bring on the test to make the tears. straight to the action in this video as we join three people casually falling towards the earth about 125 miles an hour. as they open up their canopy and the person we're with, as the camera gets the epic shot and this is where the action really gets started. the person whose point of view we're watching right now is about to have quite the ride. >> uh-oh, she's in spiral. >> all twisted up and now she's basically ground. forces are throwing her away from her canopy. >> and her lines are twisted. >> what do we do in this situation? don't panic, right? >> and break away the primary chute and go for the reserve. >> exactly, go for a cut away. thing is -- >> sounds so easy. >> the thing is, she knows this. she's a professional sky diver. she's done 8,000 jumps, 15 years she's been at it and had to cut
times before. problem is, this time the cut away handle is jammed. >> oh, no. >> as you can see, her feet is being thrown up in front of her and you can hear when she realizes she's in trouble. she's pulling on this handle that just refuses to move. what she does is think outside the box. while the handle isn't moving, she grabs on to it and pulls as hard as she can. there it goes, makes sure it's not twisted, breathes a sigh of relief. >> what happened, why would that jam like that? >> no one is sure. i've read a couple articles, all she says is it was jammed and couldn't get it to go. fortunately, like you said, kept a cool head and figured it out. eventually she makes her way back down to the ground. as soon as she lands, you know she knows it was close. you can see she's shaking her head going -- well, that was an
