you can see the presidential debate, live, right here on today's tmj-4, starting at eight o'clock. there's word this afternoon that trump's running mate, mike pence, has ?canceled? his visit to waukesha tomorrow. no reason was given. trump is still scheduled to hold a rally at the waukesha county expo center on wednesday. "more local news":the milwaukee common council now has mayor barrett's 20-17 budget proposal. it calls for services like maintaning milwaukee's police force... and removing lead throughout the city. pete zervakis now... on what's next: mayor tom barrett's 2017 budget proposal calls for a tax increase of about 26 dollars on a hundred-thousand- dollar home. city fees would go up about 10 dollars. we have an obligation to provide essential city services the mayor's proposal also calls for more spending on milwaukee's police department... but not enough

money. i know there are people - including me - who would love to see more officers deployed the right way of course but we have to have the funds to do thatalderman cavalier johnson - a member of the public safety committee - backs the plan. with some of the issues our community faces - you can't police your way out of it - it's got to be more than just police he says one way to improve public safety: is removing lead paint - and water lines - around the city. it's taking on lead laterals studies has a direct effect on behaviors and sometimes violent behaviors later in life as well the 2017 budget proposal puts 11 million towards removing lead pipes that are broken... or serving 385 daycare facilities around the city. mayor barrett also called on the council to change city ordinances... and mandate homeowners swap out the lead service lines that are private property - as they city replaces the public lines

the parking lot. police say the woman was shot. we're working to learn more details. look for updates throughout the afternoon, on tmj-4. all schools in the sun prairie district are closed today... while they're inspected for mold. it all started when mold was found at an elementary school. those classes are being moved to other locations while an outside contractor removes the mold. because of that situation, district administrators decided to inspect all the schools today as well. he's public enemy number one on milwaukee's east side.steve chamraz is in the newsroom with a story new on live at 5... thanks carole and charles. just who is this man? folks living on the city's east side say he's been breaking into their cars. so they're fighting back. we'll show you how and we'll hear from a woman who came face-to-face with this suspect.that's coming up on live at 5. many people say your posture
