on what an appeals
